So I know this is an older video so I'm a little late to the party haha, but I gotta weigh in on the Mayhem take. He was doing something different from the usual high pitched raspy vocals that were just oversaturated within the genre. Just my two cents. Enjoy your channel and Robert's as well. Always love your collaborations.
I love Iced Earth Horror Show. Matt Barlow is one of my top 5 singers and Horror Show is his best album. He sings his ass off on that thing especially on Dracula. One of the best metal vocal performances ever recorded. And DiGiorgio plays on it so that's pretty awesome. Something Wicked would be my pick for overrated Iced Earth album.

I'm a huge Judas Priest fan, but always thought British Steel was over-rated. I still really like it. I do love Metal Gods and The Rage is my favourite from the album.
There's an amazing live performance of The Rage on RUclips. I think it's from the very end of the kk Era. Yeah. I think it's my favorite song on that album.

Brave video! I particularly love Horror Show though and would actually have it in my top 10 Metal Albums of all time, and Iced Earth are close to a top 5 Metal bands for me. Not triggered though, different people like different things. And for these albums to be called 'overrated' proves that there is a consensus that a legion of fans out there DO rate it highly, so there's plenty defenders of it besides me.
Maiden is by far my favorite band of all time, but I still agree with Piece of Mind. It's probably the weakest of their 80s output for two reasons; Die With Your Boots On and Sun and Steel. The other albums have max one song which I consider to be sub-par compared to the rest of their respectuve albums (Running Free, Drifter, Gangland, Back in the Village, Heaven Can Wait, Can I Play With Madness). I like these songs but they just fall behind in comparison to the rest. The rest is an absolute 10/10. And I also agree with British Steel! I've just never gotten the hype. I realize its importance, but most of the songs I just find are just average at best. Rapid Fire, Metal Gods and The Rage are all bone fide bangers though, some of the best songs they've made. But United has to be one of their worst songs. They released so many better albums both before and after, I don't know why or how British Steel has been put upon the same pedestal as Screaming for Vengeance, Defenders of the Faith, Sad Wings of Destiny, Sin after Sin, Stained Class or Painkiller. I even put Firepower and Angel of Retribution ahead of British Steel.
I agree partly... Maidens discography is so special saying over rated comes with a huge 'uh yeah but millions still love to listen to it anyhow' caveat for most albums.....I do think Still Life is much more loveable listen than Powerslave....Powerslave for me hit a certain zeitgeist or vein when it was released unlike Still Life which was overshadowed by the undeniable Beast....but Still Life is full of amazing songs that you want to go back to repeatedly for me. Revelation is better than anything in Powerslave for me too.
I disagree with Dream Theater's AVftTotW, I'd rank it in the middle of my list. Yes, it uses cliches, and the vocal melodies and performances aren't always great, but I thought it was the freshest they sounded since ADToE. My pick for underrated DT album would be AVftTotW or ADToE, both can compete with the Portnoy albums. My pick for overrated DT album would be Octavarium. I'm not really into tracks like I Walk Beside You or Never Enough, and I enjoy other DT epics more like A Change of Seasons, The Count of Tuscany, and even Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence. It's still solid, but I prefer most of their other 90s and 2000s output.
The vocals on DMDS crush, by the way. Some of the best in the entire industry. Daemon sucked, by the way. Mayhem peaks with DMDS, Wolf's Lair Abyss and Grand Declaration of War.

It is pretty funny that you get very sensitive about some of them yourself lol, like cannibal corpse is a kind of band that people go to see just to say they went to see it, they never see it twice. Without Ace Ventura that band would barely be known
absolutely agree with fallen angel of doom, this one is not just "not so good", this is objectively bad also agree with mayhem, though i think the album is not bad, but at most ok
I will agree that Attilas vocals are terrible, he sounds like Popeye, but I saw them do this album live and it was great. Most Mayhem albums suck but this album is still their best by a long shot. Youthanasia sucks so who thinks this is even a good album, It's the worst of all Megadeth albums up to that point.
I just got into war metal recently, and I kinda have to agree about Fallen Angel of Doom. It's definitely influential and it's very heavy, but the production is AWFUL. Not good awful like with Leviathan or Ulver, but just bad. The drums and vocals are alright, but why are the the guitars and bass so low in the mix?
Ulver! Their production is amazing. Can’t listen to it all the time, mind you, but when the mood takes me… it sounds like a forest of razors come to life. Brilliant stuff. Makes you feel like you’re dying from a thousand vicious cuts 🩸 every time you listen to it.
@@jmalinjapan7786 Ulver is a fantastic band, I completely agree with you. Bergtatt is a fantastic atmospheric experience, where Nattens is absolute hellfire. I wish they would've made a few more albums as a black metal band, brcause they truly are one-of-a-kind
@@AgainstTheeWickedlyMusic Thanks, yeah it’s such a bummer that they quit metal. It’s like they thought “We’ll, we mastered that, what else can we do?” It’s frustrating that they didn’t choose to evolve their metal sound.
@@jmalinjapan7786 it is definitely unfortunate that they really only made two metal albums, but as a musician, I understand why they did it. Especially since they were already blending two vastly different genres, I'm not surprised that they wanted to experiment with other ones
British Steel too, when I first heard it I had to listen to it like 6 times before I started to like it. I do really like It now but it would struggle to even get to my top 10 Priest albums for me. You dislike Living After Midnight but like Breaking the Law, I'm the opposite haha, Breaking the Law is just kinda lame to me, it feels like it should have a lot more energy and oomph than it actually does. I love Rapid Fire and Grinder though and personally I also love United and Red White and Blue. So there are a good few songs I like on the album but I like other albums so so much more. My top 5 Priest albums would go: 1: Painkiller Turbo Sad Wings of Destiny Nostradamous Defenders of Faith 2 and 3 can be interchangeable depending on my mood and so can 4 and 5. Not sure what I would put after.
From Maiden, Killers is overrated, is the least good from the 80´s albums era. I think it's a bad copy of the self titled album and Di Anno voice is horrible.
If were going with an overrated Maiden Album. I pick Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. Don't understand the praise and love that that album gets and I never have.
speaking as someone who loves fallen angel of doom , i can say metal meltdown is 100 percent correct in all his opinioins ,and i love this record ive loved it for 20 plus years but yeah its a sloppy amatuerish mess, and i would say the second album Gods of War is actually better
Gods of War sounds a lot better, but a lot of the material on it is pretty forgettable. If Fallen Angel had that production, I'd like Blasphemy a lot more
Yeah I've been told that I'm insane and that I'm objectively wrong when I've said that De Mysteriis isn't my favourite Mayhem album... didn't even say I disliked it, just said it's not my favourite. But I agree overall Mayhem is just definitely not one of the best 2nd wave BM bands overall, personally I don't think they have a single amazing album, just good-really good.
Albums start at 3:30
I listened to songs from 13 by Megadeth yesterday, such a underrated album, it is similar to Youthanasia, slower albums and they have groove

It is pretty funny that you get very sensitive about some of them yourself lol, like cannibal corpse is a kind of band that people go to see just to say they went to see it, they never see it twice. Without Ace Ventura that band would barely be known
absolutely agree with fallen angel of doom, this one is not just "not so good", this is objectively bad
also agree with mayhem, though i think the album is not bad, but at most ok
I hate Mayhem so I'm not mad
I will agree that Attilas vocals are terrible, he sounds like Popeye, but I saw them do this album live and it was great. Most Mayhem albums suck but this album is still their best by a long shot. Youthanasia sucks so who thinks this is even a good album, It's the worst of all Megadeth albums up to that point.
Wisconsin Death Trip?!?!?! You are high, sir.
No I'm not, its a terrible album.
@@AgainstTheeWickedlyMusic Out of curiosity, why do you think they did it then? I admit I haven’t searched out any interviews etc…
butchered at birth amazing great album great production chris barnes amazing vocalist
Blasphemy diss no way!
And De Mysteries Dom Satanas! Oh dear these are two of my favourite albums of all time.
And butchered at birth!
My top 5 Priest albums would go:
1: Painkiller
Turbo
Sad Wings of Destiny
Nostradamous
Defenders of Faith
2 and 3 can be interchangeable depending on my mood and so can 4 and 5.
Not sure what I would put after.
STAINED CLASS
From Maiden, Killers is overrated, is the least good from the 80´s albums era. I think it's a bad copy of the self titled album and Di Anno voice is horrible.
If were going with an overrated Maiden Album. I pick Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. Don't understand the praise and love that that album gets and I never have.
I feel wretched spawn is “underrated”
speaking as someone who loves fallen angel of doom , i can say metal meltdown is 100 percent correct in all his opinioins ,and i love this record ive loved it for 20 plus years but yeah its a sloppy amatuerish mess, and i would say the second album Gods of War is actually better
Gods of War sounds a lot better, but a lot of the material on it is pretty forgettable. If Fallen Angel had that production, I'd like Blasphemy a lot more
That sloppy amateurish mess is why I love Fallen Angel of Doom. But I definitely get why people would not like that album.
Might I suggest

Or
