    I was diagnosed with OCD since my teenage, spent my whole life fighting OCD. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

      Can you help me with the reliable source 🙏. I'm 56 and have suffered for years with addiction, anxiety and severe ptsd, I got my panic attacks under control myself years ago and they have come back with a vengeance, I'm constantly trying to take full breaths but can't get the full satisfying breath out, it's absolutely crippling me, i live in Germany. I don't know much about these mushrooms. Really need a reliable source!! Can't wait to get them.

      I wish they were readily available in my place. Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He is 59 & has so many mental health issues plus probable CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac. He's constantly talking about killing someone. He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD know if it is common for an obsession with violence.

      yeah, if those with OCDs can live together this will be easier and energetic to fight through.
      But though we are far from one another, still think that there is someone ( and not only one) fighting with you at the other side of the world. ( This thought might not be helpful sometimes but it has a point at least and that is real). Try to listen at leat for mindfulness audios while sleeping, in that way your family won't notice you doing it. The first time I do yoga, my family is surprised of me doing it, and I say it's just for fitness, them not knowing I'm on an unexplainable extreme inner crisis. Hoping for you to find time to fight while surrounded by ur parents.

      @beautifulday1665 Год назад

      1- this work is frightening, difficult, takes courage but it's not complicated.. it's hard but it's simple once you understand it.
      2- you gotta treat this like a mental game that you can win. You have a challenger ( ocd ) that has a strategy, come up with YOUR counter strategy and apply that... you'll be saying to (OCD) I am not playing your game anymore.
      3- don't do exposure, it doesn't work.. instead, do exposure with attitude, and what's the best attitude you ask? It's simple, just say " I want to do this, I want what I don't want, I WANT WHAT SCARES ME!!!
      4- own this work. Don't read a self-help book and follow those instructions, comprehend it, figure it out and what it means, don't comply with your therapist's instructions instead, collaborate, decide what your plan is, defend the logic of your plan and then want to do what you should do, own this work.
      5- this is an aggressive sport, you need an attacking offense. YOU GOTTA BRING THE FIGHT!!! And tell (OCD) " I gotta take what you're dishing out, give me two servings and give them to me NOW "
      6- don't say maybe I locked the door, maybe I didn't.. I can handle uncertainty. Maybe I ran somebody over this morning on the highway and killed them, maybe I didn't.. I can handle uncertainty. This has nothing to do with your content, your topic, your theme.. This is about uncertainty, simple old generic uncertainty and the good news are none of this in your topic has to be paid attention to. Go find uncertainty, do something that brings you doubt then walk on without answering the question. What do you say in those moments? " good, I am here to handle uncertainty ".
      7- you win this game moment by moment. Don't worry about the long-term, don't worry about the future.. it's right now. That's what it's about.
      8- in the beginning, it's terrifying to do this work, I know that and you know that.. but if we strip all of this down to a very simple structure, here's what it looks like and sounds like:
      OCD: BOoooo
      You: ahhhhh
      Also you: I am treating that like an obsession. I am so done with that.
      Also you: turn away and say " sitting with uncertainty is hard... " THEN REPEAT!! "

      my therapist once said: if you for example think your hands are contaminated then ask yourself: am I 100% sure? if the answer is no, don't do the ritual.

    • @Sipu97
      @Sipu97 Год назад +3

      For me, I had to really come to terms with my ocd (contamination, germs). It took me years to acknowledge that I had a problem, then accept it and then understand that it is ocd. Then I started toying with the idea that maybe I could try to get rid of it, but I didn't do anything about it. It got worse and worse but I went abroad for a student exchange where I couldn't control the cleanliness of everything so I adapted. When I got home, I noticed that I didn't regard some things as dirty anymore and could do things I hadn't been able to do. Well, then it slowly got worse again as I didn't do anything to continue on that road. It's been almost a year since I returned home and now I can say that I'm truly on the way to recovery and I only started doing ERP a couple of weeks ago.
      I just want to get rid of this. I started reading lots of experiences by people who had been able to get rid of it, how they did it and then I started researching the methods how to do it myself. I wrote down all my symptoms, what causes anxiety, what are my rituals and so on. I cried while doing all of that, even thinking about OCD made me cry. I don't know why, maybe it was sadness and tiredness of what my life had become. But I was so motivated. I did my first exposures (touching grocery packages without washing my hands afterwards and then touching my hair, computer etc. Basically contaminating myself to the "dirt" on the products) and I cried again. I think I was just working on my thoughts and feelings so much. I felt both relieved and anxious, it was so weird. But that was the hardest, afterwards I have been slowly been able to expand my exposures. My next step is not going for a shower every time I return home and being able to go on to my bed with the clothes I had outside of home and not cleaning my phone every time I use it outside of home (I have done it a little bit already but I didn't think the phone as dirty then, but it's something).
      My advise (once you get started) would be to just keep going. Don't stop. It's a process and you are going to have failures as well as successes. But if you stop doing exposures and stop working on it, it is so easy to fall back to your old ways. Just keep going!
      (There is also a possibility that you have to work on the anxiety that causes ocd. I'm fearing that handling ocd won't be enough, but I'll see once I get there. I feel so much better already and feel less anxious).

    Reid, you are so good with explaining! But after having watched all your videoes, there is still one thing that seams a bit unclear to me. You say that you got to get off the content, that content is irrelavant. And I try to see it this way, I try to tell my self that ocd playing trics on me, and that my fear will probably not come true. But my mind doesn.t belive it, it wants some proof, and from there the way is short to doing reasurance.
    How can I make my brain understand that content is irrelavant, without doing reasurance?

    • @bobsalmon7876
      @bobsalmon7876 4 года назад +3

      Its not possible to convince your mind that something is irrelevant through logic etc . I think the key is accepting that your experiencing the trigger as being relevant to your mind , while choosing the actions (exposure) that demonstrate to your mind that its not .

    I'm on 80mg of prozac daily for anxiety, depression and OCD. Is it still healthy to drink in moderation? 1.5oz of whisky daily? This is safe. Correct?

      The medication is meant (in my opinion) as a crutch to help you as your recovering from all the bad mental health coping skills youve been doing. in regards to the alcohol. Are you trying to reassure yourself? If you need help or assistance in fighting OCD or any mental illness i can help. I can show you what ive learned in my journey to leave this behind you. Treat like a mental game you can win. Exposure WITH attitude- I want what scares me. It's an aggressive sport- you need an attacking offence; (give me 2 servings & give it to me now,!). Find uncertainty then walk on without answering question. You win game moment by moment not by thinking long term. (He's almost saying the disease is timidness and your chaotic mind takes the offense)

      I think he meant don't passively do an exposure, but when doing so do it with attitude and confidence.
