This review is really good! You've pointed out some issues that i was wanting to know! - Hardware keys to connect music - Scratch easy screen - Load delay during startup (when wifi is not available), same problem with the Lenovo Smart Clock - At least a 1000mah power backup should be there by default in all smart clocks (gives at least 1-2 hours backup without music, because music speakers come with power backup), power backup for music ringtone and clock is a must.
Finally I found an actual review of this device and not an endorsement / ad disguised as a review. Thank you for your indepth description of the features and issues of this smart clock. Are you still using it, and did you notice any improvements in the devices firmware / behaviour?
My big issue with this alarm clock is that the music alarm isn't reliable. Every other day the alarm is silent and no music plays. If you are going to build an alarm clock, the first thing you should do is make sure set alarms work reliably. That's pretty basic Q.A. Also it doesn't perform a basic function that I had with the 10 year old clock I had to replace - It won't play music from my attached iTunes device as an alarm even though I can cast music to the clock speaker manually.
Some of the LED have gone out now, very hard to read the numbers, I'm guessing there is no fix for that, but I'm finding it impossible to find a replacement with the Google connection feature, suggestions anyone?
It depends on the previous state: -If clock is on before wifi is off, then it will still show time -If clock and wifi are off, and then clock turns on (only), then it will not show time Hope this helps!
If it had a regular usb-c input for charging (instead of the proprietary connector) you could plug a power bank in between as a backup in case of power outage. Hopefully Lenovo will include this in a future version... or even better, an integrated battery. Great review btw!
That's really clever! There are some laptop power banks that output 12V, so your idea might work with those. It'd definitely be helpful if Lenovo included a battery though. Thanks for watching!
I don't understand the slow charging issues, do you just take 15 minutes nap and expect your phone to be 100% - no, sleep all night, phone is charged, WOW
I cannot setup this piece of shit. It keeps asking to download the nest app but the nest app doesn't recognize what it is. This is going back to wally world.

Damn, you get what you paid for, don't complain!
Good job. Agree all around. Question for you, are you still using it and if so, any technical issues, and if so how long have you had it? Etc

I have the clock, and encountered the same issues as this guy. Currently using it as a desk clock- don't trust it enough as an alarm clock

How do you change the time on it please
Why not just connect the Lenovo clock to the Bluetooth speakers?
This looks like its the old version of their alarm clock. Does the clock still not function on their latest?
If wifi is turned off, does it still show time? Or blank screen? I have the touchscreen version and if wifi is turned off, its a useless clock.

Blinking : dots are unacceptable for me :(
You seem way too critical fella on every aspect of this smart clock based around your ‘unique’ requirements. Not a good review for the general public.

Hey Google, change time format to 24 hours
Is it possible to pair it directly with an external Bluetooth speaker??
yes, you can pair this with a bluetooth speaker
