Absolutely brilliant video. Thanks a lot! One thing one shouldn’t forget is that VA’s aren’t all bad. They usually absolutely destroy IPS panels when it comes to contrast ratios. Because of this I’ll soon be buying my first ever VA monitor. It will be the AOC Q27G3XMN as Monitors Unboxed (same guy as Hardware Unboxed but he made a separate RUclips channel for monitors) ranked it as one of the best overall 1440p monitors you can buy right now. Offering true HDR with 336 dimming zones.

Easy and cheap fix. It made a difference as soon as I put my headphones on and I can wear them for longer now without the fatigue. THANK YOU

I used VA panel for about a year didn't know much about black smearing but after using an IPS panel, I couldn't go back to VA because image looked blurry after IPS, but of course IPS has that annoying backlight bleed. In the end I wished that I went for a high quality VA panel.

The pcba design is very much poorer than sony wh-1000 series.

TN 60 hz are the best

I love the GX85(GX80 or GX7Mii) and GX9. They are feature rich, small, and lightweight. The EVF is small but adequate, not garbage. Also it is there. Many small bodies lack an EVF. Love the touch screen. As this is a photography centric body it is right that the screen tilts. 16MP is all this body needs. The video feature are what you’d expect from a LUMIX camera. Why the microphone jac wasn’t included is a head scratcher. Image quality is excellent. The L monochrome B&W jpeg is very good. The L monochrome D on the GX9 is my favorite B&W jpeg. I was so happy last month to purchase in NYC a GX85 with the battery charger for $300. What a bargain. Glad this body and GX9 aren’t cult classics. Hard to believe this is a 10 year old camera. I highly recommend the GX85/9 for street/travel/EDC.

QUESTION: Toshiba has said the 55" C350 model I just bought from Best Buy is an IPS. However, the screen behaves like a VA with verry poor veiwing angles that lose brightness and color - especially with a color such as orange. For some reason the blue colors aren't as noticeable. But take just one step to the left or right changes the color intensity. That is NOT the behavior of an IPS. That is what happens with a VA. Toshiba uses a VA panel in the 75" model. I'm wondering if the 55" model now uses a VA panel for 2024. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Viewing angles are important.

It would seem my LG 32GK650F VA panel is able to differentiate the black smearing test. This is excellent to see as it gets all the benefits of low contrast, accurate colors, and its cheap. Pretty jazzed!

That's why I always go with trusted IPS Panels.

Immersion is all in the mind, I can get immersed in a book.

I bought a 27 inch 1800R monitor earlier this year and I would never want to go back to a flat one for that size or larger. Having said that, the modest 1800R curve is enough for me at that size and I wouldn't want a smaller radius. But my guess is that the larger I would go, the lower the radius I would be comfortable with.

isnt there a grading for panels?, LG one seems pretty high end and the viewsonic seems like a budget option. basically this VA pannel is a very mediocre compared to better ones. you end up comparing a good unit of an IPS and a mid-range option for a VA. VA are supposed be better for response than IPS. its better to look into that. i only noticed the black smering on a VA when using advanced and ultrafast response time modes (also cheap viewsonic) while IPS has a lot of ghosting aside from blacks.
