I hope cheryl waters gets everything she ever wants in life
I envy her job so much
Stop simping
I adore her
best ever
She's a treasure
I’m pretty sure one day I’ll be in a band with Phoebe Bridgers, statistically speaking.
Same same. xo
I love that about her lol
🤣 Well done!
So, you've already been in The Fall then?
@@bix2003 nice
This is real sad... But my boyfriend who just passed away showed me them..
I was inlove with Phoebe and he was in love with Conor and then he was like hey.... " Did you know...
And then I fell in love with BOCC...
We'd blast y'all and sing along together.. I'm glad I have these memories. Thank you for the music.
I’m very sorry for your loss, Carol.
So, so sorry for your loss. ❤️❤️❤️
I lost my ex girlfriend a few years back. Any form of conor/bright eyes etc still brings back great memories of/with her. Hold onto those. Hope you find comfort in the songs.
I’m really sorry
I’m 66 years old. I’m so sick and tired of people my age saying that there ain’t any good music these days! Are you freaking kidding me? Listen up OG’s!
For sure buddy! Anyone who just looks can find incredible music.
michael you are a legend
and I'm 74 from Denmark and this band is one of my biggest favorites, the next are Neil Young, Phoebe Bridgers, Conor Oberst, Julien Baker and Hand Habits
@@wernerhedegaard4311 werner you absolute g
@@wernerhedegaard4311 60 years older than me and still a great music taste
The fucking power move of Phoebe making Conor sing backup on his own song.
Singing someone else's song that is better than most of your entire catalog is NOT a power move.
The respect move of Phoebe*
Likely was his idea tbh.
@@floriantinschert5542 As a lifelong Conor Oberst fan, I'm 100% sure that it was. This comment from more than a year ago was just a joke. :)
@@chrisjensen1924 lol I kinda figured.
Whoever the sound folk for KEXP are there brilliant. Every set I’ve listened to from this room is so well balanced.

Who cares ... this is one crappy collaboration ... total shite !

Phoebe with ponytail and headphones is everything
Don't forget about the jumpsuit. Never forget about the jumpsuit.
that widow's peak man
The record blows
No one seems to comment on HOW CATCHY and GREAT their songs are.
I think that's implied
that’s why we’re here lol
Their songs are really catchy and great!
That Easy/Lucky/Free performance was ICONIC
That version of Easy/Lucky/Free should be placed in a fireproof version of the Library of Alexandria.
I think the internet IS a fireproof version of the Library of Alexandria
I was a real late-comer to the BOCC party and had not heard that track until watching this. Damn! Just damn.
Phoebe screaming there is nothing is a mood
Sheryl Waters must enjoy life
she is the queen though. I love when she says "you are in a for a treat!"
The best voice in journalism.
I enjoy life.
I wonder if she smokes Weed?
She’s honestly a terrible interviewer
You ever think about how Phoebe is 3/3 with releases so far and just... wowwwwwwwww :D :D
4/4
Saw Conor and Phoebe in Toronto before better oblivion community center, before stranger in the Alps had come out. They preformed Lua and it might have been the most amazing thing I ever heard
There isn't a better person to interview musicians. She asks the best questions and is so warm. I love her.
I vote nardwuar
In an interview Phoebe said that she wants to be known as a versatile singer, singing lots different styles and not only one...And I have the impression that BOCC turned out so well in that aspect. She and Conor seem to really enjoy not only the playing but each others company. They seem to balance each other out not only artistically but on the human level aswell..A joy to watch and listen to..
Greenalex89 it’s cause they fucking
@@lambchopzzzzzzz isn't he still married tho
MidnightLightMusic he seems like a guy who would push his wife to let him practice polygamy

Phoebe's smile while singing "there is nothing" on Easy/Lucky/Free is everything
her voice itself during that is fucking freeing, I go back to this video cause its not like this on the album it was just that moment. Yeah the smile too tho.
That version of easy/lucky/free is on my all time favorite list. Just out and away . The music is amazing and phoebe is having so much fun. Hope they record more songs
That's Griff from Dawes on drums. He's a great drummer and deserves recognition.
I was searching for sk. Eone else who noticed!!! Also Wylie recorded the bass on the album
Dawes are all individually masters at their craft. And collectively, they're bigger than themselves. I can't think of a band that sounds so deep and complicated, but simple, honest and innocent that's around today. Not a band that has its own unique 70's vibe in a completely modern and interesting way like those boys do anyway. People are gonna discover their music for years to come and wonder how they snuck through this time in music largely underappreciated and unnoticed. I think its a good thing. I wouldn't wanna risk compromising Dawes free creative flow for extra success.
@@leeasbury7273 In Belgium we have ‘Balthazar’. A band in which each member has it’s own project. Really worth looking into! Your comment triggered me to share them with you :)
Side projects of the members:
-Warhaus
-J. Bernardt
-Zimmerman
-Nightman
Know what cymbals he’s got? Hard to see in the video. Looks like the hats are paiste but not sure what the others are
The Better Oblivion Community Center has helped me through my fear of cheddar cheese. They do great work, i would recommend them to help solve your life's struggles.
I can verify.. they also helped me to get over my addiction to cheese😅
Thank goodness they offer Sacred Crystal Implantation/ Removal ! I really needed it....until I didn't !!

The cheez will drag you to hell. Bless these freedom fighterz
Do you have list of the local centers in my area?
I like that Band Built to Spill...they brought me through the Restroom Stall life..I'm good now, thanks to them
love how Phoebe and Conor's voice interweave
I'm loving Phoebe being so happy
I love how Conor is still performing Bright Eyes songs.
get got they’re timelessly composed man
didn't know what I was in for is just BEAUTIFUL
I read this comment right when they were singing that line...woh
I've watched this performance at least 30 times 10 of which today alone. They're all notch musicians, song writers and the audio engineering is amazing as always KEXP. Cheryl's enthusiasm for music is infectious too.
This performance deserves so much more attention. They play so well together. It's amazing.
Still listening to this in 2022!
This old man finally found Lyrics on the par of Dylan. Both of em. ❤Thank you.
All love.
Easy/Lucky/Free is one of my favorite songs ever.
mine too, for forever!:)
Can we all just appreciate christian lee hutsons guitar playing for a second
He is very good.
his album is so good and you can tell phoebe produced it

Okay, so this is where my heart has been hiding.
Side comment, dude on the drums was awesome! Such passion
I've been waiting for this KEXP session to come out for too long! Amazing work, excited to get into this project!
My favorite version of didn't know what I was in for
Cheryl Waters is such a gem and asks amazing questions
I left my heart in Seattle....KEXP continues to bring me joy after my heartbreak.
2019 is a great year for new records. Better Oblivion Community Centre, Sharon Van Etten, Jenny Lewis. I'm spending all my money on vinyl and gigs and I'm broke! By the way, congrats to the engineers on this, the sound is incredible.
that last song was SO GOOD live, I'm so happy it is recorded here
Phoebe singing Easy/Lucky/Free just ripped my heart apart. Absolutely beautiful.
I just love that they do Easy/Lucky/Free. I thought I would never see Bright Eyes again, and then I went to see this new band of his and they played this as an encore... it was incredible.
Jen Gypsy DAMMMMNNNNNNNN
this version of dylan thomas is so good it hurts
Gawd damn - second song was chilling . These two are nuts.
Thank KEXP.
I love Cheryl Waters and KEXP is one of the best things I've ever found! So much love
So glad they recorded this version of Easy/Lucky/Free. That was killer on tour. I hope they record a studio version of Funeral at some point as well.
Tynan O'Brien THERE IS NOTHING!
Funeral is Phoebes song and does have a studio recording
@@kikoonthemove Oh yeah, what I meant is that Easy Lucky Free is a Bright Eyes song that Phoebe takes over on. They were playing Funeral live with Conor on lead, and it's much faster and louder. It's a cool new version. Check out some live versions.
Tynan O'Brien yes yes yes to this I’ve been saying we need a studio version of Conor’s Funeral since I saw them live. It was so great, such a bright eyes/desaparecidos vibe
Amazing how joyful it is to watch Phoebe scream-sign (while smiling), "There is nothing! There is nothing!" on Easy/Lucky/Free. I loved everything about this set.
28:30 Conor decides he might want to make another Bright Eyes record. Thanks for the great session BOCC and KEXP!
This Easy/Lucky/Free rendition is absolutely gorgeous.
I don't think anyone, including themselves, realize what a great song "little trouble" is. If the Beatles recorded it, we'd all know the words by heart.
I love this project. Love both their voices, love how they blend. Two great songwriters.
Seriously grateful for KEXP for putting up these amazing sets and also grateful for all the unreal musicians that come through that studio.
I feel that what Conner said about Phoebe stands true for a lot of folks. It wasn’t until I came back and realized it was like all of life’s experiences that you just accept
Thanks again KEXP. Whatever I click on I know the performances will be worth watching even if it isn't my kind of band.
Little Trouble is one of my all time top favorite songs
How great Phoebe's and Conor's voices sound together!
This is one of the best mixed performances they've ever done
if you don't love these songs then we can't be friends.
Please continue this project 🙏🙏
Whatever pheobe touches turns to gold. Shes a legend building her legacy. Edit, now with a grammy in her hands
Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst? Yes please.
Love this band and that last Bright Eyes song was mind blowingly amazing!
Cheryl Waters is my favourite musical hush puppy
How I've been waiting for a new Easy/Lucky/Free live performance.. Sad he never sings it anymore.
Sheryl Waters. wonderful lady great host. ... Hi to everybody from Duesseldorf, Germany
Her guitar is so beautiful ⭐⭐⭐
The first number is magical.
HOW DID IT TAKE 2 DAYS TO GET INTO MY ALGORITHM
haha love that
It took about four months for me
Thankyou Kexp.💓
I am ashamed to admit how many times I’ve watched this. BOCC reunion pls 😭
Working for KEXP must be one of the best jobs on the planet, there's nothing like this in the UK sadly
“...living’s just a promise that I made” has to be a Conor line. It’s so good
Papa John existential/suicidal ideation is our boy’s brand
sounds like both of them honestly
Griff bringing the energy. Love his style🤘
Love this performance by Phoebe and friends, really nicely produced & mixed and .. Sheryl Waters is ON for the interviews.
I love the big jangly guitars. Great postmodern folk rock! Phoebe Bridgers gets around with a lot of great musicians and singers. Keep going.
One of my favorite collabs in the last 5 years, along with boygenius of course! What an unlikely yet amazing duo. Hope they aren't just a one-off!
22:04 "doppelgänger you look just like" that couldn't have been unintentional
These Kids are fantastic! I can’t get enough of them right now.
Another drummer live on KEXP losing his goddamn mind
hahahahaha
That's Griffin Goldsmith from Dawes, he's always losing his mind on every performance. One of the most entertaining drummers out there.
@@vevvenennevvev5945 Yup. Band is tight too. Absolutely reccomend, one of my favorites
as soon he starting playing he became possessed
@TalkToTheBody 22:08 is my favorite
Shes special
Love the drummer! Phoebe and Connor amazing as well of course!
Chad I believe that’s Griffin Goldsmith from Dawes
voice and song
lol the argument with Griffin Goldsmith (the drummer) they were talking about during the interview stayed on the record. It is in the intro to Sleepwalking. Before they start playing (the intro has a very hard ritardando) Griffin exclaims "I am telling you, it is impossible to count!"
Don't know if anyone noticed, but the bass guitar an drum sound heavenly together.
I have NEVER noticed the hitachi magic wand on her jump suit until today and i have watched/listened to this AT LEAST 3 times a month wowowow
Easy/ Lucky/ Free freaking amazing
А мне вот только сейчас в душу вошло. Попал случайно. Молодцы форево
Phoebe, you are so gosh darn beautiful
Amazing version of Easy/Lucky/Free.
Phoebe and Conor... wow. No other words. Thank you KEXP for always sharing amazing performances with us!
I would love to have a studio version of easy/lucky/free!
There’s been one for 14 years!
Jonas Banta Hahahaha!
This gave me a good laugh!
@@elda7153 these fuckin phobe fans have no idea how good bright eyes is lmfao . alrhough phobe is cool too some of the fans are cringe
That last song is deep joy
Got all my mates into em with Dylan Thomas, then hooked em with My City and Sleepwalkin
Lovely guitar Phoebe💗
Love Cheryl ❤
Fantastic! Please make more albums guys :) !!!
Been waiting for this one.
RAD!! GREAT Job You Guys! ALASKA and I are HEARTFELT, appreciated.
The second song is hitting me hard 🤘🏻
