Code: SPN for 10% off Blacksmith Tactical Holsters. My go to is the v2 holster with double discrete carry clips and a wedge. And if you have under a 3.7” barrel, get a wedge!! Respect
The PX4 subcompact was my first, very first, firearm. I didn't know how to buy a gun. It shoots snappy, no good for a firsttimer, but very reliable. I never liked it 'till recently. I took the safety off and removed the little tiny ball bearing on the safety pin making it a G decocker only. While I had the thing apart I removed the paint off the extractor, safety/decocker levers, breakdown pin, and the slide lock lever. I also ground the decocker levers flat so they fit flush with the slide. I now have a nice two-tone look to it, and it is very, very unique. Plus the model is now discontinued. It is now my favorite gun. I'm deadly with that thing. I'll never get rid of it.
I have the sub compact and its my favorite gun. And 13rd mag, and 17rd mag with sleeve which give you plenty to grip. Its a bit heavy but I will never part with it.
I've seen through the years allot of people complaining about the PX4 Sub compact for not having a rotating barrel. But there is an extremely good reason for it, the Rotating barrel design is not a very size efficient system. For example, if I take a pistol with conventional tilt barrel that has a 4 inch barrel and compare it to a pistol with a rotating barrel that has a 4 inch barrel, the pistol with the rotating barrel will have more slide length. The PX4 sub compact already has a barrel length of 3 inches, to keep that overall length. With a rotating barrel system, you'll end up with a barrel length of well under 3 inches. Why is barrel length an issue for carry pistols???? The answer is simple, your ammo choices, when you start going into the sub 3.5 inch barrel realm, you really need to start choosing your SD ammo wisely and start looking at ammo optimized for Micro 9's as JHP SD ammo can fail to perform as intended if your velocities are not adequate. So my ending conclusion is, if you carry sub compact and Micro 9 pistols where the barrels are sub 3.5 inches, start thinking wisely about your carry ammo choices as JHP SD ammo's primary function and goal is, to prevent over penetration as you need to account for where your shot ends up. And if you are carrying a sub compact or Micro 9, forget the concept of blind barrier ammo as those ammo's for like Critical Duty 135gr was designed for pistols with a barrel length of 4 inches plus (duty size pistols). Excellent review, really enjoyed this channel so far.
Perfect timing on this review. I was looking for the sub compact but it got discontented, so I thought I had to stay with a full size Px4, and seek something smaller, but seeing the Px4 carry 2 I am going to go seek it out to handle and try.
PX4 Subcompact 9mm has been my EDC for about 14 years now. I like the heft and the capacity. I think recoil is mitigated well by it's weight. Having said that, I am considering updating. Thanks for the comparison. It was very helpful. I wonder how well the new version would fit with the old subcompact holsters? Those sold by Beretta are not cheap. I also have the full size PX4 Storm. Love em both.
One of the main advantages for me is that double action first trigger pull. In my mind it's a much safer option than the typical striker fired triggers. Glock leg is a real thing.
@@berniemadoff7837 You still need to keep safety at the top of your priorities no matter what your experience level is. Especially when you are drawing and holstering your carry gun. Every accident gives the gun control people more ammo to try and strip them from law abiding citizens especially when people blame the gun. That being said the Sig P320 may be an example of where blaming the gun, or at least Sig's quality control in manufacturing, can genuinely be blamed.
I bought my PX4 Compact Carry straight from Langdon Tactical. I absolutely love it and plan on carrying it in the winter. One thing you didn’t mention that you should is the reset on the trigger. It’s the shortest I’ve ever seen. It is so much fun to shoot that you won’t realize how quickly you go through ammo. It’s a beast that will last you forever. They don’t break..
Subcompact is designed for very safe carry, built sturdy for 40 caliber, has a handle that's not too fat or thin (and has backplates - I like the small). There's something to be said in favor of a Browning toggle bolt - those are well proven in the field. Yes, it's heavier than the Glock 27/G26, but a heavier slide is proven in the XD Subcompact (your experiences with it convinced me to get one too). Unfortunately in my state we only get the 4". I would go for subcompact before the compact, although if the compact were "legal" here, I would have started with the middle, "goldilocks" sized one instead of the full size.
Like the comparison. I have the subcompact in 9mm and love it! I put the grip kit on it and it really helps. Also just sent mine to Langdon for upgrades...:-)))
The polymer frame pistols first designed around the .40 were generally more durable and trouble-free than 9mms bored out to .40. The M&P 40 was one such pistol that didn’t get a lot of attention for durability problems cause it was designed as a .40 (it was dissed cause of its sometimes lousy trigger). The Beretta 96 and Glocks were examples of how rushing up-chambered 9s into production as .40s resulted in a lot of problems. I never paid much attention to the Beretta PX4s but I might start keeping an eye out for a good deal.
I bought both. I got px4 storm carry 2 because I was fascinated by it and the APX A1 because it was so cheap. Any beretta under $300 is a deal to me. Haven’t fired either yet. I know px4 feels heavy, you’ll never forget it’s there like a Pico. I hate the name though. So long and numbers with words. I guess one guy wanted px4 and the other guy wanted storm so they compromised and kept both then added carry 2, why not just px5?
Before covid the PX4 was very unpopular and cheap used. Durring covid RUclipsrs started to praise it and the price sky rocketed. I passed up a langdon compact gently used for 420$ Kicking myself now.
There is not actually any xgrip type product for the 15 rounder in the subcompact. Only for the 17 rounder. I had to 3d print one for mine. But it works.
Hey man love your videos got me into having more then one firearm. I was about to hit the button to purchase a master arms defender 9mm. Century arms has them for like 400 rn due to Fourth of July sale. Can you do a review on that please and thank you. Love the videos much appreciated.
The 9mm rotating barrel is phenomenal for reliability and recoil mitigation. I don’t think they’ll create a rotating barrel smaller than the new carry 2
I have the full size in .40 and yeah pretty bad stippling I slapped some no name brand rubber grip on it when I bought it and pretty much been perfect since then.
Talon Grips. No sending the weapon off for over priced stippling... Rubber or Sand .. my delicate hands like the rubber... I don't need any additional calluses.

Rotating barrel really helps with the 40SW version. This handgun was designed from the ground up as a 40 back when 40 was more popular than 9.
sub compact is not a rotate barrel

You can use the full size 14 rd mag (40) or 17rd (9 mm) with a sub compact adapter. Seamlessly extends the grip
That mag extension is craaazy!!
Isn’t it? It’s so cool. Smart! Respect

Yeah if you're careless with the firearm.

It’s an amazing gun isn’t it. Ugh I want one now 😂
I second your comment, have one as well. Not in love with grip traction, working on solutions for that now. Other than that, it’s a keeper.

I really enjoy your tutorial because I'm looking to purchase the PX PS4 next year again thank you for the tutorial I enjoyed it
That’s the compact carry. Upgraded trigger installed from factory. Different from standard compact
Love the Px4 CC2. Mine had an irregular reset which was solved with installation of an optimized trigger bar from Langdon.
Like the comparison. I have the subcompact in 9mm and love it! I put the grip kit on it and it really helps. Also just sent mine to Langdon for upgrades...:-)))

Have you checked out the Beretta APX? They are on sale for really good prices.
I've been very interested in the berreta apx a1 carry and the compact version both of them have good reviews on here tho whenever I look them up.

Cant go wrong...Beretta 💯💪👊
I have the compact. The full-size 17-round magazine works in them also.
Highly interested in this comparison. Thank you

I'm surprised by how much the used one cost given that the 9mm full version often sells used under $350.
Some years back, there was a Sig/Mauser combo that the barrel also rotated.
The 9mm rotating barrel is phenomenal for reliability and recoil mitigation. I don’t think they’ll create a rotating barrel smaller than the new carry 2
Talon grips work great on them, but of course I like Talons, I put them on all my pistols.
I have the full size in .40 and yeah pretty bad stippling I slapped some no name brand rubber grip on it when I bought it and pretty much been perfect since then.
Barrel is recessed like this to protect it in the case that it is dropped.
I like the carry 2, if i change my carry (g3c), it's gonna be this carry 2.
Watching this while holding my subcompact 40s&w version with the 17rd mag🐺🙏🏾😎💯
Talon Grips. No sending the weapon off for over priced stippling... Rubber or Sand .. my delicate hands like the rubber... I don't need any additional calluses.
Get the Handle it grips for the subcompact. They are nice
Don’t they come with talon grips? I know that the compact carry should 🤔
Is that a bull barrel on the subcompact? Pretty dramatically flared out if that’s the case. I like the pinky extension too.
I just want to find a holster for my compact carry
Love your vids bro! You should get a Taurus TH45🔥
can the subcompact mag fit in the carry 2?
If you get your hands on a Grand Power p11... would make a grrrreat versus vid - ijs 😅
How much is that beretta what is it in 9mm would like it in 40
You can find the subcompacts in .40 for like 400-500 online used! Respect
Is the compact carry 2 thinner than the subcompact?
You can easily make yours decock only. You just buy a kit from Beretta.
Been carrying the grand power That is the same rotating barrel ..I have full size px4 there under rated guns
They should have alot of decent parts for good prices on the beretta website
Love my Storm SC.
Can you get the rotating barrel one with a optic cut
Yes from Langdon tactical
@@zacharymccoin5431 well thanks at least someone will respond on dudes videos, I quit watching him cause he never would after like 10 attempts lol
How much do the mags with the folding bit cost?
I picked a brand new 9mm mag w/ pinkie extension for storm sub compact $45.00 on GUNBROKER
Ok, so shorter barrel means you're not getting the most out of your ammunition . Am I wrong?
Not wrong, but trade offs for portability
The compact is a Langdon tactical custom, that’s not factory
Stippling is cosmetic. It does not make anyone a better shooter. Quote, from the late, great, James Yeager.

So these 2 are actually the compact and subcompact.
Right on the PX4 Subcompact, but the other “compact” is called PX4 Carry 2; so as not to be confused with the midsize PX4 Compact
"Yours" is not a rotating barrel so the engineering is completely different
A rotating barrel with a non-reciprocating red dot is gon be the future potentially 👀
sun compact is not rotating barrel
It gives me Daisy vibes
damn the carry 2 is so much better than my original. anyone wanna trade ?
I’m trying to sale my px4 compact if anyone’s interested.
Where
that thing is so ugly i bet it shoots good though all that matters
In person they grow on ya. And shoot great. Try one!
