When I was a teenager I watched “The Dance” by Fleetwood Mac and found myself watching Lindsay Buckingham instead of Mick Fleetwood. My dad’s friend taught me “Big Love” which got that thumb independent. Then I just learned songs I liked from friends or RUclips, John Mayer, Andy McKee ect having no idea what I was playing note and chord wise. But always a harder song each time. I never had a teacher, I just learned the caged system this year! So I’m pretty behind on theory. Never read music or tabs. I did sign up a few years ago to the website Pro Guitar by Emil Ernebro and find his playing amazing. I stole a lot from him. Looking back, I wish I had a teacher, just by learning the caged system a lot has opened up to me on the neck now.
