thank you...very clear. is there a compact video transmitter for the camera....so you dont need to buy two monitors?
Yes, the Hollyland Mars 4K should be what you're looking for
Im looking at the Portkeys BM7 II DS or the Hollyland Mars M1.
The thing is, when going on a gimbal, you dont need a monitor, but still need a transmitter to see the video when watching on a monitor elsewhere.. So, in either case, Ill need a separate transmitter. Not sure which monitor would be better though
just out of curiosty wouldnt it be more practical to do the range test in like a real world situation , like in a place inside or more dense area
Well, the claim by Hollyland is 150m line of sight and that is what I tested. But I guess one could test for example how many walls it can handle. However, then it would depend on what kind of walls they are: the materials, how thick are they, and so.
I guess the line of sight test shows that the signal is decent enough for handling most real world situations. Because you typically won't be that far away from the camera...
now. in 2024 when you can use Sony app to monitor and control your camera. Do you think we still need hollylands? (considering scenarion when latency isn't a big issue). Would you recommend buying a brighter monitor instead and sticking with the sony app?
I have no current experience with the Sony app. I know the older one was pretty horrible and buggy.
But still I prefer to have a dedicated monitor that has the possibility for things like LUTs, waveforms, false color, etc.
Besides that, the Hollyland connects to other Hollyland monitors or to your phone. I don't know if the Sony app allows sharing your screen with other devices?
i personally don’t think the monitor+ app is reliable enough
Great video! It's there anything similar to this device but brighter?
Great video, dead link however.
Thanks! The product link seems to work here. But I updated it just in case.
Is the latency 0.08 acceptable , it's almost 0.1 which means 3-4 frames drop.
Its a shame it doesn't work with the hollyland mars
so when you frame the product like overhead shot, do you also just use your table crane setup? Like in 0:30? The one you show in the other video? The Vioson Desktop Liver Stand? and your shot at 0:01 is a very cool shot.
I hate the HDMI on the side it would be perfect if you could record internally and the HDMI was on the back, and be able to send the video to a computer.
HDMI on the back would be more convenient yep 👍
Hi! great Video with nice overview.
Can the monitor recive Wifi transfared signal from other devices like a Dji Raveneye?
Because Raveneye is sending wifi Signals and if the Monitor could recive those, it would be a budget version of the Dji Wireless Transmitters which are not in everyones Pricerange!
No I don't think that will work unfortunately. Raveneye works with the DJI app. As far as I know, it won't send it to any other device.
These things usually only work within their own brands eco system.
As soon as I heard about the lag I said nope…….
Do you know if it is possible to begin recording using the monitor? I know that with the app you can record the feed but can you trigger it to start rolling?
No you cannot start recording with the monitor
@@SightseeingStan oh rip, still thanks for clarifying
Literally you sound like Oaken The shopkeeper in Frozen Disney movie. 🤣 Haha!
I don't hear the resemblance but OK haha!
@@SightseeingStan 🤣 haha ok
The lag on the monitor is crazy though
true
what is more strange - even through the HDMI cable. That's a pity. I could survive a wireless connection lag in certain scenarios but otherwhise... that's a no.
@@ghospod the fact that not a single "content creator" on youtube mentions this is very telling...
I bought this and returned it as soon as I noticed how laggy it is. Almost a full second of delay??? Ridiculous
Thank you so match
Welcome!
So, with 4k 60p, how does this monitor behaves? Will it display? Or won't show display at all?
What do you mean? It will show the feed coming from the HDMI from your camera
@@SightseeingStan i mean that you said the monitor supports up to 4k 30p. So if we set camera at 4k 60p. Would it still show live feed? But downgrade it to 1080p?
@@Mechrank it will show the 4k feed
@@SightseeingStani didn't get what you meant at 00:55
Thank you for making this video! Stay blessed!
Thank you!
Is there wireless camera control?
No it doesn't have that function
This wireless setup is awesome!
Is it compatible with Cosmo C1?
Lol .. That monitor is more expensive than the camera itself.
Thanks for sharing! Really enjoyed the video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Is there Waveform ?
Yes on the monitor as well as on the app
Do you know if it's possible use a power bank to feed the monitor rather than use a NP regular battery, thank you!
You can use something like a V mount battery with D-tap. But it doesnt have any kind of USB power delivery no
Is there a 7 inch option ?
No, Hollyland currently only offers a 5,5 inch version
how does this compare to the ninja? storage ?
Question:
So I bought this unit, and when I tap record on the monitor, it doesn’t record to my FX30’s SD card. How do I do that?
Did you sort this out?
@@OnMyTrek looks like I can’t record directly to the Fx30. :(
@@ShadelessDen 🥹 i ended up buying one today too
@@ShadelessDenit's a monitor bro you record to your camera
@@RockstarCinemahey! Yes, but it has a record feature. But it only records to the actual monitor…unfortunately.
First time viewer here and thought I'd mention that there's something off putting about the way you've framed this video. It reminds me of the .5 lens on the iphone that stretches everything at the edges of the frame. The angle has you appearing "above" the viewer as if you're looking down a bit, and your active hands feel like they're "in my face" and coming at me (or reprimanding me?) which is unsettling. I am watching on 1.5 speed which exaggerates these things, but I thought I'd mention my experience.
😑... okay... I'm just gonna scroll down...
Waffle… great framing. This isn’t supposed to be a feature film
haha 😂
