the reason it records and doesn't save it per say is because , its supposed to be for when you are transmitting to other devices like your directors phone, your video village, or other people who are connected receiving the image, they can actually record and save the file to their phone to do like notes and stuff etc

Long story short, its only a Director Monitor for Run & Gun set ups. Maybe next Gen they will update for more functions
yea the record option makes no sense to me either. I originally thought it was an option to start rec on the camera but i cant get it to do that either on a7s3.

It does have false color. It's the sixth icon from the left at 3:38. I'm not sure why he wrote that caption saying it doesn't have it.
