What are your thoughts on LEGO Marvel as a theme in 2025? Also if you enjoyed the video, please consider subscribing, this is one of my longest videos and took a full day of editing!
As an overall I feel like for LEGO the best way is focus more on comic based sets since for example the new iron man vs Ultron mech for 15 dollars is first time in some time that I have been a little bit excited for LEGO marvel but the main issue in my opinion is that LEGO really needs to stop making to many MCU sets as them trying to Improve older sets was fine back in 2020 and 2021 but now it’s just boring and with increase of prices for LEGO there is even less of desire to pick these updated versions of the old sets so I hope they focus mostly on comic based sets with new characters and only make MCU sets if there is a new film coming out and no more remake of older MCU sets
I prefer the comic designs to the films, so I really want more sets and characters based on them. I really want to get Silk, Moon Girl, Devil Dinosaur and a proper comic based lizard and electro. At least it's not as bad as DC, which is just Batman and Joker (Minus the Superman mech). 9:38, actually, those legs were also used on Deathstroke.
The first spiderman sets you mentioned are NOT comic based, they were based on the Ultimate Spiderman shoe back then. So it looks comic book but it's technically not, is still based on tv/movie media
You’ve hit the nail on the head with this one last year I did a wrap up of all the marvel minifigures for 2023 and if it wasn’t for the avengers tower and CMF we would’ve had only Morbius as a new character which is wild. 2025 all ready has 4 brand new characters Trapster, Spot, Officer Davies and Anti venom 😊😊
@@lukehannah4554 nope, that was anya corazon spider girl. This is the first appearance of the julia carpenter spider-woman. There was a comic con Jessica drew spider-woman and the last widely available spider-woman was the ultimate universe jessica drew spider-woman with the all red suit and white spider logo.
I want more comic sets/ characters/ costumes so bad. I've always preferred the comics, and once I got a minifig, I like of each of the main MCU Avengers line up, I've never really needed others. So, a lot of the mcu sets I skip since it's always the same characters.
I found the Marvel theme fun but after a while, much more difficult to get. To me I would rather collect infinity stones and be find without the other sets.
It was really after Spiderman No Way Home where the sets took a sharp turn. Mainly because they kept making sets of of scenes not in the movie because the information given to them was bad.
The "comic book" sets your referring to, weren't based or refered to the comics(mostly). The Spider-Man sets had characters and locations from the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. The Avengers ones were for the Avengers Assemble cartoon and the Hulk vs Red Hulk one for Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H cartoon. The only ones that could had been considered comicbook-y would be the X-Men ones.
Something I miss is actual building play sets. Most play sets are all mechs or a vehicle, and if there are play set there either really tiny or overly expensive
Maybe us Lego Marvel fans should start annoying Lego and constantly demand better Marvel sets when Lego does anything, just like how MandR and the rest of the Lego SW fans bullied Lego into making a 501st battle pack.
small correction at 4:10 that exact scorpion comes in a 4+ set that came out 2 years later in 2018, 10754 (I only know bc i got my scorpion there lmao) but it doesnt invalidate what you said, if anything just shows that these older minifigure CAN pop up but Lego aint doing stuff
2:50 Those sets were not comic based. They were based off of the various Marvel shows of the time, but as they loss success, Lego would stop producing those sets. They would not guarantee a profit due to children’s lack of exposure.
I always thought the "comic" sets was based on the animated shows at the time, ultimate Spiderman, avengers assemble, and hulk and the agents of S.M.A.S.H as alot of the sets lined up with those shows, especially the designs for super adaptoid, green goblin and beetle
I miss how awesome Marvel sets used to be. Now it’s just nonstop vehicles, repeated Venom figures, mechs and a lack of new characters. I’ve been collecting LEGO Marvel since I was six in 2012, and I loved collecting the sets especially the ones with characters I didn’t even know and I enjoyed it because it gave me more knowledge about the Marvel universe as I grew up like for instance the sets helped me learn who the rest of the Avengers were since the only Marvel heroes I knew were Iron Man, Hulk and Spider-Man. So if I was a kid now, I’d still hate getting Venom sets all the time as well. My point is although LEGO intends to have their Marvel sets appeal to kids, they should be more creative like they used to introduce new characters they can learn of like Doctor Doom, Galactus, perhaps some more X-Men in the mix. It’ll be great since we’re getting a Fantastic Four set next year
I know this is unrelated to the video, but the video clips from whatever movie or game that was looked awesome with Thanos spinning his blade around against Thor. Where was that from?
I think the problem is with Lego Marvel and DC is they are putting out way to many movie based figures . How many Spiderman ,Iron man , Batman , Venom , Miles Spiderman do we really need? We don't need that many . We don't need the mechs , Motorcycles, or countless Bat Mobiles or Bat caves . Give me a Hydra Base with a classic Captain America, Teen Titans Tower with the classic characters not the dumb cartoon version. Give us a Hall of Justice with some of the classic heroes and villians. A big fig Thing, Solamen Gorndy big fig with the All Star Squadron . Make some more figure packs. And while were at it bring back the video games . But stay away from MCU and DCU.
LEGO Marvel doesn’t have a diverse cast of characters. Laughs in LEGO DC (oops all Batman) Seriously though, I understand the whole marketing thing behind making MCU sets, but people are BEGGING for more comic based sets. I want to see more interesting characters instead of the 30th new Iron Man suit that barely looks different from the last ones. There are SO many characters they could bring back like Doctor Doom, but LEGO seems to just avoid comics for their Super Heroes line, for some reason. And of course, this isn’t limited to just the Marvel side of things.
More and more, these licensed IPs become unattractive purchases. I may just stop getting Lego Star Wars as a whole due to the ludicrous prices and poor quality figs.
@@saltylemonton5537 nah Marvel has it so much worse then Star Wars. With Star Wars it was always super overpriced, and the quality has gotten a bit better. But with Marvel the quality has dropped of the earth and it has doubled in price for a kids set.
@GrantGraff I dont know, man, the new jedi interceptors are now 45 dollars! These sets at most are 30 dollars and honestly closer to 25 dollar sets. Jabba sail barge is also 500 dollars, which should be 300 dollars. Sorry about the X-mansion btw, thats a rough one.
Because they're fixed. New helmets open up and while they don't look the most accurate on every single suit they're still better than unopenable one. Although I still wish there was a classic Iron Man minifigure with the unopenable helmet.
No offence, I respect your opinion but I disagree Your problems with 2023 are easily solvable: repeated builds sell well and are great for newer fans (like me), wait till they've gone on sale if you don't want to pay a price and I can think of bad builds outside of possibly the buildable figs
100% I don't think its as big a problem for newer fans as older ones like me, who remember when all those other sets were on shelves, I'm mostly concerned about minifigures when collecting lego too, especially superheros since its very character focussed :)
for people who always yap about lego having a budget keep in mind this is a multi billion dollar company and they need to increase the quality of figures for these horrible prices
Saying the older ant man is a better build than the new one is honestly just arrogant as hell, the new one is definitely a better version, the set itself is ass that's true but the new ant man build is better.
purely subjective though, I like the old one better because its a giant version of the regular minifigure, where as the newer one feels like its a completely different type of toy altogether, being a large scale action figure
