The first one was hard broke, second one flew parts and a maintenance crew in to fix the first one. The second one loaded the heli and continued with the mission.

Well since the President of the United States of America isn't on board this VH-60N Blackhawk, the callsign isn't going to be MARINE 1. Nice try though. Right now there will be no callsign issued until the Blackhawk is back in flight configuration.
Why? Problem with the C17?
That's the only reason that makes sense to me. It took them what looks like an hour or more to move the helicopter and equipment with lots of people making it happen. A repair could have only needed an hour with the right mechanic with one part.
Probably a duty day restriction.

@@Austin_H7 Why not just change crew for that? Broken A/C makes more sense. and knowing repair procedures, there's no such thing as a quick fix. Not when certification checks are included, plus making sure all the tools and removed parts are accounted for.
@@DieyoungDiefast There's been plenty of situations where the original aircraft is fragged to go elsewhere using a totally different mission number after the initial offload from the get-go. I've done exactly this before. How do you even know C-17 MX was available at this location? This crew probably had a flying crew chief assigned to handle general MX issues anyway. Original crew probably timed-out their duty day and lateraled the cargo off to another tail. If you claim to know the MX process, then just go look up the tail numbers in the system and find out for yourself.
