I always wanted to compare the 2 variant wheel cleaner as ACID has been making it's way out last couple years, Meguiars has discontinued Wheel Brightner this year. Acid products have more regulations for shipping direct to consumer so that's another factor, I still think it's a viable option a lot of shops are using it daily. Obviously for regular maintenance on well maintained cars this isn't needed at all but I wanted to put this video out there for those who wants to dig in and geek out about care car products. The 2 wheels were coming out the same car but weren't equally caked up but in the end Adam's did way better, like I mentioned in the video I'm sure Wheel Brightener would've done better with stronger dilution than 4:1 but that'd be for another video.

I just used Adam’s on tires that hadn’t been cleaned in 2 years and tire blooming as well in those 2 years. I used full strength and took around 4-5 passes. Amazing results.

I’ve always used Meg’s Brighter. For maintenance I dilute 4-1. Done on a cool rim with some brushing, it seems to usually do the trick. I’m going to give Adams’s a try though. Thanks for the video.

Salut Francois, i used the Wheel Brightener from Meguiars and Tolco acid sprayer, i have disposed of so many sprayers that i gave up on the wheel brightener all together and exclusively used P&S brake buster for my all my maintenance wheel wash, at the moment i use Iron X if i need my bite in conjunction with P&S and Tar X. That Adam's Wheel & tire cleaner is a beast of a product. Nice video.
Hey salut! Seems like you have a good process for wheels. For acid and sprayers they need to be flushed out after every couple use if not everytime when not in used, spray some hot water through the mechanism couple times unclug and works fine in most cases. Cheers
Adams wheel and tire is my go to tire cleaner. I have yet to find another cleaner as effective for the cost. Retyre looks really good but it’s expensive
They are both excellent, happy you found something you like and Adam's wheel & tire is a beast :)
You should try Shine Supply Wise Guy, or Autofanic's Wheel Cleaner.

Have you tried SONAX the beast or Surf City Garage Code Red? I love Adam’s wheel & tire cleaner. But i think SONAX the beast and Surf City Garage code red works better. Also try Superior products dark fury or wire wheel cleaner.

Koch chemie fe, way better then wheel brightner;)
I havent tried it but im sure it is. To be fair WB would have eaten that at 1:1 dilution
@@Detailing_Dogma fe would’ve ate it at 1/5 I think. But it’s on a base of hydrochloric acid so it has a user manual lol.
A good option is Koch Chemie FCL. It's a phosphoric and hydrochloric acid-based wheel cleaner. For an acid it's much safer. 👍

In this specific test yes adams won, and its also great on tires. For the acid like i mentioned in the video, I wouldve up'd the dilution of meguiars wheel brigthener to 1:1 or 1:2 for this caked condition next time around.

That banned wheel acid is weak! 23 years ago I detailed cars and the wheel acid we used would melt everything off the wheels w/o scrubbing just spray and rinse.
Hey man thanks for watching, to get that strength I should of used a stronger dilution such as 1:1 or 1:2 but I ran out of dirty wheels (i used 1:4). We'll revisit this at the end of summer. Cheers
@@Detailing_Dogma We used 1-5 dilution with the old wheel acid I used in the day. But I will say the chance for messing up a wheel was high. You could not let the product sit on the wheel for longer than it took to spray on then rinse off.
I use Poor Boys wheel cleaner for years on my hellcats. It is acid-based and literally eats the spray bottle if you don't rinse the nozzle after. The products he used here are a joke he still had to scrub to get any results. Poor Boys on a Hellcat with Brembo brakes is literally spray and rinse. I make sure I spray it on a cool wheel in the morning when I pull out of the garage to detail my cars twice a week. Track down Poor Boys you won't be disappointed.
Poor buys wheel cleaner is truely spray and rinse.
Hey Dave, the acid here was diluted 1:4, like i mentioned in the video with a more aggressive dilution we would have gotten different results. Cheers

The purple is the combo product. The blue is the wheel cleaner with iron remover. I think he knows what he's using :).
