I just realized that the Duros clearly resembled the look of the classic extraterrestrials you’d see for the 1960s to perhaps the 70s.

I guess we are all on the. same page here trying to answer one of the most important question of both universes: Are Duros actually based on Grey (gray) aliens? Are. they the Greys of the SW universe who abucted humanoids BEFORE the Rakatan Empire?
The funny thing is that the species from ET is canon to the Star Wars universe.

in the legends it is mentioned that humans colonized millions of planets and their population was around 42 Quadrillion, perhaps the Duros or Abednedos have a similar population.

If they had a similar population like the humans in the galaxy, why is there a lack of Duros in Star Wars stories? There are far more Twilek than there are Duros. I would say Humans and Twilek are the success story of the galaxy, be it intentionally or unintentionally, with them being almost everywhere and part of almost every event in galactic history.
@@Bionickpunk We see Twileks a lot because they're often involved in underworld business(willingly or not), and Star Wars has a tendency to take place more in seedy, criminal environments. We also don't go into the core(which they and their colonies are from) often, which probably makes Duros less common; and of course, a pretty significant portion of the Duros population is taken up by their offshoot Neimoidians, who we do see a lot.

One of the few great species on par with humanity's achievements. Them, the Chiss, and Humans are really the greatest species in all of Star Wars, and the stuff in Legends is a great showcase as to why.
Not my absolute favorite, Chiss hold that honor, but I really love the Duros.
Twileks are obviously pretty close to humans, seeing as the 2 can interbreed.
It probably has something to do with the mother machines DNA tampering on belsavis
When I was young, I thought Cad Bane's species was Nemoidian and thought finally a cool Nemoidian. Then I was proven wrong.

A long held theory I've had is that The Chiss are a hybrid between humans , and Duro.
From what I know Chiss are just humans that got separated, isolated and adapted.
🤔 . . . I do ponder if baby Cad Bane, i.e. larval Cad Bane, had whiskery stubbles around his mouth, which actually functioned more like cat whiskers in order to find food than something stylish. Same with female Duros with head hair; they’re actually some sort of sensory focused organ, primarily for keeping their nests safe & such…

Duros some of the first successful space travelers that haven't died out thanks to war, disease or starvation.
I see Cad Bane as a mohawk type.
I find it funny how the Duros are one of the few species to end up in a better position after the Yuuzhan Vong invasion with the Vong cleaning up their polluted homeworld and turning it into a lush paradise.

The Gree did that too. But then they just chilled out and forgot how they did all that fancy stuff back in the day. They're also quite nonhumanoid in their look. Molluscoid. And might not value stuff like ambition in the same human like way. Being more like a eusocial caste based creature.
