I'm so excited for the Force adjustment. I am SO tired of having low DPS numbers. I want to be a selfish mage! Masq also brought back my deep-seated PTSD. Floors 900+...I'm so glad I use Tri-Shield. Masq can't hurt me...Masq can't hurt me...
Also, when I saw Turnover and Evade HP Gain, I have a feeling they will go together like peanut butter and chocolate. A near permanent 5.75% potency boost!

My favorite masquerade memory was when I saw one of my friends dying to the time stop slash.
He was a summoner main (obviously) and recently used his class' iron will. Which is forcing your pet to reenact Kevin Costner in that Whitney Houston movie bodyguard. Leaving you with one 1 hp.
He was all fine until masquerade did his time stop slash and killed him. Definitely a "one in a million" moment.
They actually mentioned story in Headline.

My only complain with the force update is that it feels like they made techters wait two months for what it looks like just better graphics.
They haven't told nothing about talis on the headline. And with the current wand giving PB charge for the team talis is really behind in terms of support for the team or dps. I wished it could have something simple as making it's mark work for everyone or give PB charge when you use it's build up attack.
Also I wish we could get a all ship lobby. Not merging all ships but just one block for communication so we could interact with people from other ships. Sometimes ship 4 feels a bit empty.
Im actually gonna do a test once the Training Quest comes out where I compare Wand vs Talis PB Build-up speed. Keep in mind Talis gets the full benefit of the elemental PB build up skill while Wand does not.
Biggest surprises were the announcement of story coming along with Vael and an actual new UQ all of a sudden. Glad to see that. I hope they go with a tough, but shorter format for Masquerade because I would never have the time to clear 100 of anything, even my favorite boss. :/ I'd like something I can have a chance at doing this time.

It's alright, Cath, some long-term CBT should help you manage that PTSD.

Oh, I so can't wait to see the new stuff for my beloved Force class! But the addition of 12* weapon makes me hesitant to upgrade from fully decked out Wingard to Tri Selio. I have only one augment transfer pass, so I'd need to reaug if I do go for Tri Selio.
I ended up re-augmenting for 2 reasons
1. I do not gain enough transfer passes right now
2. Augmenting Wepaons is much cheaper than Units
3/7 Slots are basically "free" so that pushed me to just make a exelio from scratch and then keep upgradating it
@@Cathy5614 That is indeed true. Lux and Gran Gladia are also very cheap now, so I could go gamble with ten of each with Glan Gigas.
Masquerade , i havent heard that name in a while .
if the story will focus directly on Vael then what about Solus/Dalion ? its Vael butler or a familiar? ( just like how vampires have their servants)

Now I want to see what made Cathy have ptsd. Is masquerader a bad matchup for Techter in base game?

Base Masquerader is a solo boss fight gamemode.
It start with depth 1 and each time you beat him you can go up 1 depth make him has higher HP and damage to maximum of depth 999.
The thing that make this this quest hard is his damage immunity, if you use same attack to deal damage pass certain threshold Masquerader will become immune to that attack until the end of the fight.
(and yes, it can have immunity to multiple attacks, so you have to use everything you have in your arsenal, thats why fighting Masquerader with Te in base is very difficult because main source of base Te damage is only Normal attacking.)
Another challenging mechanic is at depth 999 all of masquerader attacks deal 999,999 damage, thus you have to make it without getting hit, unless your class have cheat death mechanic .
I can say that if your dodge skill is trash before, fighting masquerader will make you a pro at dodging.
The reward of clearing is Masquerader themed accessories
We have:
*Cape of Resentment A* at depth 10 and 180
*Mask of Resentment* at depth 100 and 190
*Cape of Resentment B* and title *Tainted by the Profound* at depth 999
So you can show other player that you have cleared one of the hardest quest in the game.

@devlkerhextalker4461 Ok, that immunity seem just shitty mechanic. Sounds like you'll need to max out your potency to do as much DMG as possible and having the best gear overall. Plus the option to multi-weapon so if you trigger that immunity you can switch to another set of attacks.
And people done up to lvl 999? Crazy, I'm telling ya, those are crazy.

so I can tell you its that crazy.
Masquerader is also the one of the few methods for us to get materials to craft endgame weapons in base, so once we cleared depth 999 its still far from over.
And the pace of the fight just does not mash well with Wands slow "axe murderer" swings or attack range. At least you can use Techniques to deal with the damage immunity but man this fight feels like it was designed with nothing but Scions in mind.

@@Cathy5614 honestly i'm still holding out hope she went into cryo with us, assuming that the story is going in the direction that chapter 7 heavily implied and we are the guardian. it would just feel wrong for us and her to be separated after breaking time for each other.
True, and tbh if they bring back any PSO2 character into NGS it should be either Matoi or Xiao imo.

@Cathy5614 They ain't mention any changes for it besides visuals. It's still the worst weapon along with Launcher in terms of damage avoiding: no proper block/parry skills and default dodge i-frames not made for current in-game content. If you can run away from some attacks that longer than dodge i-frames - what about attacks that covers entire area (like DFSolus dome expanding attack in phase 1)?
And in terms of damage it's not far from Rod, means now it's gonna be behind it thanks to damage buff skill for Rod only.
@@FollowTheFaceless Talis will obviously have number-related buffs and tbh its all it *really* needs. Step counter is fine if you increase i-frames and potency. WA is fine if you increase its potency and speed up mark accumulation etc. Expecting big changes was always unrealistic plus technically the new Photon Flare Skill will benefit talis as well so there is that~

@@FollowTheFaceless The same way Wand WA was improved back in October 2022 and Talis WA gained I-frames when successfully dodging an attack. You just increase it! It's a number in the game files.

we all know what "high difficult" in NGS means.... absolutly nothing hard at all. xD
I believe Masq will likely feel easier in NGS simply by virtue that the classes are really smooth to play compared to PSO2 where you were fighting the controls half the time.
@@Cathy5614 for Gunner i guess he will be easier cuz Chain Trigger isnt like base game in which u could easely mess up the initial hit xD
