To PS4 players; I highly recommend this channel for your pso2 NGS content, believe me, it’s by far the most comprehensive, informative and insightful there is.

Real talk it's so exciting to see new players! This game goes through some insane player droughts so I love seeing new faces that want to enjoy the game. Is there anything better than a new MMO experience?!
PSO2 is by far the most wholesome community ive ever came across in every mmo ive played. It's so unique that even the game itself doesn't really great so i'm on a break from the game rn, the community keep giving reason to comeback once in awhile after each update.
Normally if i quit an MMO, i quit for good. This is the only exception.

Just created my account yesterday and it’s been fun so far :) I’m so happy they brought this to PS.
Honestly thank you so much, I’m on PS4 and I just got into the game and I didn’t know how to change my user name for the longest time (about 3 days now) this makes my life so much easier.

to all ps4 players and anyone else who's starting the game for the first time, there's also the original pso2 game within pso2 ngs, which has over 8 years worth of content that was developed!
to access it, you have to complete the prologue in ngs first. then once you've done that, head to the ryuker device (the green teleporters) and go into "change blocks". and from there, pick the one that says "transfer to pso2 blocks" and that'll take you to the base game. alternatively, you can select it from the character menu once you complete the ngs prologue, so you don't have to open ngs first to transfer to base pso2
just as a reminder that all of your gear from ngs will not be usable in base pso2, as your character progression between ngs & base pso2 are separate, outside of cosmetics. so keep that in mind if you plan on playing the base game
but yea, i highly recommend giving base pso2 a try during your downtime with ngs, since it's a pretty fun game with a lot of complex, but rewarding gameplay as you progress further into it

@@littlewitchling535 technically yes if you mean without having to pay irl money. one way is to use in-game money to purchase pso2 classic outfits from the player shop, which you can get a lot of in-game money if you're lv. 85 for main & sub class, and do the cradle of darkness urgent quest/trigger on ultra hard strat (i would look up a video on youtube for that, since it's better to see for yourself on how it works)
another technically free way to get base pso2 outfits is through star gems (sg for short), which you earn as you play the game on both pso2 & ngs, and scratching on the sg rewind scratch within base pso2. what you get from any scratch is completely random, however. so you may not get what you want from it
btw, i wouldn't really recommend spending all your sg on it, since there's other things that are worthwhile to use sg for, like the 90 day rental (or 30 day if you don't plan on playing heavily months down the road) for material storage as an example (which i HIGHLY recommend getting, since you get so many material drops in pso2 & ngs that'll fill up your storage fast)
other than those two ways, there isn't any other way to get pso2 classic outfits for free. so you'll have to rely on those two methods only
the only free outfits you can get without having to spend in-game money or sg are from ngs, via mission pass (if you pay 100 sg per season to unlock the gold version) & unlock the tiers as you complete your dailies & weeklies, and doing the free daily sg scratch pull, which is random on what you get from it
so long reading aside, i hope this answer helps!

Recently got a series x in April. I have found most of this information out over time based on fiddling around with various things to do. I heard about the ps4 release after I started playing on xbox. Been a ps5 owner since launch but really wanted an mmo for my buds and I to play on consoles together and this one fit the bill. I do wish I looked into videos like this when I started playing. Trying to share information and explain how to do various things with my friends has been fun and it definitely helps to have outside viewpoints for a game like this. Once a friend told me about the personal shop and how to buy higher level weapons for relatively cheap was a lifesaver. You can even buy +40 and even +50 weapons for not outrageous amounts of meseta that are already fully augmented from more experienced players. This helps save time significantly when building up newer, less experienced classes.

The thing with "primm" gear as material is explain at the beginning in the tutorial. it says that it will save us lot of Grinder because of the huge amonte of xp it gives.

6:54 Sadly, there's not enough buttons on CONTROLLER for a dedicated WA. It's set to the weapon palette by default and is generally the go-to for pad players.

Easiest sub of my life, thanks for all of these tips. Making a 15 minute video that's all good info with no filler isn't easy.
I've never really been an MMO player because I was never a fan of the combat in them but I've been playing a BUNCH of PSO because I'm actually enjoying it - it's a lot deeper feeling than just spamming skills off cooldown in cycles. It's almost like Monster Hunter.
Edit: Oh crap I forgot to ask - is there any way to get the boss camera permanently in combat or something similar? The default camera is so close for no reason but the boss camera is 👌
YUP! I like to compare this game to dark souls with the dodging and monster hunter with the bossing.
And yeah.. the cameras suck man. They will ALWAYS change on you.
I am a completely new just started playing the game today player. The upgrade system for this game is something I have not encountered yet.
The upgrade system leaves a lot to be desired! Its pretty overwhelming at first. Just understand youll be swapping lots of gear early on so dont enhance everything. If you need and help pop into my discord link is in the vid

I honestly wish the Ps4 version was out sooner but hey, im glad its out in the first place! The only unfortunate thing is missing all of the fashion really. However, you can expect "revival" scratches throughout the year that will re-release the previous fashion

Hey lads, just about to start the game. Ive looked at a bunch of videos and think i have an idea of most stuff to do early game, and which classes I want to play. The one thing I’m having trouble finding though is:
Is it worth following a build for skill points so you’re not wasting points on skills that look good/fun from a newbie’s view, but ultimately aren’t worth it?

For new players that is worried whatever this game is p2w or not.
Let just say I just do Weekly mission, 30 min a day and still not farming for the current META weapon and able to clear most of the contents just fine up unless it the challenge mission where we need "more skill".
I can still handle all the boss this game offer with ease aside from of course those "GIGANTIX" a special version of boss that is for 32 players to beat and could one shot everyone.
the money I spent is totally on Fashion.
or in case the weapon didn't drop for you, you can check the item in player shop.
the cheapest one is like 1k-10k which is just dirt cheap unless you aim for stronger expensive one which I'm not really recommend.
Currently the game is holding season event where we collect point and buy the item from season store that you need to check it out as It has both weapon and gears that is strong enough for the current casual contents.
TIP : if you hold "ctrl" by clicking on stuffs in your inventory you can select multiple items
Can you do a video or explain how arm refineries work please I'm so confused and can't limit break my weapon without it
TL;DR on Arms Refiners:
Used to limit break past level 40. They require:
Strugment A,B,C which are droppable in combat sectors
EX cubes which are earnable through mission pass and leveling to current max level.
Arms Refiners are also droppable on rare occasion in combat sectors and dark falz rank 1 and 2.
Basically, you won't be limit breaking your weapon as a new player. There are very few ways to get arms refiners or ex cubes to make arms refiners. So don't stress too much. The best alternative to this as a new player is buying a weapon that is already limit broken in the personal shop. You can search for +50 and +60 enhancement weapons.
Crossover event items from before aren't region locked, are they? Like, remember that Evangelion event? Will I be able to purchase the items from the player store or participate in the event if it ever comes back?
Yes you will be to but there has not been a word of such collaboration being revived since that requires to purchase the license for global.

The games have no significance on one another storywise. So IMO play New Genesis and then try the base PSO2 when you are bored

@@Thriftshoppin aww thankies, they watched a few vids then the 5 of us set off (ship 3) we went through aelio me directing, acting as meat shield an keeping them alive, finished off the day with yellows, almost getting mulled by giga oruq (they were saved by me calling a few of the alliance, which they joined) an finished the day off with petas. all in all a good experience for them, by tomorrow everyone should have all their gear ready to go and have bp to go onto retem.

Im tempted to restart this game because I havent gotten far when I first played the original and even less far when I tried new genesis close to launch, but I just don't know how I would go about that.
NGS is a LOT more beginner friendly than most MMO's. There really isnt much you can mess up on. Join the discord and ask any questions you got, fam~
Is there an npc follower just like in pso2? Or pso2 ngs still no followers or npc?
There are followers once you enter combat sectors. They will help you fight in these areas

You can grind it to squeeze out damage ceilings but I think the game is best played in short bursts, it's not really that "one game" kind of game.

No casual trash. You don't gotta do much since the game is really lacking in content.
something to note before starting PSO2/NGS. SEGA hates color changing. Majority of outfits/costumes can't be dyed. It's a simple texture change you can map on its own channel, not some kind of game breaking feature that overloads the server. Yes I know some outfits are from copyrighted characters and thus com in their original colors and sometimes have variants, but give the players some freedom and let them change the colors of outfits. I'm tired of getting outfits I want and find out I cant dye them.
Pretty much everything in NGS can be recolored, just sections of it stay the same which is the 2/A/B differences sometimes. Old PSO2 was more no dying compared to NGS, we can even change some NGS accessory colors. I play on PC

Aboslutely! To follow up on this, the +40 enhanced seasonal weapons make for incredible enhancement fodder for future equips.

You wont! Ask around, get some advice, or just take a stab at it. However, these skill points are permanent and require either a skill pass to reset the points (given out occassionally) or microtransaction purchases. Come join the discord and ask others if you need help! :)

Me and my brother are not very happy about the whole "used skill points are permanant" part. In most other MMOs you spend a chunk of non premium currency to respec but here that's not the case.

Hey bud! Sorry for the delay. IMO just use what you got. If you can meet some veteran friends the play is to get into a +50 weapon ASAP... regardless of what the weapon is or rarity. Battle power scales off the stats of the weapon and a +50 weapon will beat ANY rarity weapon at +40 while progressing.

I haven't finished the video yet, but make sure not to your name your character something dumb, if I recall correctly it cost FIFTEEN dollars to change your character's name.

If you're just starting out , you have 3 free character slots. Making a new character skips the 15 dollar cost completely. Otherwise, yes it's a pain!
To add to this please make your player ID similar to your character name. It helps people remember you.
Yup very true. As i said in the video you can name your character ANYTHING since ign's arent unique. Wanna me Luffy? 002? Optimus Prime? No problem.

Issue a link code on PC, then enter that code on the other device you wish to play (Xbox/PS4). You have 15 minutes to link via the code. You can always reissue one if you need

In your quick menu or in "communications" of your main menu there is a sub menu selection called "nearby players" that shows players in order of proximity.

I was sooooo excited for new genesis but then when it came out I was so disappointed, there was quite literally almost nothing at all to do. Hopefully that’s changed since then.
I'm desperate at this point. I've been searching forever for better equipment, but I got the level 40 weapons from the event going on currently, but I can't find any gear past lvl 40 and I just finished the story tonight. Please, if anyone knows where to go/what to farm to get it I would love you forever.
Is there not event armors you can buy? If not, you can search for 7 star +50 enhanced armors in the personal shop, they shouldnt be that expensive. NGS typically releases armors with full augments during events for new/returning players
@@Thriftshoppin they aren't event weapons they're normal ones just at +60 available from Xitre using season points.

It could definitely help loading times. From what i'm told the PS4 plays NGS pretty well. I've considered getting one myself just for NGS haha

Enhance weapons, add augments, unlock item potentials (this gives +10bp per item potential level)

Can you change ships anytime?
Characters are tied to ships, but can be moved for a HEFTY price.
You can make a separate character and progress on a different ship, but your character cannot swap between ships to play.
They should totally make thst a thing. Or juat have one ship.

Psn players should start og pso first because most ppl not trying to play it because of how different it is from ngs .but its alot of things u can get from og that can be used in ngs
I agree but I wouldnt recommend beginning with it. It's a super tough grind with very difficult systems. Plus its receiving no new content so theres an inevitable wall you will reach. I think its best played during moments when theres little to do in NGS
True true im a old pso player i tend to be on there more tho since iv done what i wanted to do on pso ngs already so i really just be money grinding till next lvl patch release. But the guild im in none of them want to even log into pso classic because they think its not as fun as ngs

I'm very confused how you have main and sub class at lvl 60 but ur BP is only 2800, how is it that low?
You receive no battle power from the level of your subclass, only skill points used. So a level 1 subclass will give the same BP as a level 60 subclass as long as you have all skill points unlocked.
I am also using 4star Geant armor. Battle power means literally nothing once you can get into all pieces of content. Ive used the same armor for over a year without needing to upgrade and can do content completely fine. I value that over changing gear and wasting meseta every few months

Why would you have different character names in? Why would you have more than one character? I was under the impression that much like a final fantasy you can learn every class you can level up the skills of every class on one character what’s what’s the incentive to make multiple characters.

I just couldn't get into pso2 sadly. I'm a psu till I die kinda techer. There is still a server, 190 lol cap. It's called clementine. :3

No. Ships are essentially servers. If you wish to play together you need to make sure you select the same Ship. You have three characters you can make for free on your account
