My XTOOL D8BT has already paid for itself in terms of money I've saved. This weekend I easily made a keyfob for my son's Jeep but I've already performed maintenance and other diagnostic work on our cars and also for friends for which the dealer wanted an arm and a leg. The 3 year free upgrade period and fast customer support is what drew me to the XTOOL.

I agree entirely. I totally disagree with this video. The guy made because I've tested both of those units out and I found the autel to actually work much better than the x tool. For example it gave Me actual data on a problem that the x tool said communication is unavailable. I compared the two scanners one gave real data. One made it look like there was a problem with communication to that sensor, which in fact was communicating and giving data. And the weird thing about this video was the guy picks the x tool but then there is an advertisement to buy the autel tool pinned in the comments. I find the whole thing rather weird

2005 Corsa C/ Opel Tigra Twintop with Ecotec Z14XEP, starts cuts out. Changed a lot of parts, cleaned, fuel pressure 50psi on fuel rail. Cheap readers showed no faults so bought D7 after they said it would recognize my VIN. It didn't. They got back to me with an upgrade and it found the VIN. But it wont DO anything. At one point I could activate the ignition on cylinder one and saw spark. But it showed only THREE cylinders. Two upgrades later, no change. Expecting another upgrade tomorrow.

My first XTOOL D7 would not hold a charge (bad battery); returned it. Second D7 would not do a ABS brake bleed on a Honda Accord. Next, it stopped loading the the diagnostic software. It boots but the software stopped loading. I've had this on for 34 days. It's my third Chinese scan tool that seemed like a good deal but didn't work properly. Just saying my experience so far with the D7.

I currently have the Autel MK808, using it in a small 2-bay minor repair garage in Canada. It has worked well for what I use it for most which is electric parking brake retraction/maintenance and some abs brake bleeding, abs sensor faults.
Biggest pet-peeve I have with it is the lack of memory it has for the software it requires and it's ability to update with it's limited built-in memory.
I've seen a few of your videos on these machines and really suprised you do not address this issue on ether one of them. Would be nice if you could review their memory requirements and capabilities with ease of updating.
    Other than that, great information.

Good video! I have spent a lot of money on scanners and the worst experience I have had was unfortunately with an Autel scanner. It just stopped whilst underwarranty and the supplier and Autel made every attempt to avoid attending to it under warranty. I still have this new scanner which is useless. So I won't buy one of their products ever again. I have found many better companies to deal with that offer much better products. I only hope no one else has a similar experience with Autel as I did, because it was really bad.

My second scanner was an icarsoft unit. and it did not work on my 1996 Jaguar XJ6. Nothing at all. However iCarsoft were very helpful and kept sending me ne downloads but it still did not work so they arranged a refund. I would recommend them on that kind of good service alone. If only Autel were half as helpful I would still be buying their products. It seems to me that some of the cheaper simple scanners like Launch seem to work on older cars. It's when they become complicated that the programming does not want to work fully. Some makers do stipulate that their scanners will only work on cars from 2000 to 2002. whilst many say theirs will work on cars from 1996 but then they state European cars apart from US and Japanese etc.

AUTEL is an unethical company that takes advantage of its consumers. I acquired a maxisys pro in 2015 and had no reason to upgrade its software because it was compatible with all of my vehicles. A free update released an application that works like ransomware and installs a timer that prevents you from accessing the diagnostic part of the tool. Now, all I get is a “Software is not authorized!” message. When I try to use the diagnostic part of my tool The only available option is to purchase an upgrade from Autel for $1400.00. Product knotting is illegal in the United States, and this corporation should be severely punished for what they're doing to their customers in order to create cash flow due to the recent lawsuit Autel settled.

Thxs for the tool review. I have a Cando C-Pro and the screen at video time 10:53 is the same. Question and this will make you not want to buy one. To upload updates, is this on a 2.4 GHz or % GHz? Reason I ask is cause I can't get my updates due to the 5 GHz modem. Called Cando and they said only way is by having a 2.4 GHz modem or mail it in for the updates. So based off the screen on the XTool, I'm going to take a wild guess and say it does it's updates on 2.4GHz. Here in U.S. it's all pretty much 5GHz and it's too fast for the Cando to get it's updates.

Does the d7 or d8 or any of them including autel tell you anything about the ac system like if the pressure switch or control valve is bad or the compressor itself? Maybe reset components after a successful recharge? Blew cold for one day then worked only randomly for a few weeks. It's a variable displacement compressor on an 18 kia optima lx
      Thanks

If your car registered bad pressure switch any of them devices will show you, it's the car module responsiblity to register the error in the first place, having said that, those devices can let you examine the work of actuators (Active test) and read whole load of sensors data (Live data) to diagnose the problem properly, regarding the resetting matter, they offer many special functions which might include something like that, I wouldn't be sure though cause I didn't try mine on a car like yours before.

I chased that problem around on a pontiac montana for months with fuel composition resets at dealer - in the end, a change of the Mass Air flow sensor (to AC Delco OEM) fixed the problem.... you need to compare what your sensor is reading and what is normal for your vehicle.

Won't matter what tool you buy, one tool will work with something the other tool does not regardless if it's a high end official product used world wide. You would need to buy all tools just to cover yourself from the possibility that one tool can not cover everything no matter how much you spend.
The ability for the mk808 or any Autel is it's future updates with pretty much the same hardware when it came out. It's now 2022 and they have only again increased it's capabilities.
Autel will most likely be around longer than the rest as it's flag ship status is a brand pushed by the nation it comes from, a bit like snap on is for the USA.
