Bought the MK808 bt 16 months ago, best £400 + I have ever spent. Think of it as 10 trips to a main stealer to have your fault codes read. This small tool will amaze you, it has more than paid for itself. I have a Jaguar xf 3.0 diesel and Jaguar charge £120 per hour. The basic unit MK808 without bluetooth is currently selling for £333.
Your comparing af hourly price to workshop hours is spot on. Usually tools pay for itself first or second time you use it. Thanks so much for you advice.
My 2017 Corolla has an overflow transmission. To change the trans fluid, it needs to be drained in a very narrow temperature range. Does the MK808 show transmission temperature for most models?

Hi i know the video is bit old but can you tell me if you know ...i was about to purchase this scanner from official Autel store here in UK ,but on the description it says support Asian cars from 2008 and after i don't know if it is a mistake but that doesn't sound very good you would expect to be able to do Toyota or Hyundai cars from 2000 .....have you try to Asian cars before 2008 .does really not work or the site description is a mistake? Just wanted to mention how much I appreciate you completely scrolling through the supported vehicle brands. When you have a minor brand like mine (Australian gm holden) it is irritating to have a review video just pick a common brand. Oh by the way Holden was not listed.
This device does support Holden for us. If you head over to the Autel website and select the device you are interested in buying, it provides a list of vehicles it supports. Holden is under the "GM" tab 😊

It can do active test on ac switch and it can show live data on a list of things to do with ac that boggles the mind if you don't know what to look for. Also reads pressure in ac using MPa measurement. Can turn internal fans on and off. On this model tells you if Freon levels are normal or not on others they have it in guage form. Dpf Regen works in drive on some models others on idle. Clears service light on cars that require reset by dealer. will clear warning lights and keep them off as long as there isn't anything wrong with that particular part. The areas it's weak in is programming keys for this particular model even though it claims to have this ability. Doesn't do all keys lost. So if you end up deleting all keys to add an additional key and its not successful you then don't have the option for all keys lost to retrieve the original. It's made to be a diagnostic scanner that now has bidirectional capabilities. Diagnostically it's flawless.

Good video! I have spent a lot of money on scanners and the worst experience I have had was unfortunately with an Autel scanner. It just stopped whilst underwarranty and the supplier and Autel made every attempt to avoid attending to it under warranty. I still have this new scanner which is useless. So I won't buy one of their products ever again. I have found many better companies to deal with that offer much better products. I only hope no one else has a similar experience with Autel as I did, because it was really bad.

I could send reports from it to a computer. There is X Tool and Mucar which have some interesting units that are not too expensive. I like launch products as even the cheap ones seem to work well. I know some car dealers who always buy Launch.

One important thing that does not get mentioned anywhere. You cannot update this without a WIRELESS internet connection. You cannot connect via USB to computer to update. The BT model can update the VCI connector via USB from your computer, but the scan tablet itself can only be updated via wireless. I'm sure that's not a big deal for most people, but for someone like me it means I have to reconfigure a wireless router every time I want to check for updates.
@@gusf8451 Because I don't allow wireless emissions on the grounds. This means every time I need to connect it I have to reconfigure a wireless setup for a temporary connection. Run updates, then remove the network.
On thing you need to know is that the tool does not have a speaker. So if you want to watch a RUclips video, or any video, to get additional information, you will get the video but NO VOICE. However, you will be able to get captions, if the video has that capability, so you can read along with the video. However, you will need to select the captions option for each video. On talking to the Autel tech rep. , I was told that there is no speaker in any of the 800 series tools; you need to buy, the more expensive, 900 series tool.
Hi I recently brought one of these, through your link, very impressive tool, ideal as we have different cars in the household! Been using it a lot lately as the misses Volvo C30 been playing up. Was just wondering if you knew why when I keep resetting the fault code for the dpf additive tank that it keeps coming back? I have topped up the tank as it was empty. I have seen another RUclips vid where the guy resets the counter for the additive tank, on his Autel unit, can the mk808 not do this? Many thanks
@@padraiggalvin2807 yeah fault was fixed topped up the tank even replaced the dpf and pressure sensor, but had to use Vida dice to reset the eolys counter all works fine now this autel unit would not reset the counter
@@padraiggalvin2807 it’s a great diagnostic tool with some features, much better than all them cheap dongles etc depending on what level your at with cars, if you just wanna know what’s up! then it’s great but lacks special functions, but is a diagnostic so that’s cool. I think they should of added the eolys counter reset as you can do dpf regeneration with it, vehicle model depending! And reset the code but with the annoying factor that it will keep coming back. Wish I brought it’s big brother with the functions and output tests.
It can do keys but not on every make and model, you also need a master key in order to make another. You cant erase all key codes and make a set of fresh keys for a ECU swap.

Sothea Mam You’re not authorized from the OEM Security protocols of the manufacture, you need validation and unless you’re a company with a TAX registration (UK VAT) identification, don’t believe what these people say, only thing you can do is clone some units only...
What's the crack with autel I spoke to the uk main dealer and they said not to go with the mk models as only ment for us and chinese markets and said they if they go wrong there would be no support anyone else heard or seen anything like this ??
I have this mk808. Used it on a jaguar xf 2013 and the car went completly dead, no lights on the dash, wouldn't start, no central locking, nothing. Had to do battery reset to get the car back up and running. So now i know i cant use it on jags even though it is listed on mk808. Has anybody had this issue? Could it be as simple as a software update or is my mk808 faulty?
Unfortunately I found out I needed a battery maintainer on when using the scanner. My battery went dead also. With a maintainer charging the battery I was able to use the scanner without draining the battery
AUTEL is an unethical company that takes advantage of its consumers. I acquired a maxisys pro in 2015 and had no reason to upgrade its software because it was compatible with all of my vehicles. A free update released an application that works like ransomware and installs a timer that prevents you from accessing the diagnostic part of the tool. Now, all I get is a “Software is not authorized!” message when I try to use the diagnostic part of my tool The only available option is to purchase an upgrade from Autel for $1400.00. Product knotting is illegal in the United States, and this corporation should be severely punished for what they're doing to their customers in order to create cash flow due to the recent lawsuit Autel settled.

@frank o'brien I’ve had replies from them. But not from any actual manufacturers like iCarSoft or Foxwell. I have talked to Autel and to several vendors who stock and sell their products. That’s why I bought an Autel MX808 and 38-pin Benz adapter from NAPA

You need to actually fix the physical fault before deleteing code.
