Good morning everyone! Sorry Lori & I were not able to do a live Q&A for January. Our travel schedule for the 2023 has started off very hectic. Thank you for understanding and of course we are very grateful for your support! Let me know in the comments section if you are digging this all new Mazda CX-90!
This Mazda CX90 is pretty nice Joe. I like the style, very Mazda like, clean and sharp like always. Can't wait forbthe other big first drives coming: Honda Accord DODGE Charger EV Ford Mustang Dark Horse Chevy Colorado Zr2 Gmc Canyon Denali ultimate/AT4X Keep us up to date Joe!!!
Love this red color!! I’m more of a sedan fan than suvs but this Mazda is beautiful. Hopefully they let us know about the future of their Mazda 6. I’ve been waiting too long!!
Mazda continues to get better and better! From 2015 and up they have continued to just keep going up, from there interiors being beautiful, to the curves of the outside, and great handling. On top of that they are very reliable car, up to par with Toyota. Mazda isn’t the same old zoom Mazda, they are everything I listed above! Excited to see where Mazda goes in 5 years.
Exactly, Mazda has shown that it can manufacture the best consumer cars like Toyota and now it is going for Acura and it is approaching BMW (interiors only) in 6 years it will be touching the base of the premium without a doubt
@@empresasenlared I agree with you that Mazda has come a long way and I like all the new Mazda models, however competing with Acura is kinda long reach and I’m not saying this to knock down Mazda, not at all because as I said I love the way they’re going but the CX-50 can’t touch the RDX and this CX-90 as good as it is is not at the level of the MDX, and I’m not even talking about the TypeS model that’s on a league of its own😂.
Mazdas are bloody great. My Mazda 6 2019 has HUD, front, overhead, rear camera, etc etc for 16k gbp. Incredible 2.2 ltr engine, 50 mpg, good on motorways, fun to drive, brilliant
This vehicle was just announced by Mazda Canada on Facebook and it made me smile to go onto RUclips and of course this video pops up. I'm not surprised though because you and your wife make amazing videos!!!
Great review, Joe, as usual. Your presentation style is, in my opinion, the gold standard. Informative, witty, with a dash of humor. Just wonderful. Looking forward to your test drive in the coming weeks.
The infotament system and the control knob for it is the best. Ive had 2016, 2019 cx9. I drove other cars and the mazda is the best. You can control everything without having to move your eyes pff the road. The screen is high up near the window. The sun doesnt affect the vision or the screen. Its perfect.
Imo the Mazda cx5 although much cheaper, has the better design. More sleek, symmetrical, and modern. The front of the cx-90 I don’t know looks kind of dated tbh.
I have a CX-50 and I've actually warmed up to the control knob for the infomant system. The smaller volume control to the right of it is actually very handy. I can casually adjust volume and skip songs by just using my hand with my arm resting on the center console padding. The CX-90 is nice and I love the inline 6 cylinder. The styling is consistent with the Mazda way.
YES! Also it’s really annoying having to constantly reach up and touch the screen. I had a Mazda before and that control knob was the best thing ever. Another great feature that he never mentioned is the Auto hold! It’s a huge convenience to not have to leave your foot on the brake at red lights!
I agree, I owned the first 2016 CX-9 GT, 2019 CX-5 Diesel, 2023 CX-9 GT and the dial becomes part of your experience. Especially with the volume nob next to it. No reaching, my hand hangs off the armrest naturally as intended and right on top of the dial and volume. When Carplay is available I found myself not concentrating on the road with no net benefit to the touch display, it was not any faster nor more convenient. Wished it was a tad bit bigger, and low and behold Mazda came through with a larger dial. Also, I am so glad they didn't go the way other brands have with a huge Tesla style screen which incorporates the hvac system and other options. One screw up or a glitch in software which does happen makes turning up the heat nearly impossible if it is all integrated. Parts and Pieces folks, if your car has more of that then they are more likely to break. Mazda stayed true with elegant simplicity. Although I love this car, I may stick with the CX-9 because I love the front grill of the 9. It was its own signature, and the grill on the 90 has more of a BMW Volvo vibe. Bigger is nicer with the rear wheel biased and maybe when I test drive it I will change my mind, but many the CX-9 is quintessential Mazda! Eric
Omg! Joe you already have a review on it! Impressive timing! And the review? Amazing. Thank you for getting this content to us so fast, you and Lori ROCK for that! I was anxiously waiting for this cx-90 and both Mazda and Raiti’s Rides delivered. Appreciate your dedication to your craft. Love Raiti’s Rides!!! ❤🎉
13:50 nicescuff plates, I got my scuff plates installed on my new cx8 just 2 hours ago today! The led illuminates for just a few seconds to prolong the life of the cell powering it.!
Personally I love the control knob over the touch screen. VERY VERY easy to get used to and so much more convenient to use while driving compared to reaching over trying to touch something on the screen.
You always get the best exclusives! Love that color and interior. Waiting for the cx-70 2 row version of this!! Can't wait to see you go on throttle in this!
Raiti....THANKS for your good work on all your many car reviews. As for this new CX-90 Turbo S Premium Plus in Artisan Red (the one you reviewed here!), I just bought it on Feb 28th, '23 from my Metro Atlanta, GA dealer. Of course it is still in transit from Japan and will not be at my Mazda dealer until Mar 30th and the earliest they will deliver it is on Apr 3rd, '23. Since I would not own a white interior car, and black is a distant second to ANY other color, I kinda had to opt for the Top trim level, a Turbo S Prem Plus is the ONLY model that will get the Tan Napa leather interior. So I bit the bullet and spent 10grand more than I wanted to...but I am sure I will LOVE this CX-90, possibly even more than my lost CX-9 Signature. Keep up the good work...your wife is an amazing camerawoman!
As a proud owner of a Mazda 6, I can say that one can definitely live without touching the screen, the center shift does the job. Forget about seeing oily fingers on the screen.
Love it! First detailed video I’ve watched of it. Y’all do a great job, thank you. Great vehicle though. I drove a Mazda 3 and wife has a cx9. Love the new cx90 and the power train options
I own a 2022 Mazda CX-9 and I absolutely love it. Given what I just seen, I have no reason to upgrade anytime soon.. Also idk why the info knob gets a lot of hate. I love that the info screen isn't a touch. The knob is perfect. Please never change that Mazda!
Mazda thrilled me with this all new CX-90. The Artisan Red is beautiful, inside and out the vehicle is sharp. I'd have to go darker inside with the interior the wood finish is different. I think black chrome would look better and thank you Mazda no black cladding on the Signature trim. Even the PHEV model is nice. Thank you Joe and Lori for providing the great angles with the camera!👍👍
I have a madza cx 5 and the knob doesn’t bother me I like it more than the touch screen less distractions and it’s easier to pick my music with the knob
Love these reviews and considering a CX 90. I wish you would tell us what trim level you are showcasing and the color of the interior leather. Keep it up! Great content!
Joe! I really appreciate you and Lori for the hard work you put in to bring this review to us. Mazda was really keeping this unveil at bay till January 31. I went high and low desperate to watch this review, and as always, you delivered - much love to you and Lori from Canada.
Awesome review Joe. Great color variant with the deep red. Exteriors look so refined and the interiors have a nice touch of luxury with the white seats. Most of all, I love how they keep it simple and yet it's APPEALING. To give that context - the AC switches and other functions are still physical buttons which is FABULOUS vs the ones that are digital, touchscreen and very distracting, as in most cars these days. Also, the retention of a physical gear shift/stick which actually makes a car feel like a "car". I'm not a fan of pressing a button to reverse or change gears. However, downside I notice, just as in the CX-9 is the 3rd row entry and exit. It's definitely not simple!! a) because the car has too low a profile to enter/exit b) the 2nd row seats don't push as much forward to give you room to enter unlike some other 7 seaters with pilot seats. I don't know why they haven't improved that feature. It's a basic thing! people struggle entering/exiting the car from 3rd row. So, family folks...beware of that challenge. Also, not so crazy of that fabric mix. Could have done any 'leather like' feel to ground that whole affordable luxury feel. Let's see how they price it!
CX90 is the new king of the 3 row family SUV hill! Honestly this seems way better than the mainstream models and can easily take on the MDX, the soon to be retired RXL, QX60, Aviator, XT6 ( duh 🙄). This would be close to a Q7 and XC90. Only the X7 and GLS are truly out of reach. Well done Mazda. Meanwhile Raiti got the best intro among all for this launch.
My lease is almost done on my carbon edition cx-9 and I am sooo happy to see they upgraded to the cx-90. I am in love with my cx-9 and have been very pleased with it. I’m excited to see this in person to see if it has more cubby space, which has been my biggest complaint. I’m also happy to see they moved the cup holders. I don’t know why people hate the toggle option vs the touch screen. I honestly enjoy the toggle because I don’t have fingerprints all over my screen. The toggle is so easy to get use to very fast!
Looks great, can’t wait to see pricing and test drive for myself. One of my favorite things you share about your reviews in addition to how many Twinkie’s I can bring with me is the tire size. Tire size is really important the width and sidewall. 275mm sounds good. I know the lower profile tire looks nice but hope they will provide option for larger side wall 50-60. Great Job to you both. Appreciate you guys!
@@RaitisRides Especially after the electric they had... miserable range. Percentage shouldn't correlate 1:1 with miles remaining. Hope they learned from that.
Great review. I remember you persuaded me to buy my cx9 signature back in 21. Man am I satisfied with it. Seeing this is definitely intriguing me to make a move in the later months to come. Looking forward to the further reviews on both engine platforms, test drives, etc and of course price to help my decision. I have the crystal red metallic door, but this new deeper tri color is very elegant as well. ❤
great review as always, I think the hype definitely delivered, but now the main thing is the price point. Based on everything looks pretty expensive. I obviously hope not but we will see!
#facts infinity is Nissans luxury brand. Mazda doesn’t have a luxury division which is why they can make a premium offering competitive with luxury brands at non luxury prices.
Wow, looks great, I'll look forward to trying one out. I do have a few concerns, but mostly it's looking really positive. I would have liked to see more premium metal knobs, switches and buttons, kind of like on the new CX-5. I also am not a fan of the fabric trim, I'd much rather have the nice looking leather that the other lower trim level one had. I am hoping that is an option. I do love all the subtle chrome trim, and it's good to see the color matching cladding on the top trim. I am a little concerned about the center console being a little too wide, and taking away potential butt and leg room. I'm a big guy, and cars today make it tough. I am also hoping the seats are more cushioned than the new CX-5 Sign. with nappa leather... they felt kind of hard to me. I have a 2004 Mazda 6 and it's seats are more comfortable. I am glad they move the memory seat controls off the damn seats too because while I drove around a CX-5 for a week while my car was in the shop, my leg would hit one of the buttons and my seat would move while I was inside and I'd get crushed by the steering wheel. I had to reprogram them to go back all the way instead, lol.
Hi Joe nice work in this video, I'm a fun of the Mazda vehicles one problem though is that the screen is not fully functional. With this new Mazda CX 90 the screen should have been fully functional. Hope next generation the screen will be functional
I’m really digging this cx90 joe and Lori. My personal setup would be the exact same setup you guys showed at the beginning. I’m still a little bummed about the infotainment not being a touchscreen, but eh it’s all good. I’m glad that the fender treatment is all body color, really gives a nice cohesive look. I’m very curious how it drives so I’m looking forward to the first media drive of this CX90. Awesome sneak peek of the cx90 you two you guys are the best! 😊😊😊😊
I like the trim very much. Clean & not overwhelming. Love body color wheel well trim. Not a fan of the "flat" rear end, nor the "fabric" on the dash. I've been waiting for the MDX pricing to come down, but may be in the ground before that happens, so perhaps this could be an alternate choice! Lol
Once again, you guys knocked it out of the park with this review, as always. The car looks stunning and the color is amazing. I wonder if Mazda will have a Meridien trim, with a lift, and all the bells and whistles to compete with the new Honda Pilot, TrailSport?
Absolutely beautiful suv! Love the long, rear-wheel drive stance and beautiful color! Love the modern taillights! Looks a lot like a BMW suv at the rear-end!
Some real attention for passengers and the driver with this eXCellent CX-90. Second row fanny heaters and coolers...yes! As always there is a priceless quip you give the audience and it brings a tear of joy. The second row manual shades for "the peepers and the creepers" now will forever become part of my memory banks! A shame you had to dodge the rain. So much for the song lyrics that it never rains in California yet man it pours. Thanks Joe and Lori for bringing the latest info and always leaving me with a smile!
Mazda has come a long way with their designs. I think it's better for them to go more upscale. Great review Joe and Lori. The other premium brands needs to watch out.
Wow actually i was about to purchase the 2023 cx 5 , but this car is amazing , my question is does it come with a non electrical version of it? Is thier a projector for the speed ?
This is a really nice and premium looking Mazda! Love the exterior design and the interior quality. Can't wait for the actual road reviews to see how well this vehicle performs compared to other SUVs at this price point. I own a 2013 CX-5, super reliable and easy to maintain and still drives like new with 164k miles on it. But it is starting to become dated and the rugged SUV ride is starting to wear me down and this CX-90 may be something that interests me especially if it rides comfortably since it's a larger SUV.
we had a 2018 CX 9, we loved the zoom zoom handling of the 9 but we didn't like the turbo lag when passing on the freeway, traded in for Toyota highlander...why did they put a turbo on this inline 6
Very nice we’ve been looking at these for a while now, Mazda definitely has taken this 24 CX-90 up a couple notches, I really like the idea of the inline 6 turbo (thinking BMW) the design and styling is brilliant and will be a great competitor within the segment, it has the rich looks and feel of a Lexus and or a Palisade although still retains the unique Mazda bold lines and front grille, definitely will be contacting our local Mazda dealer for a test ride once they get some inventory
I have the 100th anniversary CX-5 and I like the control knob. It keeps me from reaching onto the screen and keeps my body in a comfortable driving position.
I’m not sure why there are so many complaints on the whole ‘non-touchscreen’ thing. We’ve had a CX5 since 2017 and I just picked up a Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy and believe it or not…I miss having a rotary dial at my fingertips. It’s just easier. Leaning forward to touch the screen while driving is pretty distracting. I get why Mazda went that way.
My favorite part is the exterior! Especially the rear end 🔥 They definitely crushed the Acura MDX with this one and it’s a strong competitor for BMW! I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these! I want it all BLACK inside and out 🔥🔥
I watch a lot of reviews you sir are the best I’ve seen The detail in your review I do t see to many people taking the time to point out so much And you have a great personality performance whatever it is you got dude
Everything I wanted Mazda to be. This is it. It's like Mazda sees these reviews cause they pretty much checked every single box on every sonk on the previous Mazdas.
@@RaitisRides Great work, can't wait to see y'all go *On Throttle*. However, it's Mazda, driving is their thing. Love Raitis Rides and Love Mazda. Perfect day today.
Oh Joe, thanks for this one. I like it even more than the Volvo XC90. I cannot wait to see the other exterior and interior colors, and see your test drive. Still keeping my fingers crossed that they bring back the Mazda 6 for us sedan people, with that same inline 6 engine.😃
Looks fantastic. I have no need for a third row, but love the size of the vehicle. The design, style and details are outstanding. I think Mazda has hit a home run with the CX-90.
Very interested. Not of fan of chrome or bright metalwork. I wonder if there will be a chrome delete or blackout option or if that will need to be after market.

You always give the best honest vehicle reviews. Loving it. Loving the cx90
That is so awesome of you to say!
It is nice they still have paddle shifter, but the zonk is no more manual shifting on the shifter like the cx5 and cx9
Depending on the price and fuel eco, might be my dream car. Looks stunning, inside and out.
Those will be the two biggest variables for success
@@RaitisRides Especially after the electric they had... miserable range. Percentage shouldn't correlate 1:1 with miles remaining. Hope they learned from that.
May I know if the third seat can recline?
Great review. I remember you persuaded me to buy my cx9 signature back in 21. Man am I satisfied with it. Seeing this is definitely intriguing me to make a move in the later months to come. Looking forward to the further reviews on both engine platforms, test drives, etc and of course price to help my decision.
I have the crystal red metallic door, but this new deeper tri color is very elegant as well. ❤
You hit the nail on the head!
I want this! Will be upgrading from a 2019 CX-5 Grand Touring in Soul Red!
I love this SUV! ❤️ I have to say that if we lost the Mazda 2 and the Mazda 6 in favor of having more budget to make this, maybe it was worth it 🌚❤️
That would be awesome for sure!
I like it. Looking forward to your complete review.
great review as always, I think the hype definitely delivered, but now the main thing is the price point. Based on everything looks pretty expensive. I obviously hope not but we will see!
The price is the next biggest question!
It doesn't look very expensive at all and I don't think it qualifies to be considered luxury.
@@jeff8039 Would you consider Acura “luxury?”
#facts infinity is Nissans luxury brand. Mazda doesn’t have a luxury division which is why they can make a premium offering competitive with luxury brands at non luxury prices.
Can you compare the size of this to the Grand Highlander you just saw?
I know how you feel! We appreciate you so very much!
@@RaitisRides 😊😊
@@Cobra_460 you are awesome!
Lol
So they have allowed the ability to go deep in the menu and change it for people that are diehard touchscreen fans.
What is the range in km of the plug in hybrid please?
Once again, you guys knocked it out of the park with this review, as always. The car looks stunning and the color is amazing. I wonder if Mazda will have a Meridien trim, with a lift, and all the bells and whistles to compete with the new Honda Pilot, TrailSport?
I am sure they are planning on it!
Is the engine longjtudal or transverse?
The other premium brands needs to watch out.
as long as ford, turbos and cvt's stay far far away from mazda, we will be players once again.
Unreal. Especially the interior. But I can’t imagine getting that white interior cloth dirty 😢
Great timing for the middle of the day. I’m already loving it Joe, it’s really nice and clean looking.
I am glad that you are digging this one.
@@RaitisRides As always Joe :)
@@mystictk4149 You are the man!
@@RaitisRides Thank You Joe, but you’re really the man here not me!!
@@mystictk4149 Thanks brother!
Gorgeous, great video!
i don’t really like the rear end design tbh.
Maybe it will grow on you.
Amazing review, top notch quality. New subscriber here!
I told you this CX-90 is going to make the Subaru Ascent look like a Daewoo 😂
You are so very right!
I hardly see any Ascents on the road now lol
we had a 2018 CX 9, we loved the zoom zoom handling of the 9 but we didn't like the turbo lag when passing on the freeway, traded in for Toyota highlander...why did they put a turbo on this inline 6
Wow, good job Mazda 👍. Looks like a luxury vehicle……..thanks Joe ! I’ll finish watching video now. Lol 😎
They really have just raised the bar Tom! Thanks for tuning in as always.
Hey Joe, I dig your watch. What brand/model is it?
Very nice we’ve been looking at these for a while now, Mazda definitely has taken this 24 CX-90 up a couple notches, I really like the idea of the inline 6 turbo (thinking BMW) the design and styling is brilliant and will be a great competitor within the segment, it has the rich looks and feel of a Lexus and or a Palisade although still retains the unique Mazda bold lines and front grille, definitely will be contacting our local Mazda dealer for a test ride once they get some inventory
A Palisade doesn’t have a rich feel but I agree, this is a compelling option
I have the 100th anniversary CX-5 and I like the control knob. It keeps me from reaching onto the screen and keeps my body in a comfortable driving position.
Wow I am so excited to see what they do with the future of Mazda whatever they do I know it’s gonna be good
Things are getting bigger and better with Mazda.
This is so very true Rob!
New gereation 💯💯💯
Oh heck yeah Jimmy!
Not a fan of the exterior styling but that interior is top notch and the turbo inline 6 sounds like a great powertrain!
My favorite part is the exterior! Especially the rear end 🔥 They definitely crushed the Acura MDX with this one and it’s a strong competitor for BMW! I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these! I want it all BLACK inside and out 🔥🔥
Mazda is bringing it big!
I watch a lot of reviews you sir are the best I’ve seen
The detail in your review I do t see to many people taking the time to point out so much
And you have a great personality performance whatever it is you got dude
Thank you Kenneth for taking that time to say that and so letting me share this CV-90 with you.
Everything I wanted Mazda to be. This is it. It's like Mazda sees these reviews cause they pretty much checked every single box on every sonk on the previous Mazdas.
I think you are so very right!
@@RaitisRides Great work, can't wait to see y'all go *On Throttle*. However, it's Mazda, driving is their thing. Love Raitis Rides and Love Mazda. Perfect day today.
@@djblack_eagle Same here!
Depending on price…it looks like a good SUV…worth a look for sure! Nice review and great camera work by your lovely wife, Lori! 🏆
Mazda really did their homework.
Not the Volvo 😮

Thank you Raiti’s Rides for another great content! Been been waiting for this for a while
Hi ! Joe & Lori Excellent Job 👍
Hi Derek! Thank you for watching!
Looks fantastic. I have no need for a third row, but love the size of the vehicle. The design, style and details are outstanding. I think Mazda has hit a home run with the CX-90.
Nice Video review 👍
I am so glad that you like this one.
Did I miss the horse power? What is the rating?
Yes you did. It is 340HP
Very interested. Not of fan of chrome or bright metalwork. I wonder if there will be a chrome delete or blackout option or if that will need to be after market.
Aftermarket
Fingers crossed Mazda does that.
