    I recently bought the Rocky Mounts Guiderail 2". Pretty impressed with it. Very similar to the 1up and I imagine on purpose. However, a nice integrated chain lock solution and overall seems more refined than the 1up (roughly comparing to watching my buddies use their 1up racks and some of their complaints). Worth checking out.

    I have the Heavy Duty with the 2” hitch - it’s very solid, love how it looks folded up when not in use. It isn’t cheap/plastic looking like most of the others and it gets the job done well. As far as the cons, they’re minimal in my opinion for the quality/ engineering of the rack. My HD opens plenty wide to fit my long (large) Switchblade.

    I have owned 1UPUSA racks for a couple of years and love them. I recently bought a QUIKRSTUFF rack. It is way better in every way. It fixes all the shortcomings of 1UPUSA racks. It turns out it is designed by the same guy that designed the original 1UPUSA rack and he started a new company. QUIKRSTUFF is not cheap unfortunately but it is built like a tank and feels like it will last for decades. The great thing about 1UPUSA racks is that they hold their value very well and I sold it for a lot which helped me pay for the QUIKRSTUFF rack. No regrets making the switch.

      @@EMTBReview its just a little more refined. The built in lock mechanism is nice. Its super solid. It's more than you need but it's just a good piece of engineering. The equip-d would be very comparable. I had to wait 1 yr. Crazy. I only use it as a single and I like it's compactness.

No extra hardware to install for "EZ Pull", each add-on connects to the previous one so you always have the release at the end of the rack. Arms fold completely out of the way for bike removal (they can fold *below* the base if needed). Beautiful machining. Anodizing with function (red items are for install/removal, blue items are for security). No ratcheting sound when moving the arms. • @EMTBReview
      @EMTBReview  Год назад +1

      I would say the 1UPUSA Super Duty is best for looks, longevity and resale. The Saris MHS is a close second and is a little easier to use with one-handed arm operation and quick release tilt.

      This is out for me (girlfriend actually) since she need a rack that can use a ramp for her ebike that also has fenders.
      Saris MHS looks like a possibility and has ramp ability and special fender inserts you can install on the rack arms.

    I had 1up last year for a month...sturdy but too hard to load compared to the Kuat NV2 which I replaced it with...latter super quick mounting and works great for long wheel base as well as 3.0+ tires. Perfect...no, but not as many flaws as 1 UP.

    • @michaelfink2070
      @michaelfink2070 Год назад

      How on earth can anything be "faster" than the 1UP? It literally takes me about 15 seconds to load/secure my bike on a 1UP. I've used Thule as well, and it was similar, ~10-20 seconds to secure and be ready to go, so it's not like 1UP is "better", but I can't see how any rack could be much faster than the modern platforms from the top brands (all of them, again, not singling out 1UP as the best).

      @@tomcagle5324Hardly a stud, and not all that coordinated either. ;) But I am serious, what/who has something easier than 1UPs hold down for the bike? I honestly can't imagine what could be faster, so I'd like to see what else is out there that's even easier.

      Any chance I can use your employee discount for a future purchase?
      That being said, I do like the NV quickness and stiffer tray and front wheel bar. I had to strap down the center at the motor on the 1 UP when I knew I was going on a bumpy dirt road to prevent "flex"...kind of a minor flaw but noticable. If I could put the NV tray on the 1 UP hitch mount like a franken rack...perfection! 🤟

      @@tomcagle5324 Wish I had a discount that I could share! ;) I didn't realize you were talking about an e-bike and additional straps, that explains how something could be faster. I use mine to haul around a mountain bike, no straps, just the 2 wheel holders. It's 30 seconds on/off if I'm feeling slow/lazy, could do it in 15 if I was trying to show off. ;)

    • @EMTBReview
      @EMTBReview  11 месяцев назад

      Definitely the Super Duty. This is streamlined because it has on spine instead of two. So this is definitely less sturdy on the left to right movement if there are rough roads.
      If one heavy bike and/or smooth roads, this will be ok as well.
