Both are very good tractors. I have always said that the "best" tractor is the one that you use that does what you need it to do.
I like John Deere tractors (I own 2 of them), but my biggest complaints about them are the price, and the proprietary loader rather than having a standard "skid steer" attachment system. I would happily own and use either machine.

    • @heathalford4721
      @heathalford4721 18 дней назад

We have John Deere and kubota. The John Deere system to me is easier to swap loader implements. Guy at work is die hard kubota and said the skid steer style takes 2 people to change them bc like the M7060 we use you can’t see what you need to

Hello Hank, one of the biggest sailing points for me on the TYM 654/754, over any tractor brand. The fact that it has no dpf or def. That my friend is huge, I know it has a catalytic converter and I'm not that familiar with the system, but the Regen cycles on the other brands, sucks!

You missed one of the best features about the John Deere four-wheel-drive it uses planetary gears in the front end that's why you have such a nice clean front axle where that TYM uses a worm gear.
Although over the years that we in gear has proven to be pretty reliable it just does not have the brute force and the turning radius that is allowed by the planetary gears.
I just purchased two weeks ago a brand new Kubota 7060, which is kind of the smallest tractor that I have purchased in the last 20 years and I'm thoroughly impressed with it.

The biggest selling point to me on John Deere, is the number of dealerships. I got 6 locations within a 40-60 mile radius, I have 2 TYM dealers within a 75 mile drive and with very limited parts and service, and very few tractors to look at. Another issue for me is, what are the parts availablility in, 20, 30, 40 years for a TYM. I walked in the Deere dealer nearest me Tuesday and got a new shifter boot for a 25 year old tractor, that was in stock in the warehouse. TYM are nice, but I will have to stay with my John Deere's. In May 2023 Deere released Customer Service Advisor software to self repair some aspects of your tractor. And I hate the low profile of that 5075 with the R4 tires, ag tires like your TYM would make it as tall as your new tractor.

As soon as JD fought us farmers for the right to repair their company was dead to me. We do have some green on the farm that is welcome to stay. A couple A's one 2 cly 830, and a 5020 on the farm and they can stay. They're from when JD was good and cared more about their customers than greed and politics. If I decided to by anything new, TYM would definitely be near the top of my list. Good day Hank, and god bless!

To be fair, I bet a 2024 JD won't last 40 years. If TYM was out in the 50's and 60's I bet they'd still be some out there. The legacy JD and the new JD are not the same.... by a long shot.

    • @happyjohn8256

@@hhamilton1970 To be fair - I think it will. Did you discuss engines and rebuildable nature of the tractor on this video?
-The John Deere engine is a wet sleeve engine. Easily repaired. Take out old sleeves and put in new - and it being a 3 cylinder is more economical to rebuild. John Deere has its own reman factory in Springfield, MO.
-Deutz engine - the 2.9 litre is a parent bore 4 cylinder engine - needs to be taken out machined and put back in. Not so repairable by a country mile.

I think everyone understands that, but if your just using it and not selling then that's trivia. Our area is covered in Mahindra and Kioti. Kioti is are prepped in NC and service for Mahindra is close in our area probably 5 to 6 full Mahindra dealers for service.

  • @happyjohn8256

    These are not similar tractors:
-the TYM754 is thought be a CUT - they advertise it that way. If the JD 5075E is a couple 1000 lbs heavier or roughly 25% heavier, the Deere will outwork the TYM all day long. It's bigger than a 4075R and smaller than a 5075E
-JD is heavy duty - housings are much bigger on Deere, wet sleeve engine (Deutz parent bore in the TYM), rear and front axles heavier
-JD has excellent service points - oil for engine and hydraulics, front radiator, battery, coolant.
-JD has more comfort - comfort is unequal - bigger cab on JD, I bet the a/c compressor is bigger, please compare ventilation.
-JD Hydraulic system is superior - steering cylinders are bigger, hydraulic pumps are bigger (and likely better quality),
-JD loader is beefier (hydramax cylinders nickel dipped and chrome plated, with friction welded rod ends), mounting frames are made from nodular cast iron.
-JD will have better night lighting - lighting does not compare. Halogen or optional LED
-JD has nicer seat - option to have air seat
-JD LINK - this tractor has connectivity. You can do remote diagnostics, fleet management/boundary alerts, and DIY service and maintenance videos. TYM can't.
-JD has no DEF, no diesel particulate filter (DPF), and no REGEN.
-JD has heavy duty front axle, rear axle, cylinders don't get rusty, wet sleeve engine. The tractor will last longer.
-JD has 110A alternator vs. TYM 95A alternator
-PLUS 50 Engine oil - one of the best, if not the best engine oil in the industry
Hank, can you possible give a "like" on this posting?

Anything that John Deere has that is green you should stay away from for one simple reason (ask any farmer)...John Deere will NOT release it's diagnostic software to the public. In other words if you have a computer/electrical/fuel issue with your tractor ONLY a certified John Deere technician can come out (or you have to have it hauled to them) to fix a sometimes simple issue. The owners would happily PAY for the software...but JD will NOT let it out in the public. So be mindful when you buy.....this comes from a guy who was in the excavating business his entire life (now retired) that owned exclusively John Deere equipment (but YELLOW equipment...the construction side doesn't do this to it's customers)

I understand both sides and this is how I defend the John Deere side. I’ve worked maintenance for 20 years. Many people I worked with should never have been maintenance men and many people I have met and know should never work on anything yet they would do it in a heartbeat. So that prevents that. However yes many people are good enough to work on things by their self
