We thank you for your support for our company
Frankly Deere should hire this couple to make in depth detailed videos of your products with the good and bad. Deere's videos and brochures are terrible!
Fake profile.
I have a 2019 5075E cabbed tractor, this machine kicks azz!! I use the hell out of this tractor from land clearing/brush hoggin/general farming. I have 500hrs right now and so long as you take care of your machine the machine will take care of you💖🇺🇸
Hey Tim. I work for a Deere dealer here in North Carolina. I wanted to tell you that the 5m in the 5075 is a 4 cylinder frame ( like the 5090M frame). This being said, it is a wider frame and therefore allows the tighter turning radius. That is why the 5075 is the only 3 cylinder tractor that is able to be put on the larger frame.
Great videos. Like I said before, I use your channel a lot for first time buyers to get more comfortable with our products. Keep up the great work!
Does the 5 series E, M or R have mid and front PTO for attachments i.e mid mount mowers or front PTO for snow blowers? Etc
Uncle Alan's Yard the 5m and r series have front attachers for hydraulic driven implements. The R has a front pro option. None have mid pto but again can use hydraulically driven implements like boom mowers or flail mowers. Our company sells quite a few 5 series 4 cylinder tractors to municipalities to run mowers.
@@dylanhawkins3844 thanks for the reply!
We would love to hear more of your opinions Dylan. Tim gave a good review of her. If you follow Hay Kings or some of the other farming pages on Facebook the 5E series tractors do not get many good reviews. Many hay farmers report throwing codes , randomly shutting down in the field, fuel and electrical problems. ( Spring Hollow Hay Farm on RUclips actually had Deere buyback his 6065E in a few years ago , he used the money for a 6110M ) ....... anyway I am sure the recommendation would be to move up to an M or R tractor....... I would love a 5 or 6 M or R but I just can’t afford it . It’s up to me and my 1982 4440 to get all of the work done. I do love my 4440 but I miss the 4020 with the loader I traded for it. I gained a cab but lost a loader. I’m really in need of a 50-100 hp utility tractor for raking , tedding , loader work . Something that can handle a 10-15 bale hay grapple in the future as well. I use my buddies 5105M a lot and there is a chance he might make me a deal on her as he has a lot of tractors. Lord willing my 2nd hay cutting of 2020 will be fair and next year will be good as well. I work about 50 acres of hay now.
Thomas Mccrea those old soundguard tractors are hard to beat. The 5E 3 cylinders are good utility tractors but I definitely would recommend stepping up in frame/trim level for the extensive hay crop you sound like you have. You can always do a smaller job with a bugger tractor. You can never do a bigger job with a smaller tractor. The 5m frame in any horsepower is a great all around utility and hay and forage tractor. If your friend will cut you a deal make that happen. Just be sure to keep that 40 series kicking. She’ll be around when others won’t!
I love how the cat kept pulling your hand down for petting. For pest control machines, they're so loving.
Cat says..."Hooman, this back ain't scratchin itself...get busy"...lol
Good morning, that review is spot on, we love our 5 series with the EXCEPTION of the front tires as well .I believe that your review is extremely accurate and fair, great job.
I think the tires in the manual go on a wider rim.
John Deere 5075E, Now including Cab-Cat Option!! "Tou you feel unloved while out in the field? the New 5075E with Cab-Cat option will keep you entertained for those long harvests!
I was thinking just pet the cat already lol
Agree on front tires. My 5075e never loses traction though. Cut right through snow E-pto is all is use. No lack of power. And ballast is needed for even small loader work. You are right. Almost tipped on my first day Lol. Wife woulda been mad.
I like get your comments about the tractors more than a dealership. You can tell the good and the bad. The dealership is just going to tell the good. Thanks Tim thanks for sharing have a wonderful weekend
I now have a 4044m and it has a similar if not the same transmission. And I also dislike the fact that I go faster in reverse than forward in the exact same gear. The clutch issue is the same as well. My understanding of it is the clutch is purely electronic, it operates a valve under the floor board that engages and releases the actual clutch so it will not be as smooth as an older style tractor clutch. Great video again and very informative. Thanks Tim and Christy!
Good morning Tim, glad to see you post something this morning, i love watching your videos. Great work and keep them comin ;)
I love watching the cats and I hope Mary finds her way back soon.
Hope that Mary has come back! Beautiful tractor, Tim!
I’ve just recently traded my 3039r in to a 5065e. I wanted a cab, so I looked into both the 3R and 4R cab models with me being 6’2 they were way too small for me. I found the cab on the 5E to be just right!
Are you able to measure from the rear of the 3pt arms to the front of the bucket? I am wanting to buy a 5075e but I want to see the overall length and none of my dealers have any in to measure!
Sorry to hear about Mary. I hope you find her - she was very entertaining.
I don’t know much about 5 series tractors but you did a phenomenal job on the review
Very good video, great information. I am looking to upgrade my 4044R and found this very useful. Thank you for taking the time to educate and demonstrate!
Excellent simplified explanation Tim! Thanks for taking the time to make the video! Beautiful machine!
Solid review. Ordering the air seat. I am actually enjoying what I see as a good turning radius. The only upgrade I would like is the rear fender controls for the tractor creep and 3PT hitch height. The later being the priority of the two
Hey Tim 🇺🇸 🚜 great information I would like to see this tractor used more I enjoy watching all your Vlogs 🇺🇸
Bought a 2032 about 4 weeks ago already have 80 hours love the tractor... Been watching all of the videos working with my dear dealer got a couple of options that don't come in the 2 series the biggest one is top and tilt. Keep the videos up.
Congratulations!
Hey Tim thanks so much for all your videos and answering my questions on the JD 1025r!! It arrived here Friday with 49" tiller and 48" box blade with loader!! Worked the driveway up already and really was impressed with this tractor!! It will serve me well i believe!!! Until next time hope you have a blessed day!!
Congratulations!
Great review Tim I like what you had to say about this tractor . Thanks for sharing. That cat loves you buddy
Great video! You guys have come along way with the equipment you have!
Excellent review. Not from a salesman or an actor but from a true user of the equipment. I think I will need test drive before I really make decision to buy one😁
Thanks.Lots of good information here.I will likely buy one soon.
I love my new 5065E!
💥 When will we see Christy driving in comfortable AC on a hot humid day while you suffer out in the heat. Poor Christy.
*Keep on tractoring!*
Hi this was very informative video. I am still in aw of how you two always seem to produce such great videos and have so much variety.
I hope you find Mary or she decides to come back, Martha is a cutie! Great video 👍🏻
Nice 5075E, I like the little added details that make it custom to fit your needs. We have a Kubota M6060 and love it. Except I’d love to have a cab with a buddy seat.
Tim check the linkage for grease fittings ,it may be dry in a couple places or even the throwout bearing,or yawl may call it a releace bearing...
I have the same transmission in a 5085M that I experienced the same clutch issues. The J D dealer was able to adjust the clutch to remove the jerky starts, all good now.
Hmm! That is what encouraging!
Very nice Videos! The John Deere Tractors are the best. I really love the cat😍
Greetings from Germany ☺
Great video, and a well done user review of the 5 series along with a comparison of the compacts to the 5 series. A friend of mine was looking at a 5 series, Í’ll pass this along to him. Also, you mentioned the Agcam cameras and I would like to see you using them in various applications with the tractors, loaders, attachments etc, along with your observations. Thanks again, and blessings!
that loader comes off the same as our 540r loader on our 5115r.. very nice.
Also get the shift modulator for your fwd and rev and you can set how hard it shift front to back about 200$
Thank you for talking about rear ballast, I have 1,000lbs of rear ballast but have a new 5045E coming with the 520M loader. I’m pretty sure I need to get the tires filled with Rim Guard to help keep the rear end on the ground!!
Do you happen to have a link for the chart you showed in the video about the ballast and how much you need if the tires are filled?
In the loader owners manual. Available online.
Great review I'm considering a 5075E with cab and this will help with that decision, along with what options to choose. Thanks!
When you were showing the rear hitch on the tractor and talking about the CAT 2 hitch, your cat came out from under the tractor, does this mean the tractor is now a CAT 1? 😂
As I am transitioning from my 1025r to a 5 series to have on my 70 acre farm. I find this video very informative.
I would encourage you to KEEP your 1025r when you get a 5 series! These tractors are SO different that you will miss the 1025r, even if you LOVE the 5 series. I would find the 5 series quite frustrating without a smaller 1025r or 2038r around for those smaller tasks.
@@TractorTimewithTim oh that little tractor still has a purpose on the small farm. Like you planting a small patch of corn and veggie garden while cleaning out the barn. Plus all the attachments I have for the 1025. It will be a losing end. I was looking at the 5 series M model the R is quite speedy. I would need the same attachments as I have for my 1025r. Plow, disc, seeder and anything else I am missing?
I think the M and R are much better equipped machines. If not mistaken, the R has much better turning radius due to better front axle.
The R has better visibility over the loader I think.
Yes, spendy!
@@TractorTimewithTim the M is 59k and the R is 93k. I’ll have to go to a dealership to get hands on. I’ll leave my wallet at home
If Mary has not been fixed she may be off having kittens. You can tell a person with a kind heart by how his pets react or interact. Tim has a big ❤️.
Mary is a HE. Long story...but we go through it in earlier episodes. ....and HE has been fixed.
Tractor Time with Tim Oh boy!! I hope he didn’t get loaded up by himself and get taken to a job site. This happened to one of our kitties one time. Had a recliner delivered and she got in the truck made herself comfortable on someone’s couch to be delivered. But after 120 mile ride we got her back. I hope mr Mary gets back home. He had a really good one.
sitting on the front porch @ 2pm. Gone at 5pm. (no one came by the house in the meantime.
Great episode Tim
I always enjoy your reviews Tim.
Definitely a Cat Time With Tim video. What happened to the other cat?
Love the tractor videos.
I am astounded at times the amount of knowledge required today to own/operate a tractor. Sometimes it seems overwhelming and too complicated. Best wishes.
Same with everything of such technical complexity.
My past experience with farm equipment, in a simpler time, frames my comments regarding today's equipment complexities. I did not intend any offense in my earlier remarks. Best wishes.
Nor did I take any offense. There really is a lot more complexity. You are right on!
The cat always still the show
Tractor and cat video combo. I like it.
Going to buy a 5075E in January! I gotta convince the wife to get a cab.....
The cab is the best part of the tractor! I Would not want an open station 5e.
Great video! Would love to see the 5 more!
Very thoughtful. Thanks.
In America we have narrower tires because we do a lot more row crop work. Corn and such. They’re narrow to fit between the rows of corn for cultivating or spraying
Great review on the 5075E Tim! When I'm in the market for a larger tractor this would be the one I would prefer.
love this tractor, thanks for sharing. Tim could you do a video sometime by lining up all your tractors so we could see the physical difference in size between the models that you currently have?
I have a 2023 5075e. Thing keeps going into the shop. The latest is from a code 3032.02 CCU. The tractor will not disengage the MFWD in between brake/power reverser operations. It just screams at you and leaves the MFWD engaged. Less that 60 hours on it.
Interesting. I had some trouble with my 5e when I first got it. Eventually, they got it worked out. Has been fine since.
Sorry to hear about your kitty. Hope that he returns soon!
Good morning Tim, and thanks for another great video. The 5 E tractors are a good entry level tracor for sure, but are not what the M's , or R's are for heavy work. I had the 5085e, and was ok with it until started having many problems with the transmission, 12 - 12 w/ shuttle. Very expensive repairs for a tractor with less than 600 hrs when started with problems. For sure not a good choice for doing precise loader work, because of that fast clutch, and mine always went into alarm when upshifting within whatever range I was in. Deere said was normal. I've traded into an R now and love it. 👍
I have that same problem with mine. It's like I'm shifting faster then the computer can recognize. When I'm brush hogging this tractor is nice because it doesn't grab and spin the tires while taking off on steep hills. Fuel consumption is 2.5 to 3 gallons per hr.
Great review. I have a 5100M and really dislike the "fast clutch" as well. Overall it's been a great tractor though.
Tim,
Hope all is well with you. Just purchased a 2022 JD 5075E with loader, and also purchased a new Rhino 2150 15' bat wing shredder. Enjoying your reviews. We bought our machine from Vogel Tractors in Fredericksburg, TX. Great team, excellent low hour machines in superb shape, and they are helping us get it rigged out properly. You mentioned unit may be light in the rear. The rear tires are water filled. Curious to get your thoughts on how much weight this adds and if we need more. Also, we are going to widen our stance by reconfiguring the front and rear wheels. We have some lake dams we shred, so wider is better for us. Any recommendations on width or configuration? I'm told there are several options with the wheels on the tractor.
If you're able to comment would appreciate it, understand your busy. Congratulations on the success of your channel.
Rears have 8 positions. I moved mine out some, but if I were mowing slopes full time, I would go ‘full send’! Widest possible.
Fronts don’t really matter.
You might also want wheel weights.
Experiment with loader on and off. See which feels most stable.
I love this tractor i have been trying to get my dad to buy or lease one.
Well done Tim!
Nice tractor good tractor for you guys to have around your property
If you put your sole on the floor and release the clutch slowly it will be a lot smoother we use a 5080m and 5085m and they are quite smooth either that or its just what you are used to. in the uk anything over about 40hp tends to me a manual or semi-automatic tractor rather than a hydro
Great video. You did a great job.
AS YOU CAN TELL MARTHA WANTS HER OWN SHOW LOL HAVE A DAY LOVE FROM TEXAS
Instructional seat is a field install kit available through Deere on 5E 3 cylinder cab tractors
recently retired from farming and traded for a new 5075E for use around the farm. Got 40 hours on it now, I dont have all the options you have on yours, and just the 520 loader, not the M. A few things I have noticed. Its a fuel hog. Compared to my Case CX70 I traded in on this it drinks the fuel. Cab is very nice, controls are good, I have no issues with the clutch as you indicate but the foot fuel pedal is horrid. i used it all the time on my Case but on this tractor I just cant use it without the tractor "jerking" from fast to slow RPMs. The E pto is great for bushhoging. The cab is much better than the old Case and I love it. The loader is WAY over sized for the tractor. That has been the biggest issue I have had. It will lift way more than the tractor can handel. I am so use to the bigger tractors and backhoes that this tractor scares me sometimes even with basalt and weights. I have to really watch what I do and try to pick up. Front tires seem small for the loader and the tractor size. overall I give it a 8.5 out of 10. really love it. This from a guy who has always drove Case or IH his whole life.
I recommend filling the tires with Rimguard. Gotta do something to hold that back end down!
I think the improved turning radius on the m & r series is like the larger kubota tractors such as a m135, they have 2 steering position sensors that engage a 2nd gear in the front of the transmission to make the front wheels turn faster then the rears so it helps pull the front end around faster. Seen them malfunction and brake too costing a ton of money!
Big boy toy . I still can,t say enough how I enjoy the videos .. thanks
I custom made new front wheels. 12.4x 20 rims. Handles a lot better. Kept the factory wheels and tires
the Jerky clutch is a deere problem in my opinion, because our 6M does the same (with the Powrquad transmission)... but it happens mostly when the tractor is cold. I got used to it anyway.
My three year old is a lot happier watching your videos with me when there’s a cat involved. She named her cat cuddles and snuggles. Yes it’s just one cat not a pair of cats…
The clutch pedal is not actually in contact with the clutch itself it operates a switch in the forward reverse control system. The clutch pack is operated electrically.
a good analogy for the EPTO would be like overdrive on a pickup truck when under normal driving it saves fuel but with heavy loads turn uverdrive off to get more power same with the EPTO need more power take it out of EPTO and rev the engine
11.2-24 r1w and 16.9-30 r1w tires are an option now according to deere website. I think everyone has complained about those little 9.5 tires for a long time.
On the 5075e??? If so, that is a recent change.
@@TractorTimewithTim yep, go to the build a tractor page on their website and it is now listed as an option.
The turning radius is better on the 5r because of the full frame construction. In europe the 5e has 24/12 as ann option. Air ride seat, 40kmh, 480/70-30 and 320/70-24 r1 wheels. Both on the new edition and older 5e models, creeper can be added with a rebuild kit.
I don’t know why the buddy seat is not an option when I went to Deere’s website and designed a 5075e and I could get the buddy seat. Good video though. Plan on getting one of these
You could get a buddy seat? Wasn’t an option when I purchased.
Tractor Time with Tim that is what I was thinking. And this tractor can pull a 15ft batwing shredder. I think they say the least amount of hp is like 45
I just talked to my brother last week.
4 yrs ago a brand new 2016 5075 (open station w/ factory ROPS top) he bought was unloaded on the farm since the B's and the A arrived new.
He has around 400 hrs on it now and recently, apparently a detent stuck and he didnt notice it. The rear end/hydraulics got so hot that it litterally melted the almost full fuel tank. They unhooked from the bailer and staryed spraying it with water so it didn't catch fire due to the excessive heat.
He claims that two dealers and the manufacturer will not stand behind it.
He also claimed that he has talked to others had the same problem with the same results. No one will stand behind them either.
Wanna see a 5R upgrade...Heck Yeah!!👍
Glad to see the mowing video wasn't your last video. Have we sent out the search parties to look for Mary? I hate to hear that she is missing and possibly gone.
I know most of the time you all stay with a conventional agricultural style of tractor, designed to do a bunch of work and they do. This video highlights many great points on the models, features, things to consider for the needs of an operation creature comforts. If i may add a question for all to ponder, the JD construction equipment line;specifically the JD210 has added several new options that could make it a strong candidate for a non construction task operation or business. Transmission is a shuttle with four gear ranges no clutch, cvt style I'm not sure. Plumbed for 3rd function as factory option, quick disconnect bucket option ( bucket to forks for example , I believe the loader arms are pinned on not quick disconnect). The newest feature i'm aware of in a factory or dealer installed PTO ( I believe its all hydraulically operated, a gear pump and additional plumbing like they use on front mounted PTO set ups). I recommend everyone look at the rear ballast on on of these skip loaders (JD210LE, J,M are some of the models) it's impressive! It would be great for you guys to explore a set up such as this for viewers: why does this model not cross into the ag and general purpose categories? Its a work horse made to be operated long hours of a day has a very functional transmission type. I think they offer a cab now apposed to just open station? Does green or yellow make a difference on if the tractor can perform the task?? Hopefully some will get a chance to look at this model and evaluate if it fits the needs and the budget, and admire the engineering , research and development that has gone into this machine. As a homeowner, now that you can get a PTO option, makes this tractor a go to option in my mind.
Hmm. Sounds interesting!
You and the cat did a very good review.
Did you have any notes to work from. If not, really nice .
no notes, but I had been thinking about this for a long time. I did spend a few minutes looking at the website comparison tool for some of the numbers...and I STILL messed up one of the ballast numbers. Oh well...I put the manual page on the screen to show the actual numbers.
Good info. Hope your cat Mary comes home!!
That is a big loader. I have an older but similar sized self levelling loader on a 2755 mfwd JD. It is rated for 3956 lbs bucket lift ( not pin) @ 17", so similar rating to the 520 m. They look almost identical, maybe the 245 was the template for the 520m?
I find it to be plenty of loader for the 2755, which became the 6300 when Deere went to the 1 thru 8 series numbers. It's quite a heavy machine, just over 12,000 lbs with loader on and fluid in tires, but no rear ballast. I add a 1500 lb 3 pt flail mower for loader work, otherwise the rear wheels (18.4x 34) get very light.
That tractor has 13.4 x 24 front tires which look well loaded when the bucket is lifted at full load. You can feel weight in the steering, which might be a good thing!
I can well imagine that the 9.5s are too narrow for your loader!
Great review, thanks.
I like a fast clutch helps with stall starts!!!
One thing, forgot to say was to go slower, the john deere you have can come with the creeper option 👍
Nice job explaining things Tim. I hope that Mary comes back, so Martha is not so lonely. Did Mary get locked in somewhere, or maybe hitched a ride with someone that visited you, or even maybe hitched a ride with you guys going somewhere?
Probably eaten by a Coyote.
Tim;
As you know, any tractor brand or implement is no better that the dealership network that supports it. All tractor's will eventually fail no matter how well your maintain them. I'm 57 years old and I've been in agriculture all of my life. For the last 25 years we've primarily run Deere tractors. Prior to that we run Ford and still have a few New Hollands. In the last 10 years Deere has forced the smaller dealerships (4-15 stores/locations) to merge into very large conglomerate's. My John Deere dealer now has 27 locations through out N. Carolina. In my area, the quality of the service departments as well as the parts personnel have decreased drastically. In your area you might find the complete opposite. The E series, in my humble opinion, are Mahaidra's painted green. The quality is far less than the Deere's I once operated. All tractors sold in the USA today are component tractor's sourced from all over the world.
I'll close with a thank you and ask that you continue to develope great content and share the gospel at every opportunity.
We really did not attempt to compare to any other machine. We don’t have sufficient knowledge and experience with this size range to do so.
I focused on some specific features (or lack of features) which I have found interesting (or lacking).
Trying to provide useful information without taking about stuff In which my expertise is insufficient.
Tim, youd make a great neighbor!
The valve for the reverser will get jumpy on tractors with some age on it. But with that being a new tractor it’s just how it is. I had a 6110M least last year and it was jumpy as well.
Please tell us if Mary comes back
Your videos are awesome 👌 and very informative 👏
Thanks Stanley!
That Cab is obviously very comfortable for Cats
FYI Tim, my local JD dealer currently has in stock a 5000e with 12.4x24 front ag tires. So something may be changing in your favor? I'm like you, I like wider front AG tires.
How funny I sold my 2038R and was hoping for a TTWT of the 5055E or 75E and BAM I found it.
One thing that struck me when I was at my dealer today was that the MSL lifts more, with a HUGE caveat: at 1.5 meters it doesn't. According to the pamphlet it lifts more to full height, but I really only ever lift to about that 4-5 foot height and as you say there isn't much reason to lift to the crazy height it tops out at. So now I'm not sure what to do!
Still a chance I may go with the 55 horse too, it will be a great deal easier to garage, but moving up in acreage and definitely need more weight, the 2038R found a great home so it's time to settle on a upgrade to the 2.
Hmm. I would not want a 5 series ONLY. Much too large for many of the jobs I do with a 1,2,3 series. Hard to navigate in comparison.
@@TractorTimewithTim Maybe I ought to grab a 1025 "for my wife" she thinks they're cute.
If you get a 5e, you will want a second little guy :-)
If I remember correctly Tim you have to Double clutch to change ranges.
I'll try it.
I’m glad you got 1 more video in before your insurance man said nope, no more 😂
Whew!
Great Review...!
Tim Christi the information is great most is greek to me never living on a farm thank you
