- You've done all the decluttering, but what you don't often see is what happens to the stuff you got rid of? What does the rest of your house look like?
Haven't seen the video that led to this mess watch it here...

Favorite chore is wiping countertops and cleaning the sink. Least favorite is cleaning the shower. I HATE cleaning the shower 🤣
For the toaster...we started storing ours in a cabinet ON a cookie sheet so the crumbs stay on the sheet rather than the cupboard shelf!! I found a smaller cookie sheet that was just slightly larger than our toaster and pull the toaster out on the sheet...it never leaves that tray!!
TERRIFIC IDEA!
That is a GREAT idea!!
Three positive things:
1. Acknowledging the progress I’ve made in counseling. I tend to minimalize my progress.
2. Got a free drink at the gas station
3. Scored some toys for my granddaughter on marketplace
For the cabinet front, if its not fixed yet, you pull the screws in the hinge to pull whats still hanging. You get wood glue and some clamps and glue the door front back together and let that dry for a good couple days. Then you hang the door back up once its dried
This is likely not enough- need to do this but add a corner bracket on the top and bottom so there is a metal reinforcement. The glue joint there will fall apart again without something. Not hard!!
3 year anniversary of my daughter's life-saving open heart surgery
Had lunch with my sister
Had a good harvest season
I took my first steps this week after spending years in a wheelchair.
Spent time with my husband and son, just being a family.
Made a beautiful chicken pot pie; it was delicious 😋
I love watching you clean… I love listening to you instead of wild noisy music. Lol….You are smart, witty, entertaining and very inspiring. Thank you for a great video.
I have fibromyalgia and terrible anxiety! Your videos really make me happy and I can so relate to them. You are such a sweet lady. I just love your whole family. Thank you for letting us into your life ❤
Thank you for these sweet words ❤️
Three positive things: my little dog is healing from her surgery, crockpot is in for dinner tonight, and I am making progress on my writing goals.
I love that u share the messes broken cabinet doors and another fridge replacement! It makes me feel like we're friends who are equally rough with our things 🙈😂
Re the dishwasher- put some detergent on the outside of the dispenser. Your dishwasher was designed to have soap present during the first cycle. The dispenser doesn't open until the second water fill. This can help your dishwasher do a better job. Just some great value powder does the trick.
Spent 9 days in hospital, good now, getting strength, appetite back and getting things done in house that haven't been taken care of for at 1 month, have felt like doing anything before now.
Be kind to yourself and take it easy on getting back into your routine. Don't want to overdo it and relapse.
God Bless you!
I might be late to the party but I can hopefully give some insight on storage. At our home we bought those 4 tier wire racks with plastic liners from Amazon/Lowe's and put that in the garage. Whenever, we need the air fryer, vitamix, electric griddle, to name a few, it's out on a storage rack. We have a few for specific uses. One for canned goods, baking, and the other for paper goods. The good thing about them is they all come with castors so it's easy to move and take inventory before grocery shopping. It has helped tremendously keeping things organized, less declutter in the kitchen, and cut down the costs of food/supplies 😇
3 things I’m thankful for:
1. My family and I will be going to Galveston, Texas for the weekend.
2. I attended a meditation class this morning.
3. Our 2 puppies are enrolled in puppy obedience 101. Looking forward to puppies that hopefully listen and obey in a month or two.
Some sweet children are going to find those books and fall in love!!!!
Appliances on our kitchen counter: My husband's Nespresso machine, toaster, Kitchen Aid Mixer and a food processor.
I love vacuuming.
Favorite Chore: Mowing/any yard stuff. Least Favorite: Dishes!!!
Only have a toaster on the counter but my kitchen is Tiny with a capital ‘T’! Three positives are a new job (which I am totally excited about!), I’ve lost a little weight and my diabetes numbers are down. Yay me!🎉
I don't like cleaning bathrooms/toilets either so now I keep supplies in every bathroom and clean it when I go. Hands are already dirty at that point which makes it easier on my brain somehow. Plus I only ever have 5 to 10 min to get things done with my 1 yr old around. Positives: 1. I made it solo parenting for 3 nights nearly 4 days alone while my husband was on a work trip with no meltdowns from me or my son. :) 2. Planned a lunch date with a Mama friend nearby. 3. Got an unexpected tax rebate just in time for Christmas. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
1. My husband and I have better communication now than ever before!
2. I'm in the mood for Christmas! I haven't been for 4 years.
3. I'm finally getting energy to get back to decluttering!
See you next time ☺️
Do you remember when? We use to call those MaMaw McMuffins😊. She made those for breakfast (when you were little) when we went to visit. By the way today would have been her 92 birthday. 😢 So blessed we had her for the 85 years we did. RIP Mama/Mamaw🙏🏻🌺✝️🌸
My favorite is washing dishes by hand. I don’t like putting the dishes away
No small appliances on my counters! I was blessed (finally) to have the cupboard space to store them! I have my ice maker and Keurig on a table that’s my coffee bar!
You really did alot!! Great job❤
Our air fryer and keruig are the only appliances that live on the counter. My husband converted the hall coat closet into nice deep wood shelves inside the closet. I keep the kids snacks/drinks organized on the bottom 2 shelves. Under the bottom shelf are shoe bins. The other 3 shelves hold my instapot, Crock-Pots, griddle, waffle makers, etc. There is a top shelf that's half the width. I keep table clothes and seasonal dishes up there. It's so nice to cut down on clutter and keep organized. (I live in north Florida, so yeah it gets a bit cold here and there but not enough to warrant an entire closet for them, space is a precious thing! We keep our coats on hooks behind bedroom doors.) 🥰
Karen's husband is so good! Bless his heart🤗
Only small appliances I have out are my Keurig and Ninja air fryer. We built a new house a few years ago and one of the “must haves” was a HUGE walk-in pantry with lots of shelves and countertops. That’s where the microwave, toaster and KitchenAid stand mixer live. (And other less-used stuff too.)
My 3 things are: my daughter Peyton got her second tooth, got my Christmas tree up and have really been enjoying doing brain dumps every morning!
1. Got to spend the weekend with my daughter 2. Successfully programmed the kindle fire stick 3. Finished my Christmas shopping
Another WBC (Wet Belly Club) member here! That cracked me up. 😊 And I needed that. I've been working for DAYS cleaning out my pantry (it's a big one & I'm a senior citizen) because of pantry moths & worms (yuk!). Not sure where they came from all of a sudden, but I've gone thru every item & tossed cereal & grain boxes. Now it's time to scrub the shelves, walls, & floor, & put everything back. Bet you can't guess where everything is sitting right now.... Yep, on my island & countertops, so I can relate. I ordered some airtight container sets from Amazon so I can store flour, cereal, etc in them. If it comes in a paper bag or cardboard, it's going in an airtight container straight from the store. I have always pre-washed my dishes at this house. My husband makes fun of me for it. There's only three of us, so I don't run the DW every day. I handwash my pots & pans, Will even dried on food come clean in the DW? Guess I'll have to try & see. I'll let you know. BTW, I loved your assembly line for the breakfast sandwiches.
3 good things:
Got 10 hours of sleep (been sick lol)
Finally able to enjoy coffee this morning
Snuggles with the puppy 🐶
Sleep has been amazing, I read a great book and spent much needed family time together.
My three blessings are: 1) had brunch with my two BFF’s. 2) my husband vacuumed our bedroom (we have 4 cats) 3) my son finished building our backyard deck! 🎉🎉🎉
Dana K White says "Take it there right now.". I adopted that habit.
I struggle with this so bad, but it is a great tip.
My three things are - my daughter sent me flowers for my birthday, we ate out at a carvery for my birthday, and I had a lovely interaction with an 80 year old lady, a complete stranger :-)
I am fortunate enough to have a walk in pantry. The whole bottom shelf are my appliances. I use, clean and replace after finished.
I keep out my coffee maker and foodie grill. Small appliances are in the cabinet with a carousel. My toaster I dump the tray often and keep a shoe box lid in the carousel to sit it in. Works great! ❤
Thanks for sharing!
Oh! Folding laundry when you empty the dryer into basket then put away, is a game changer for me!
A quick search on RUclips will give you plenty on ideas to fix that cabinet door.
You are so special to me. We are alot alike. I got to be with my grandchildren alot this weekend. I enjoy the weather and I enjoy happiness
You made me 🤣😊 with the “Hello Wet Belly Crew” I can relate with that. While doing dishes growing up I absolutely hated doing dishes because no matter what I’d always get my top wet especially my sleeves.
Neat idea with creating own wax melts.
I got over RSV, I set up my 2023 calendar, and I applied for a new job!
On our kitchen counters we have an air fryer, Keurig, stand mixer and a toaster. We have additional storage in a back room for the rest.😉
First snow of the season, talked to my sister-in-law about recipes, laughing at my dog.
I had carrying laundry upstairs. It’s all folded but I will put it off until the last thing. I don’t mind, cleaning, laundry, dishes, yard work ….I’m a super freak super freaky. I have downsized to a very small home and I don’t keep anything on my counters but a decorative ceramic dish. I try keeping things to a minimum.
Cooler days, my fave frozen chicken patties, and sleep! 💜💜💜
My 3 positives: baked a super yummy cake, bought myself some lipstick (hadn’t bought lipstick in forever) and unexpectedly met a friend at the grocery store (hadn’t seen her since August so we had a nice chat, and have planned to have coffee together next week!).
I am a member of the wet belly club when I wash dishes! I loved your facial expression when you took out the empty cookie packages, hilarious. I have very little counter space I keep the toaster, Kitchen Aid mixer and four big glass jars with flour, sugar and rice near the mixer Loved this video
I have some books I saved for little visitors and future grandchildren (my daughter is 13 LOL) but I couldn't keep aaallll the books. So we gave them away at Little Free Libraries and I hoped someone else would enjoy them too.
I removed all appliances from my countertop. I need the space and love the uncluttered look. For the toaster I put in a low-sided plastic container just bigger than the toaster and store it in a lower cabinet. It catches crumbs, I can reach down and grab the side of the container to bring it up to the counter, leave it in the container while I make toast, then quickly put it away.
❤️❤️❤️ I enjoy vacuuming and seriously dislike dusting.
My favorite chore is laundry. My hated chores are cooking and making the bed. Lol 💕💕💕
Only appliances out are ones we use every day: coffee maker, tea kettle, toaster. Blender, crockpots, and electric griddle go in a lower cabinet
Favorite- laundry
Least favorite - everything else, especially cooking
My Keurig stays out, microwave OBVIOUSLY, my crockpot and toaster is in the left hand side of pantry. The left side of pantry is used for storage of paper products and appliances, right side for food items. Laundry is my favorite chore, putting up laundry is my least lol. 1. I woke up this morning! 2. I made a new recipe Monday and I love it...crockpot angel chicken. 3. Cooler weather has arrived
Billie B mysteries!!! Such a huge hit in our house!
Three things... I went to lunch and shopping with a friend yesterday.
I talked to my beloved hubs who is in Texas seeing our kids and Grands.. I couldn't make it because of s health issue.
And three.... I got finished putting out all the Christmas decor
I loved your video!!! You are so special and awesome!!
Since I am alone now I will eat two ice cream sandwiches. 💕💕💕💕💕
I love watching dishes being washed too, especially with nice suds. 😜😁😁😁 I hate putting away dishes. LOL My three positive things are finally cool weather in Georgia 😁, had my niece all last week, and I have two days left of work this week and homeschool and will be taking a whole week break. ❤❤
Wet belly crew! I saw on another video that is girlies with chronic illness/EDS often lean on surfaces subconsciously and that’s why we also get the wet spot on our tummies when washing dishes. It all makes so much sense now 😂
1. I got 9 hrs of sleep and no nightmares 2. Started working on some paperwork I’ve been avoiding for months 3. I went to my mental health group yesterday. I was surprised because counselling was rough but it obviously did some good. Love your videos Shannon. Makes me feel less alone in the house struggle. We moved in 4 months ago and only half my house is liveable (downstairs) and the other half is full up with everything I can’t put upstairs.
Set your washer timer to wash zn hour before you wake up. You wake up and laundry is ready for thd dryer. Boom, doing chores in your sleep.
1. Your expressions crack me up, amen on half price books. 2. Going to a concert tomorrow night. 3. Hanging with friends on Friday night.
We keep an ice maker, microwave and can opener out. Everything else I store underneath the cabinets together.
Favourite is hoovering, least favourite is ironing !! Also leave your hand wash dishes to fully air dry don't cloth dry them it's more hygienic to air dry. Love your videos. 🎄⛄ G. Manchester, England.
We are planning to decorate for Christmas for the first time in about 10 years. We are keeping our grandson over night this weekend. Having a dinner date tonight with my closest cousin. Of the 4 of us that stay in touch she is the last one to have lost her mom. It has been very hard for her.
1. Took my car to the brake shop today (dealer recommended), only for them to call and tell me my brakes are fine. Thank goodness for honest car repair places, they are golden!!
2. My mom has had health issues (recovering from receiving a kidney), and she’s finally feeling a little better!
3. Work gave us an extra paid day off for Thanksgiving, so I have more time to prepare and more time with the kids!
Love your videos, so real and motivational!!
We only keep out the coffee maker.. We keep the rest of the stuff either in the pantry or in the lazy Susan, or if it's something we dont' use that often we can store it downstairs.
I finally went to the doctor and although I'm in a lot of pain I feel super blessed to have kids that very helpful and loving. That's as positive as I get today. lol ❤
I keep my Keurig, an electric kettle, and my Kitchenaid stand mixer on the counter. All of my others are stored in my enclosed back porch on a set of wire shelves. Because they can get dusty, I purchased a plastic zipper cover that works on those shelves. They stay clean and out of the way until I need them.
You always make me laugh at least once in your videos. I can’t say that about many other RUclipsrs. today it was your face when you found the empty cookie packages 🤣
Toaster on my breakfast island wall side with tray underneath for crumbs. Microwave and kettle side of sink. Slow cooker in the press with the heavy blender /robocoup
I keep a stand mixer, coffee maker on the counters because I have very little counter space! I have a ton of kitchen gadgets and small appliances that I keep on a wire rack ! I have my ninja foodie on a rolling cart that I can wheel around when I need it🤗
You have such a great personality. I really enjoy your videos and the way you tell it like it is. 💕
I just discovered your site. I am enjoying it immensely ! I can REALLY relate to all that you are saying, plus learning good tips also. Thank You again for your encouraging videos ! I will continue to watch !
To answer your question about appliances, the only appliance I keep on my counter is my Keurig. Everything else I store in my bottom kitchen cabinets since I have a pretty small pantry. It makes it easier to keep my counters clean, and I don't use any appliance every single day except for the Keurig. Plus I don't like looking at appliances. I think they're ugly 😂, so I want them out of sight when I'm not using them.
You can make a pretty curtain to cover the front of cabinet. Use a tension rod.
Shannon! We need “wet belly crew” merch!! Glad I’m not alone!! What’s up!
Another person I watch got a new dishwasher during a remodel a few years ago. She thought it didn’t work well at all, called manufacturer and they said to *not* rinse the dishes first.
1) I’ve had night-sleep the past couple nights 😳
2) had to do a brief store run last night and anxiety almost wasn’t there 🎉
3) watching videos of people I enjoy 😊
Nice 👍 tip about making wax melts! Thanks
I was also told not to rinse my dishes for the dishwasher soap to work ( I do wipe off the bigger chunks of food). I have the microwave, coffee maker and the stand mixer on the counter. I would really like a bare countertop though. Our family's downfall is the dining room table. It's a magnet for stuff. We have one week to clear everything off so that we can have Thanksgiving dinner. It'll look good for one day, and then I'll start nagging that Christmas is coming. Have a great day.
We have an old house with very little counter space. I only keep out my toaster and coffee pot. We have a microwave stand with a shelf and cabinet that house the microwave and instant pot. We only have 2 outlets in our kitchen, because the house was built in 1922 and they just didn't need more outlets apparently. I do have a canning kitchen in my basement and that is where I do Holliday cooking or bulk cooking etc..the other benefit of having an older home.
I have my Vitamix and my soda stream on my counters. We have two toasters (a kid with celiac in the house) and are away in the cabinets. (separate cabinets) My crockpot is also in a kitchen cabinet. My KitchenAid is in my laundry room cabinet and my air fryer and instant pot are in my foyer closet on a shelf. When we retire in a few years, my dream house will have a walk-in pantry with plenty of space for all the small appliances. One can dream!!
Let's see, three thankful things:
1. I got back on my old BP med and it is just starting to work. We tried to change it because insurance didn't like paying for what worked for me. Hoping the doctor can petition insurance for me to get it approved.
2. Thankful that I am getting back on track with my "diet". I'm following Dr. Stephen Gundry to heal my gut and the pounds have been dropping off, but I hit a stall when we switched BP meds and I got sick with a bad cold. Blah! But...back on track. :)
3. Thankful that we are getting to the point of putting our veggie garden to bed for the season. We had a great season with our small garden and I love trying new things. Just planted garlic for the first time last month. It's fun!
My 3 positive things is, I woke up this morning and I have been married to the love of my life for 35 years..(yes, our anniversary is New Years Eve,) next, I woke up without pain in my back and last I am so happy to see your video today. I love your sense of humor. You are such a joy! ❤️❤️❤️
Happy Belated Anniversary!
Great job! Do figure out where the filter is on your dishwasher and put it on the calendar to clean it out periodically so that you can help to keep the dishwasher from having issues.
I would swap air fryer and toaster.Putting air fryer in corner would allow the corner to be used to the back and the toaster oven would take of less space if was straight instead in the corner.
Yes,definitely!👍
I love washing dishes drying dishes not so much! Laundry I love doing. Dusting I hate!! We have a wood burning stove and it seems like the dust is never ending.
Toaster and kettle out, both used daily and toaster isn't just for breakfast time, sometimes baked beans on toast, eggs on toast for lunch. Currently doing potato waffles in toaster so no need to put oven on.
Hand held mixer, stand mixer (kenwood) are in cupboard. I don't have a slow cooker or similar.
Otherwise dishwasher, stove, fridge freezer and washing machine (as that's where they are often plumbed in in UK) are in the kitchen.
I put my toaster oven up on an open shelf. Instant pot, kitchenaid, and coffee pot stay on the counter.
Well done!! I'm trying to get routines set as habits. I just got the Fly lady app. That helps me a lot. It has a timer!!! Neat stuff!! You're doing great!!!! My husband reminds me that the children are growing up and will pitch in more and more. They love helping! I just need to delegate a bit more and trust them.
We have a coffee maker and a crock for utensils, that's it!
I love seeing a clean bedroom every morning, with the bed made. I do not like cleaning the shower or tub. I got my tree up and decorated this week because I’m going to be gone for Thanksgiving and when I return I’ll be having knee replacement surgery. I wanted everything decorated before I left. This was really hard for me because I never do this until after Thanksgiving. I think that Holiday is a must that we shouldn’t forget. We have so much to be thankful for. I set up for my yard sale and have 20 boxes of stuff. It’s taken me a month to go through most of the packing boxes from our move in October. I wasn’t sure what we would need and we couldn’t afford to buy all new things. Still have 8 small boxes for the dining room but until I find a sideboard on Marketplace I can deal with them. That room is our biggest challenge. And the garage. Going from a house with a basement, attic, and a huge double garage to a tiny double garage for basically golf carts has been daunting. After 2 yard sales and 5 loads to the thrift donation store, I thought I had gotten rid of enough things. NOT! So another sale is for this weekend. I love our new house but it is getting used to areas that are just a shade too small or a shade too big. Nothing is perfect but it is coming along and I am very grateful we had this chance to move and get this home. Love your Vlog and feel right at home. Take Care!
Excellent DIY wax warmer refills
I hate sweeping/washing floors. My counters aren't empty by any means. I have a coffee machine, toaster oven, knife block, a cake stand with coffee, honey, spoons, salt/pepper. Oils and spice turntable, a small lamp and salt lamp, and 3 real plants lol. I keep the other appliances in my walk in pantry. I'm not a minimalist whatsoever.
The only small appliance I keep out is our coffee pot. The rest are mini size and all fit in one cabinet. I don't have a favorite chore but I don't mind laundry. I loathe dusting and cleaning toilets goes without saying.
I love folding the laundry and hate washing the dishes
Sie sind so lustig und ich lache immer sehr über die Dinge, die in ihrer Familie passieren. Willkommen im Club, ich bin nicht alleine in dieser Welt!
I can relate to the laundry struggle. When my kids were younger and still at home, there were times I took all my laundry to the laundromat to use the huge washers and get it all done at once. 😅 I'd read a book or do some planning. Just make sure to fold it all there and put it away immediately or that clean laundry mountain will haunt you.
I have considered doing that a time or two. Sounds kind of nice to have that hour or two to myself 😂
I keep struggling with the name something positive that happened to me thing..... the way I look at life, I participate in it, I sleep. Sleep doesn't happen to me. It gives me more of a sense of control in my life.
The cabinet door!!! Infuriating 😳. My daughter has done this multiple times in her bathroom. It happens when she either throws the door open too fast -or- leaves it open and later bumps into it. It's a super easy fix. Wood glue and clamps. You wonts even be able to tell it happened. Honestly - if we can do it, you can do it. Good luck! You've got this. We procrastinated forever (like a year) and it was super easy. Literally 10 minutes plus drying time.
Hi sweetie , I only have enough counter space for knife block cooking utensils and coffee maker lol ! I would love to have enough counter space for my kitchen aid . That thing is a heavy beast !
In my kitchen I just have the microwave, halogen oven, a jar of cooking utensils, food scrap caddy and a tray with coffee making stuff. I have no dishwasher so all my pots are done by hand. I leave them to soak in soapy water for half an hour, then come back and wash them. I don't mind washing pots at all, but I hate cleaning windows.
As much as I hate washing dishes (we don't own a dishwasher), I appreciate knowing that my family has eaten.
Beautiful. I always try and find the blessing in the mess.
The only appliance I have on my counter is my ice maker. But very small household. I keep all the small appliances in the pantry
I came home to find my whole kitchen clean - I'm not complaining but then I'm like ahhh there goes my filming content LOL
