That classic rock channel stil sounds brutal. Wouldn't expect that from a Marshall.
These sound anazing, Jarrod. Looking forward to the ToneX pack.
Thank you very much. I'll be working on the tonex ones tomorrow
@@TONEWARSgearshow Fantastic!
Oh hell yeah! I asked you about doing the capture for this amp. I'm waiting for the TONEX.
I'll be doing tonex captures tomorrow
JMP-1 sounds great with the Marshall 9200. For Marshall heavy tones it is spot on. I love mine, and although I play my Triaxis and my ADA MP-1 3TM more, I always have a soft spot for the JMP-1. The OD-1 sounds great boosted as well, it is instant Yngwie with a DOD250 in front.
Another great video. I had Trace mod my JMP-1 & my experience mirrors yours.
Ayo! First! Great video as always.
This amp goes to show that solid state can sound just as good as tube (this preamp is a hybrid/mostly solid state circuit)
just like the ada mp1
it should become standard that capture packs should include specific settings for specific types of guitars and pick ups. For instance, I could not use your capture pack because I use a strat with a Lollar imperials which are vintage PAF style. I’m not sure I could use any of your packs as it seems you set your amps for metal style guitars and pick ups. I would highly recommend that for the future, or updating existing packs for that variety in customers. Otherwise, we can only buy from creators who are just like we are. Who use gear that’s only close to what we have.
Thanks for commenting and sharing your perspective. In order for me to dial in amps for those types of guitars, pickups and genres of playing, I would have to own guitars with those pickups and play in that genre. Unfortunately, I do not own any guitars with those type of pickups, I don't own any Strat guitars and I definitely don't play those types of genres of music. So even if I did own those types of guitars and pickups, I still don't play that genre and don't have any understanding of what you guys would prefer for what you do. I just stay in my lane and stick to what I know. I definitely don't want to pretend to know what you guys want. Again, thanks for sharing your perspective. I hope you understand where I'm coming from
What voicing on the power amp are you using? Those have a switch for Modern/Vintage. BTW, those JMP-1 pres sounded great with T75s and Greenbacks. Also, if you like that tone then try and find an early JCM 900 DR with EL34s that was made before the tube scare in the early 90's when they switched to 5881s for a few years. Those are killer Marshalls if you do two things with them....1) Crank it to at least 7 and 2) use a shorty cord in the loop.
I'm using the modern voicing (B)
Any chance you plan on making any NAM Captures of your amps ?
Thanks for asking. I absolutely will do that. Once I get the process perfected, I will be making captions for that as well
No Tone Wars Stream tonight?
No, sorry. I announced it in the community section.
I'm beat from all the work I did in the heat this week.
@@TONEWARSgearshow I hope you get rested up. I look forward to the next stream. Sorry I did not see that in the community area.
Do you think you're gonna buy a jmp1 then? Or do you settle on the capture?
The captures sound great. I'll stich with those for now
I wish Voodoo Amps still did mods. Hard to find anyone these days that still mods.
Apparently the mods were mostly useless (slightly noise reduction)... This according someone who played a stock jmp1 for more than 20 years and then decided to do the Voodoo mods.
@@lovecraftmusic8717 You were told wrong. I'm very familiar with the stock JMP-1 (which is a beast in its own right). After the Voodoo Platinum Mod it's an entirely better beast. Not different, it still sounds similar to a JMP-1 but just ...better. Not sure how to describe it. Also, like Jerrod said, you don't have to do much to dial in an amazing sound. Without the mod, it could be a bit fiddly.
Same experience with my DSL100 and a TSL100 I used to own. Voodoo's mods were fantastic.
@@TheGuitarNerdShow i wasn't told... It's written on a forum and I read it few days ago for the second time after some years; and if I remember well I also read something similar by other people.
@@TheGuitarNerdShow anyway I won't ever pay almost a grand for a mod on a 300€ unit (that was previously sold even cheaper at 150€ before the pandemic)... No matter how good.
