    5 kHz - Great for large silver coins.
    10 kHz - Good for smaller coins.
    15 kHz - A good general treasure detecting mode.
    20 kHz - Ideal for general treasure detecting and gold prospecting.
    40 kHz - Optimum sensitivity to very small gold nuggets.
    Great Video, I thought it would help to add what each Frequency is good for. Love the solo digs! Awesome job!

    I just love your videos. I don't use a metal detector, I just find stuff all the time anyways. I don't drive any more so even if I had a metal detector the only place I could use it at is a couple of tot lot parks nearby. I live right downtown so not a lot of green spaces. But you two are such fun to watch just for the heck of it.

    Found it the other way around factory setting field 2 which is the deepest setting on the nox 800, multi on, then if you hit a target switch to 10 hrtz with full metal it will give you plus sign if it's a good target a minus if its rubbish.

    Well, I going to show you a tip I use and snail a lot of gold rings, that's the only thing I dig. I use a Nox 800 and gold the best conductor. So, you don't need a lot of power to find a gold ring. I dig 9-18 only , don't dig coin signals. Now the kicker set your sensittity

    • @TogetherForTreasure
      @TogetherForTreasure  Год назад

      Thanks for the comment John d! Irene and I have been testing our Nox 800's in various soils and found out a ton about how targets are reported on the VDI and Audio. In short, the VDI can 'LIE' about the target # under the coil due to Soil Mineralization like Iron, Target Size, Target Orientation in the Ground, and a few other things like Depth. The best and safest method we have found is to listen for a repeating signal and then test if it can repeat without jumping all over. We have silver earrings and gold rings giving wildly inaccurate VDI readings due to Iron in the soil and depth. Happy hunting!

    • @TogetherForTreasure

      Hi Steven! The All metal mode seems to take the frequency with the "Best Report" and just runs with it. We didn't have enough data to make a reasonable theory as the Multi Freq was all over. However when switching to any single Freq a dramatic change could easily be heard. We should get out and see if we can whittle down some points on the Multi Freq. Hope you get those silvers! Thank you and hello from California.

      Thank you Steven!
      Great question!
      I have not practiced this method at the beach and here's why. For starters, Its easy digging in the sand. Targets on the beach are usually "few and far between" and honestly I dig everything when I'm beach hunting. I also feel like it would take me longer to go through the settings/modes to switch frequencies, when I can just take a scoop or two and listen to the tones to decide if its worth digging. Keep in mind when hunting in Beach mood 1 or 2 the control panel will not allow you to toggle into any of the single frequency meaning you would have to switch out of beach mode (1 or 2) and into either park, field or gold mode in order to practice this method.

      Andrew is going to scour through our footage and see if we have me detecting gold using this. If not, he will be sure to test it soon. As always for others reading this we recommend 'Digging it All' as Soil Mineralization, Multiple Targets, and even EMI Noise can cause undesirable VDI readings. This trick is to save your time on a quick hunt or your back after a long one! Great insight! Underground Calling Happy hunting, hope your on the gold.

    • @TogetherForTreasure
      @TogetherForTreasure  2 года назад

      4 khz is a blessing on the Nox! It really does do a great job combating the iron in our soils and the bottlecap menace. Missing a few things is the name of the game. A great tip we offer to other detectorists is change the direction of your hunt! If everyone starts at the entrance of the park and walks to the back, try starting at the back and walking to the front! The direction of travel has opened up targets for us even on hunted out pieces of land.

      I’m planning a search in the bay that has quite firm substrate and in the past using my excaliber two, I was digging aluminum beer cans that were 2 feet deep and taking tremendous energy and time to retrieve. Now I have the Equinox 800 and I’m learning all that I can before I get back out. Yesterday I did some quick park searching and certainly my 11 inch coil goes nice and deep and let me tell you some of that trash was deep. I’m certainly going to test out toggling through frequencies after getting signals and I’ll let you know how it goes!

    My question is a little bit off your subject here but I have to ask. When you guys dig a plug if you ever go back a day or two later and found the plug has turned brown? I thought I was digging my plugs correctly to keep things looking good after I was done but I’ve seen some turned brown on me and I’m not sure if the grass comes back.

    • @TogetherForTreasure
      @TogetherForTreasure  2 года назад

      Hey Joe! That is a great insight. We had noticed this in some of our parks and not others. Asking around with the groundskeepers and park maintenance folks who are specialists in keeping these pieces of land green, It has to do with the grass being, "shocked and or stressed" (their words) and converting more energy to Root and Repair than to grow the blades of grass. They explained the grasses we use for lawns and parks grow from the root and not the shoot so it may be an adopted defense from grazing animals that pull roots (like Goats) vs. animals that trim or bite like horses. So when the roots get moved the grass would convert more energy to rooting leaving the tops brown and less desirable looking to continued grazing. We started combating this as Detectorists buy cutting more of a flap ( Like a half circle) and leaving more topsoil with the roots. 100% of the park maintenance guys agreed they are combating dead grass buildup and wet areas by "aerating" or poking holes into the turf so not to worry unless we are chopping up sections or digging craters for others to break an ankle in. Hope that bit helps!

      Will do Texmex, I had to watch the video so I could scold Irene. Turns out she was turning off her headphones not the head unit so the viewers could hear the machine. Thanks for the tip! The BT feature does drain the battery if you are not using BT headphones.

    Have you tried with pull tabs? Those come in at 13 or so.

    • @TogetherForTreasure

      Great question! We had a handful of clips that didn't make the video and the theory held true. The different frequencies would report wide variations on all the undesirable items. The caveat is you really have to be sure it is one target and not a pair close together. Most of the time we would dig it all. This trick is great if you are short on time or the digging is rough and tough.

      @@TogetherForTreasure I went out today to try it on the Nox800. I got some good targets at 13. I tried the different frequencies they all seem to be consistent to 14 or 13. The other non coin targets seems to work pretty well. I usually average $10 to $15 per hunt. Its all about clad in my book. hehe.

    Can I do this for beach settings ?

    • @TogetherForTreasure
      @TogetherForTreasure  Год назад

      Hey Helicapt! Beach 1 and 2 on the Equinox lock our frequencies to the 'Multi' setting. You can use Field 2 on the beach and do this. I've had great success using Field 2 for horribly trash filled areas in the dry sand.

      Thanks Andrew! We found this really makes a difference when we are short on time our just over worked from dirt digging for the day. We have rocky and clay soil locally and since the drought its concrete. Hope you are on the gold.

      Thanks for the comment John d! On one of our older beaches we had found the iron in the sand skews the VDI #'s but will still produce good target tones. Trust the Sound First and the VDI Second. We had a few gold rings show up as negative Iron numbers because they were very deep for the Nox 800. It all depends on your soil but we had a gold ring come up as 10cent dime numbers 23-25 too. Wild I know, but the machine gave a great SOLID report but the VDI number was 'Off' from what we'd expect. Always learning something new about our machines and we still dig it all for fun.

    You're supposed to noise cancel when you change frequencies according to the manual

    • @TogetherForTreasure
      @TogetherForTreasure  2 года назад

      This is true! We also have noticed the single frequencies tend to be 'Quieter' and we eventually got lazy with the 'noise canceling step.' For best performance and if you're still getting a ton of 'chatter', You are 100% correct LaGambina! Thank you for helping us and all of the detectorists on our channel. Great Tip!

    This 'toggle' method seems to respond best in ALL METAL- which your Park 2 appears to be set to.

    • @TogetherForTreasure
      @TogetherForTreasure  Год назад +1

      For sure guitawrizt! We have to use All Metal with this as notching out Iron would give us less info about the target.
