Minelabs warranty stays with the machine. If you do wish to register the unit do so with your name as you're the owner. Minelab stands behind all their products and have always been spot on with warranty requests for us. Just remember it's your machine now, so if it's never been registered please do so as the warranty is from the original purchase date. Happy Hunting!

For sure! We always err on the side of caution and disbelief until we test it. We use both the specific gravity test and testing acid to verify if its miss marked. With all the trash and costume jewelry we find our real OMG reaction is at home when its tests out to be real. The real mind blowing thing is who in the world would wear this to the beach? Hey Astral! We have every piece of real jewelry we've ever found sitting in a bank deposit box for that reason. I wear my great grandfather's wedding band and would be devastated to see it lost. As always if anyone has lost something valuable and we find it we can get it to them. Happy Hunting

The series of coins, or hitting "The Cycle," is not as amazing as finding jewelry for sure. The reason Irene, I, and other MD's do it is to stay engaged in hunting through trashy areas or slow hunts with low targets. A lot of hunts end with "Hitting the Quarter, Dime, Nickel, Cent combo," as a lot of times there's really no other targets to keep you at that spot longer than that. So, you are 100% correct, it's just a simple way to stay focused on hunting, not any real value.

Thanks for the kind words Robert. Irene And I are having a blast being parents but little Rosemary is sucking up all of our free time. Dang kid is going to be the best Detectorist with Uncle Jim and Irene teaching her. I can only imagine the hoard she will have by the time she is our age.

Great question Robert. We hunt in a lot of black sand and usually you will notice if you're starting to get false signals on areas that should be 'quiet' we do look under the coil guard to see if there is an amount accumulated. Usually however we hunt through it as there's just so much black sand it would be a never-ending clean up.

It really is an oddity. I always thought the fishing weights and heavy iron debris would be the sign for Gold signals. But I went back over our old videos and all of the large sand movements and after storm hunts have a ton of keys and a ton of jewelry. So far, Nickels and Rings, tent stakes and Quarters, Keys and Jewelry, Then Bullet casings and watches/ bracelets seem to be common to find together. Just a wild coincidence maybe but we will take it and keep notes for future tips.

We haven't scrapped any treasure yet! When it is just odds and ends with no chance of finding the owner, we sort it by precious metal and put it into a box at the bank for retirement or our little daughters college fund with the rest of the treasure we find. However, Andrew did some blacksmithing during high school and still has his forge and casting furnace we use for casting our copper, lead fish weights and brass. We may have to make some room at the bank soon though. We most likely will offer it up to our subscribers as it is some really cool treasure and would hate to melt it.
