Taylor's longevity is insane considering the amount of shit she was getting back then and it's just fun to see how most people appreciate and respect her music now. Katy seems like she's done with mainstream music scene and now just makes bops casually here and then overall they both seem happy and that's what matters the most
Katy Perry is a flop now sorry
@@camilleramores9998 fr. And in swish swish she sings “im gonna stick around” but she didn’t. She also shaded Taylor by saying “Your game is tired

It hurts me deeply to see how Katy’s mainstream career has declined but she’s made a huge mark in pop music and NO ONE can take that away from her
honestly, be happy for her! i think katy’s “downfall” was intentional. she’s talked openly about how she never had a childhood and becoming katy perry stunted her growth. there was a point where she was having a mental breakdown and felt like the world didn’t know who she was and put her underneath a microscope. i honestly don’t think she wanted the fame anymore and her priorities shifted to her new family. she just had a residency and it got great reviews so she’s doing well! she definitely doesn’t want to be a mainstream popstar anymore; i think the pressure was getting to be too much on her.
She's still #32 with 48 million monthly listeners on spotify tho. She's crearly not on her peak, but she's doing great even above Olivia, Gaga, etc.

Katy Perry had one of the hardest fall offs in music history
Katy Perry thought Swish Swish was a good song.
@@jalennelson6821 i only liked nicki’s verse on that song. i didn’t even like the music video
And it was so sudden too.
As soon as the prism era ended she went downhill.
Maybe it was the whole image change she did with cutting her hair and acting all weird
Yb never fell off btw🐐
@@WISH.OFFIClAL totally agree. She started acting all weird for some reason. The new persona was just not it (at least not for a lot of people). She releases good music every now and then but her era is gone.
i think in the end they both won. Katy doesn’t have the chart success that she once did, but she has more than cemented her legacy with teenage dream and prism. taylor only gained more popularity with each release following 1989 and she’s still doing great today. but they’ve made up and both seem to be living their best lives, so i’d say that’s a win for both parties.
Hoe stay I like Katy Perry music more than pervious Taylor. Idk, it just doesn’t feel right to me
people seem to forget that katy has a fiancé and baby at home. her priorities have clearly shifted from what they once were. she’s talked about how hard being “katy perry” was on her and how badly that affected her mental health. she obviously doesn’t prioritize her fame and career anymore.
I agree as I never listened to Taylor until 1989. but Katy's Teenage Dream has fond memories.
Lol. No way she got popular only after 1989. Speak Now was a massive hit ! She wrote that entire album alone herself.
I think with how Taylor spun the narrative is interesting because she said in an interview that if she wasn’t doing music she might have been working in marketing. In my mind she’s always been doing both.
I love TS but she is very sly and petty that is what I also love about her.
Taylor is a lot less innocent than she acts, she‘s probably not a bad person but just look at how often her "celebrity friends" change
Because she’s a mastermind with that vigilante shīt.
No- she said she would have been an English teacher
😅😅😂 TS should NOT be viewed as an innocent pacifist person at least
Many things but that (no offense intended)
I like Katy’s music too but i think Taylor won overall because she is still putting out chart toppers. Whether you like her music or not. There’s no denying to the fact that she is putting out hit albums one after another and she is shattering records.
well and Taylor’s magic is in storytelling, especially storytelling about her own experiences. Katy’s music wasn’t as descriptive and personable.

Her albums like evermore and folklore hit #1 on billboard top 200 and broke countless records. Her re-recorded albums also did the same. I can bet if katy put out old music in re-recorded form she won’t even be in top 10 let alone at number 1 spot. She had hit and chart topper music in past. Long term, even if they aren't beefing anymore, Taylor definitely won.

This is NOT a “win or lose” situation. There’s no competition! Both women are successful in their own way.
Taylor is doing her music (which is good for her) and Katy is obviously taking a break chart topping music projects to focus on her personal life. Keep in mind she’s now the mother of a 2-year-old kid. So I’m assuming that’s where her priorities are. That could be why she chooses to just host tv shows like the Voice as it’s mess demanding. Try to imagine how hard it is being on the rode 24/7 like Taylor and being unable to spend enough time your kids and family. Katy doesn’t deserved to be shamed or compared to other celebrities.
Its also worth mentioning that not long after the release of Swish Swish music video, Taylor dropped LWYMMD, a diss track about Kanye West, not even mentioning Katy, as its been 3 years since Bad Blood at that point, makes Taylor look like the winner to me, not just because of how both their careers has gone since
also only lwymmd went #1 with 1000+ points so Taylor won
Its about the Message of the Disstrack’s not commercial success.
Both Disses were Weak but Katy’s just was a little bit better + it was a good move bringing in Nicki Minaj

I love both women but i think the answer is easy: Taylor
Katy fell off after Witness (i actually really liked the album but i think everyone can agree the single choices were poor and the "wokeness" she tried to sell off was corny and cringey)and Smile her newest album is her worst in my opinion, Taylor on the other hand has the most iconic comeback in history (Reputation)and even after releasing a weak album (Lover)she came back with Albums like Folklore,Evermore and Midnights, plus even Pre-Witness Taylor CLEARLY had the better music
I think the smartest thing Taylor did was switch genres from country to pop. I remember people saying she was a sellout but I think that her choice gave her more flexibility and commercial success.
Taylor doesn't have the most iconic comeback in popular music History with Reputation. It's not even close to Tina Turner 1984 comeback with What's Love Got to do with It and her blockbuster album that followed Private Dancer at the age of 44, 8 years after her divorce with Ike and after she went broke. Cher's If I Could Turn back Time in 1987 at 42 and Belive in 1998 at 53 and went number 1 on the hot 100 (oldest woman to reach number 1 on the hot 100), became the best selling song of 1999 in front of songs like Britney Spears' Baby One More Time or TLC's No Scrubs in the US and globally. Madonna in 1998 at 40 with her magnum opus "Ray Of Light" with Frozen and the title track which became some of her best selling songs of her career. She was defying ageism and sexism in the industry at the peak of the teen pop explosion lead by the Britneys and Christinas. It was after she gave birth to Lourdes in 1997 which heavily influenced the conception of the album. And she still managed to sell over 16 million copies ww. But also, in 2005 at 47 with Confessions on a dancefloor with Hung Up which entered the Guinness World record when it went number 1 in 40 countries becoming the song by a female artist to go number 1 on the most country official charts, surpassing Kylie Minogue 2001 iconic signature hit "Can't Get You Out of My head" which went number 1 in 35 countries. It was post her 2003 VERY polarizing "American Life" album era in the middle of the Iraq War under the Bush administration that got the Chicks cancelled and almost her and Susan Sarandon cancelled for their anti war views. But she rose above it two years later at 47, 23 years into her career with her dance/disco oriented 10th studio album, an Abba "Gimme gimme" sample lead single and production from British producer Stuart Price (Dua Lipa's Future Nostalgia) and went on to sell 12 million copies of Confessions ww. We can't forget Mariah Carey 2005 "The Emancipation of Mimi" album, which is another great ICONIC comeback in music History. It was after 2001-2004 "flop era" following the disaster that was the 2001 "Glitter" movie which came out on 9/11 on top of it and her mental breadown (she got diagnosed with bipolar disorder at that time and was overworked). The media was saying that she was over. Tommy Mottola was sabotaging her and using J-Lo as his tool behind the scenes, stealing her sample ideas.... But she came back with It's Like That and then We belong together went number 1 for 14 non consecutive weeks (the longest running number 1 song of the 2000s, song of the year and song of 2000s on the hot 100). It blocked her single Shake It off from the number 1 spot for 3 weeks. Don't Forget about Us aka WBT 2.0 (from the deluxe version) went number 1 in 2006 on the hot 100. She went 7× Platinum in the US, sold over 10 million record ww, swept the billboard music awards, Soul Train awards and won 3 grammys in 2005. Kanye West with 2010 magnum opus "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" after he retired in Japan and Hawaii following the Taylor Swift incident at the 2009 Vmas is one of the most iconic comeback of the past decade
@@angechrisman1694 Cher no longer holds that record, Kate Bush does and you could make an argument that she now has the biggest comeback in music history. While she was a critical darling she used to be a one hit wonder with 1979s Wuthering Heights and had her comeback with a song she did 35 years ago.
That's Like if Silento gets a number one hit in 2050 with a song he did a few years ago.
@@Chelaxim Kate Bush wasn't considered a one hit wonder tho. Her 1980s classic song "This Woman's work" was famously covered by Maxwell in 2000 on the Love & Basketball soundrack. @@Chelaxim Silento and Designer are true one-hit wonder. TSwift and Katy Perry are like two sides of the same coin. When it comes to icons in Pop history, you don't think about one without thinking of the other. Katy had more of a fall off admittedly, but I think her earlier work has more than done its job at cementing her as an icon. Katy lived and died by mainstream pop. Yes she did fall off after Witness commercially, but mainstream pop also took a major nosedive after the mid 2010s. Taylor moved into pop after a very successful career in country and I believe this is a major reason she managed to find longevity.
Katy’s music didn’t “die”. She’s just taking it easy and taking on projects that are less demanding to focus on herself and family. Didn’t she just have a kid on top of that? Maybe that’s where her priority currently is. It’s very difficult to spend time with your family and raise kids when you’re constantly touring and away from home. She doesn’t deserved to be shamed for it.
@@amylee8969 No. Not at all. Let's use Adele as an example; Adele takes long breaks as well and disappears after each releases (and take note that she has a family as well), but when she comes back, she's more hyped and successful than before. Let's be real here, Katy failed to create a loyal fanbase, unlike her pop contenders. Katycats (not all) basically abandoned her when she started distancing herself from the bubble gum pop persona she thrived off. They threw her under the bus when she started to make her music more political. Unlike Taylor who had a successful conclusion when she did the same thing. A lot of of her "fans" only likes the quirky popstar she once was (the same thing happened to Lorde, she released her overwhelmingly iconic sophomore album that when she finally turned in her 3rd project, everyone was underwhelmed and disappointed because it's nothing like her 2nd album)

Bad Blood ft. Nicki Minaj (Taylor’s version) would break the internet
Taylor swift is in the era wherein any songs she releases will always top the charts. She has a freaking solid fanbase and have been relevant up until today
We want your opinion on Midnights and on how Taylor is breaking every possible record
Katy tried one-upping herself while staying the same. Taylor kept what people loved about her, songwriting, and reinvented herself. Also genius marketing (surprise album? Folk? People at it up). Both are iconic regardless.
Taylor’s songwriting actually got better and better tbh. She also has capitalised on the internet in her personal life. She communicates through her songs and everyone wants to hear what she’s gonna say.
I hope Katy can have a decent comeback (if she wants). She is an icon, but unfortunately she is constantly made fun of in the internet due to her latest numbers and this have had a negative impact on her legacy (since she was pretty much known for achieving great numbers and chart positions). I believe she can have at least one last huge hit in order to reclaim her legendary status, it is all a matter of making the correct merchandising and promotion.
tbh i don’t think she wants that. if you watch her therapy session on youtube then you can tell she’s pretty traumatized from fame. being “katy perry” and having all eyes on her pushed her towards a mental breakdown. i know she wasn’t doing good for a while so it seems like she’s trying to keep it lowkey going forward. i’d love to see a comeback but she seems pretty content being a mom and fiancé.

Both talented but I love Taylor’s lyrics just like reading a good book so many clever nuances
Bad Blood is listenable, while Swish Swish is unbearable.
Only reason to listen to that song is for the Nicki verse 😭
Alternate video title:
“Bad Blood .vs. Swish Swish: Which Song was Worse?”
I think they both won…somehow. They have songs they will be listened forever.
LOVE the editing in this one, you snapped x
The fact that Nicki Minaj was on both songs 🤣 (vmas and swish swish)
It’s so funny cause she literally was at the met with Katy and the vmas after party with Taylor this year lol
- Cuz, baby, now we have Bad Blood.
- And that we used to be mad love.
- Now, take a look what you've done.
- Cuz, baby, now we got Bad Blood! Hey!
Even though both songs are so bad, Swish Swish really takes the cake. In fact, the entire Witness era was really off putting.
Unpopular opinion but I hated the Bad Blood remix. I honestly loved the original version on 1989 😅
Swish swish is better than Bad Blood? Lmfao. I didn’t even know the beef before then and Iistened to Bad Blood and it was good. Then saw something about Katy and checked Swish Swish and it was meh not even mid.
Taylor >>>>> Katy
She composes her own music, c'mon
One is a solid artist and the other just a performer
Katy writes her music too
Taylor’s bad blood was a great MUSIC VIDEO & in response to her, there was the Swish swish video…. There is no competition in that… Taylor won that round easily!
It's 2022 I can't believe people still compare Katy to Taylor
Like c'mon we all know who's still relevant
Swish Swish is one of the most annoying, grating songs ever created.
I don't even like TS, but I'll give her the win by default
We all know that bad blood won before watching the video
id love to hear your take on how Katy could do a comeback
Taylor won. From awards to critically acclaimed albums to sales and longevity and tour and also creativity
That’s funny Bad Blood is one of the few Taylor songs I really liked 😂
The Swish Swish music video is one of the cringiest pieces of media I've ever seen. It's sooo bad. But I admittedly liked that song when it was out, but haven't returned to it at all since. Nicki's verse made the song IMO. I've just never been a fan of Katy, her voice sounds grating to my ears for some reason. I love Taylor though and I certainly respect both of them as artists. But Taylor "won" if we have to make a decision.
I think Taylor Swift won? I guess...? because Katy Perry literally sent Taylor an Olive Branch which means "Peace" ending the long time feud
GRAMMY Wins:
Taylor-12, Katy-ZERO!! 😂
Bad blood won VMA and grammy and was #1 on BB100
Even though it's Taylor's weakest song on 1989 it still wins
If we're talking about just the actual songs, Swish Swish definitely takes the crown. I still hear it often in clubs and dance parties whereas "Bad Blood" has been pretty much forgotten.
💀
☠️
Really? Cause I live in Texas and I hear bad blood a lot at like grocery stores/malls and high school parties. I’m definitely a Taylor fan so maybe it’s just that I notice it more but I had never even heard of swish swish till I became more knowledgeable in pop culture dramas like 2 years ago
@@northdakota1150 tf kind of party are you at playing bad blood💀
@@northdakota1150 Ah, maybe it depends on the area then. I still love Taylor, I just don’t hear Bad Blood at all anymore.
I think your view is biased. Don't worry by bad blood (taylor 's version) taylor is again get that crown
bad blood eats and i ain't even a taylor fan. i only listened to swish swish twice. that's it.
....aaaaaannd the winner is TIME's 2023 Person of the Year, who broke multple records in terms of awards, weeks of number one singles/albums, and became a billionaire (sans side hustle)...Eras Tour isn't over, Reputation Taylor's Version hasn't been released yet, pretty sure she's still on track to keep breaking all the records while being the youngest person to do so. Just saying. Also, this review of the conflict is the most lackluster thing I've seen RUclips in a hot minute. Again, just saying (and I'm not even a 'Swiftie').
you're the realest out here lol
I personally think that Bad Blood would've fit on reputation better. Like when sitting and listening to 1989 in it's entirely, Bad Blood just seems so, so out of place
I understand your opinion, but I also think Bad Blood is too immature and indirect to be on reputation (if you compare it to Look What You Made Me Do or This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things). Maybe if you switched up the instrumental and tweaked the lyrics a bit
Nothing beats, Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stefani and Pharrell
Excuse me but the title? Bad Blood obviously is superior. Taylor was that girl, and she still is. She wins.
Taylor has one supreme advantage: she’s written dozens of classics. Katy can’t match that.
Taylor's target audience is women, Katy Perry is much more universal. Guys will be much more likely to listen to Katy than Taylor.
The fact that honest released this on 1989's 8th anniversary lmao
Swish swish is one of the WORST songs in history
this will probably get lost in the comments but i wonder if honest listened to the 1989 version of bad blood as well as the remix. the remix is undoubtedly more popular because of the music video and the kendrick feature but, the verses in the OG 1989 version are much better and give so much more depth into what taylor was thinking/feeling than kendrick’s verses in the remix.
also loving the transitions and editing on this vid, honest!
Imagine Taylor dissing Kanye/Ye.
Imagine Taylor being better than Yb😂🤡
She doesn't need to lmao she already ended him

Taylor Swift is a Legend i think, we should compare her to legends (even tho i rrally like Katy)
Taylor's target audience is women, Katy Perry is much more universal. Guys will be much more likely to listen to Katy than Taylor.
@@rameeziqbal8711 im a guy and i listen to taylor ur point = 0
@@Ozt13 You are in tiny minority. Have you watched Taylor's concert? Her concerts are filled with girls.
@@rameeziqbal8711 ur point is not valid and the fact that ur trying to compare taylor who is the 1st artist everywhere rn with katy just because katy has more man fans is stupid pleasee😭🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
The video is talking about the two music videos. Bad Blood wins unbiased even if you hire the most professional of critics and analysts. 😴
Like literally Roar, Dark Horse, Shake It Off and Blank Space are still among the biggest songs ever. They're also among the most popular vids on youtube. So it's fascinating that they had this feud too.
The true is just that Tylor wanted to take down Katy and she used 3 dancers that actually prefer to work with Katy because they were her dancers first. I love Taylor but she takes shit out of proportion and make it big deal while taking always the victim side.
Take down? She never mention Katy when people asking about bad blood. Nobody will know it's about Katy if Katy shut her mouth.
I think Bad Blood is the better song. Swish Swish is okay, but we can all agree that the best part is Nicki's verse, and that video is a choice.
katy perry won. she had to humble herself and let herself know she isn’t always gonna be at top. she reached out to taylor and was the bigger person in this situation by sending an olive branch to taylor. katy has cemented herself as a pop titan. i mean she is one of the best selling artists of all time as well as having 3 diamond singles, 9 #1’s, and dark horse just reached 1B on spotify proving the longevity of her gigantic hits, she also earned $125M just from american idol the past couple years, she has the highest paid las vegas residency, her entire discography has over 1B streams each on spotify, she’s involved in philanthropy, her successful shoe line, etc…
Taylor definitely is still doing well and is relevant but she cannot come close to the success, fame and impact that Katy had in teenage dream era and even prism era. Love both of them tho.
1989 was that era, she was at an all time fame that few ever achieved and she was the it girl, she still is tbh
1989 outsold teenage dream tho even tho its close and fearless also outsold prism. katy just has stronger hits. but impact wise taylor is also very strong imo
The delusion 💀💀
1989 450 week on chart
Teenage dream 300 week even though it's 4 year old album 😂😂
Taylor obviously won here, but Katy mulch like Taylor has made her mark on pop music.
I loved the song "swish swish" when the audio came out but hated the video that came out later so much that I unconsciously stopped listening to it altogether and vice versa with Taylors. I hated "Bad Blood" because it's sooo boring and repetitive but the video was so powerful and well produced that I ended up watching it a lot despite not having the song anywhere near my playlist.
They’re both cat people, so my usual scientific method of picking sides has completely failed me
IMO, Bad Blood is an absolute A+ 🔥 banger. And Swish Swish is a terrible, terrible abomination of a song. The Witness era did Katy zero favors. Her aesthetic took a complete nosedive and her songs seemed to lose identity, as well. On the other hand, 1989 is a classic. Taylor is the clear winner in this duel.
The editing is becoming soooo much better that it has always been
And now Taylor is winning 🥇
Karma is her boyfriend, sorry Katy you can’t take her new man
But where's the squad now...
Irrelevant and Taylor at the top as usual, as she should
@@hunniii2356 agree
The tittle almost feelks like there's doubt about who "won" when it is clear that Taylor ended up succeding in the end (even though it was also clear that she was the one in wrong. But good doesn't always win)
i feel like Swish Swish is the better diss song because it was more direct, but I think Bad Blood (solo version, not a fan of the Kendrick version) is genuinely a great song because it could apply to literally anything
The original version is TRASH
It's the worst song of the album
Katy Perry from 2008-2013 was the biggest thing in music
