As an Australian 🇦🇺 you may remember a few years back our entire country was pretty much ablaze and blanketed a lot of the northern hemisphere with smoke etc. you and your fellow citizens have our love 🥰and support and can relate with what your going through. We had neighbours and friends losing homes during this time and I was in extreme danger zone with a few calls to evacuate and when you have elderly parents and pets etc it makes the move harder. It's a privilege to have internet and access to basic amenities. Running water is a blessing. We have hardly any reporting on this matter where I live. I knew word of mouth that this was going on but your video is the first I've seen with actual footage. I hope the fires are somewhat contained or working towards that. I saw a forest fire, we were protected from it by a river, which the fire could not cross. It was impossible to breathe because of the smoke, my eyes were always in tears. It's horrible. I can't imagine what you experienced there, because the river didn't protect you and the fire could penetrate into your houses. I'm really sorry that this happened to you. Good to know you managed to survive and that seems like the worst has already happened, with this said i hope that this becomes the warning the government needs to start dealing with the over growth in forests so that it doesn't happen again in the future, in general the iberic and Mediterranean forests are designed to burn to keep themselves in check, in other countries this simply doesn't happen because one of the job of forest patrols is to take care of the over growth between trees so that this exact situation doesn't happen, or that if a fire occurs doesn't spread as fast and is more easily contained. This is also an issue in Spain, where doing literally anything good for everyone like fire prevention like dealing with the overgrowth and other tasks related is done only around big cities and that's it, the rest of towns or villages can go F themselves.
A few months ago my in laws house almost burned down while we were staying with them in Chile. Most of their property burned down, but the house survived. It's was VERY scary. Shit gets real very fast. The worst part is that fires easily start up again as the ground can often smolder with embers for days or even more in some circumstances. The uncertainty is horrible. I'm glad everything is ok. You got lucky.
I live in South Africa and we had a MASSIVE bush fire. A whole town burned down. I live next to a game reserve and the fire plume was like 10 metres away from the property wall. There were at least 30 people fighting the fire and the winds were gale force. We survived and our house is fine. I am very glad you guys are okay! Fires are terrifying. Aqui no Brasil não ta diferente não, particularmente aqui em Manaus - Amazonas acorda com a cidade coberta de fumaça já virou rotina a pelo menos 1 ano e meio, e pra variar o governo fica inventado culpados "subjetivos" pelo seu fracasso e evitar as queimadas, a ultima desculpa que a mídia pró governo deu foi botar a culpa em passaros por espalharem o fogo, ler o noticiario sobre isso parece um stand up. espero que todos saiam seguro dessa situação e com seus bens protegidos

Greece was burning down this summer as well, with the fire almost reaching the capital city. Fires are getting out of hand here. We have huge fires every year nowadays. I really hope this doesnt happen again to you guys and congrats to you and your family for helping this much. You're legends.
