Just about to ask that! I'm not really into optics, but it is almost worth the wait given that it increases the resale value. Though I don't think I'll be selling this one once I get it. LOL
@Flea Tactical They are also releasing a compact version with and without an optics cut when they put the full-sized optics-ready version out. The people at Arex USA are incredibly nice and will answer any questions you have.

You can still get the Zero 1 Compact, which I snagged right when it was released, for around $525-$550. The only P229 that I know of. This just looks amazing, and I can't wait for the range testing! I know for a fact that this bad boy needs a healthy diet of 124 gr NATO to loosen things yup. Classic Arex 😁
@Kratos_God_of_50_BMG wish I had more of it. I'm having a hard time waiting for the optics ready compact version to come out but I think it'll be worth the wait.
This gun's safety is a masterpiece, The gun can be carried cocked and locked or hammer down and locked. Also the gub has a decocker that does not engage the safety (like the beretta safety/decocker's decocker)
I've often called guns like that "Tweeners". Not really full sized, but not exactly compact. Not too big to carry, but much larger than the sub offerings. Does everything well enough, and isn't really bad at any of them. If you could only have just one gun, the Tweener is a solid consideration. This one looks to be particularly well-made. Thanks GB!
Excellent video, thanks again for sharing this information. Another quality pistol we will be purchasing. Looks like cobblestone pattern to me 😁. God bless 🙏😇👌
This is my next purchase. And thank you for such an in-depth review. Bill Arex for a sales commission because you are absolutely selling this one with the level of detail you provide! LOL
I'm considering getting one of these. But considering how expensive and difficult to get pistols are in Australia I might wait until a tactical version comes out.
I've described the Zero 1 as a product improved Hi Power, and this is further refinement of the idea. The slide design captures more of the Delta feeling, moving from the flat tombstone of the Zero 1. You remark on the trigger in both this table review and the range impressions. I run an Armory Craft flat adjustable trigger in my Zero 1 CP. The difference is night and day. I'd need to pull a Zero 2S apart, but I suspect it would fit in the new pistol. It has been a great upgrade to one of my favorite shooters.
I'm glad that you check for chamber support of the case-head, although the 9 x 19mm has the strongest case-head of the common auto-pistol cartridges. A far bigger deal with .40 S&W, 10mm and .45 ACP +P. I'm also glad that you refer to the 124 gr. Nosler JHP load as "Match" even though it is not. And neither is it a very good choice for defense in any other sense than it is an accurate bullet. I've handloaded and tested this bullet a good bit above the velocity that NOSLER loads too. And I can tell you that at even 1250 FPS the bullet does NOT expand reliably. Guys that handload it for .357 SIG get better results, but it's a poor choice for defense in 9 x 19mm.
Only know this because I just looked it up. Didn’t know that CIP is also a commission with only 14 member countries. Austria, Belgium, Chile, Czech Rep., Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, UAE, UK. Slovenia not a member. That said, if Arex sells the Rex Zero in any of those 14 countries, it must pass inspection at a proof house.
Their 1st version was tested at 135% of SAAMI standards so unless they lowered their construction, it shouldn't be a concern for most +P or +P+ ammo. Besides, +P and +P+ is often marketing and not truly hot ammo anyway
It is actually very different. The slide release works as decocker while in TH9C the safety acts as decocker. Also, TH9C is not as well built as Zero 1 or Zero 2. The difference in feel is similar to holding a G3C vs. holding a Hellcat. I love Taurus and all their products I got to try but you can tell the difference in feel compared to a product made by a very quality focused company.
I hope they make a subcompact! I would like to know how it fairs against the bersa tpr9. I think they've both got a sig vibe but I personally didnt like the trigger feel of the original thunder 9. This trigger looks smoother. Hope Bersa improved theirs with the tpr9 and come out with optic ready models!
i know the gen 1 was plus p rated, i would imagine that the gen 2 is as well. i like the fact that it holds one more round than the first gen. i love the grips on it. too bad they wont work on my zero one. looking forward to the shooting impressions.
I played next to Anthony Munoz and he was the best ever. Before each game he would eat a big plate of refried beans and then shit on himself. His steaming logs would keep the defenders away and made him slippery.
They switched importers? Not many of these out there yet. Waiting for some info on the compact optic ready version . I know you will be on top of that tho 👍👍
I like my Zero1 but I have to break grip to reach the mag release. My hands aren't what you'd call small. I hope they narrowed that grip down a tad on this one.
What would be the best place to order from to get extra magazines for it do you have a website that would be great to know cuz I'm going to put one of these in my hands. Love your reviews always could you do something about a review on live free armory and some of their pistols or one of their pistols I think it's the AMF that would be cool
Does this accept Sig P226 magazines? I have a lot of them left over from when I traded my Sig MK25. I'd buy this gun just to recoup my investment in P226 magazines.
I really like this gun. Looks like a very good p226 like option. How does it compare to the Bersa TP9 (I think that is it's designation)? Any thoughts on that are appreciated. Well done.
