@@kasidys6440 yes I have pink yarn and I need to use it
Can u plis tell how much gram is needed to make the same size of this
@@padiktagi5621 each ball of yarn is 100g
how long is the meters of 1 ball of yarn?
Soooo I made it☺️
Yarn: 2 1/4 x Acryl yarn white (100g~310m), 1 1/2 x Acryl yarn black (100g~310m)
Hook: 3,0 mm
Ignore that the hours are blue( these are not time stamps)
First base part: hour 13:34
Second base part: hour 26:55
Whole back finished: hour 31:56
Whole front finished: hour 35:30
All the additional white parts and sewing finished : hour 49:32
Days that it took me: around 10 days
Advices that I would give:
-Count the crotchets/stitches !!!
-Watch the video a bit further then you think you have to. ( Maybe it says that you should start in the middle🤦🏻♀️)
- Always pull the yarn of the color you take with you during the pattern
-Try to make the base parts the same size.(My second one got smaller, because I accidentally made the crotchets tighter.)
How it turned out:
Quite well for someone who did crochet clothes for the first time ever. It is a bit to oversized for me ( I went with the numbers of the video), but I normally have XS-S so I hope that it is getting smaller when time goes by.
@SHWETA A/P SHANKER Moe I think it were 350- 375 gramm in total. I am not sure what a ply is, but according to my research it should be a three-ply yarn.
@@smaradia4889 for each colour?
@Jess Toh
No, I needed a bit more then >200gramm white yarn and >100gramm black yarn
do you know the name of the stitch used? :)
@@sofi_4444_ as far as i know they are called houndstooth stitches.
hey!!! this is such a great tutorial, thank you, I would definitely recommend adding mesurments not just stitch counts tho ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much , I've seen that many people ask for it, so I think you're right. I'll try to do it for the next tutorials ☺️❤️
@@carla.bycarla u could always add them to the description of this video!
@@craftymedhaa i will ☺️
Great tutorial. Very detailed and the subtitles explain what is happening at every step. The only improvement I would make is to use a different background colour to the yarn. When you start with white yarn against a white background it is difficult to see what you are doing. That withstanding I will be attempting this vest - it looks stunning when finished ❤️👍😁
Good idea ! I will try this in my new video so it will be more clear ☺️ thanks you so much for your comment and your advice ❤️
Hello! If you're interested, I've transcribed this pattern into a written format, which is admittedly quite long but I'm happy to send you.
Edit: the pattern is posted in the reply thread to this comment

> legenda
carr = carreira
c = correntinha
pb = ponto baixo
pa = ponto alto
> base [0:37]
*1ª carr:* nó e 20 c,
*2ª carr:* 1 pb em cada c (você vai ficar com 19 pb)
*3ª carr em diante:* faça 1 c, vire o trabalho e faça 1 pb em cada c, mas pegando somente o fio de trás;
> costas [8:20]
antes de começar:
• mantenha os fios da base à direita
• pegue o _fio branco_ e faça um nó, iniciando o trabalho no 6º ponto (você deve pular 5 pontos)
*1ª carr (branca):* 1 2pbj, [...] quando faltarem 7 pontos para acabar a carr, 1 2pbj, insira o _fio preto_ antes de finalizar o ponto (devem sobrar 5 pontos na carr de baixo). 1c, vire o trabalho
*2ª carr (preta):* 1 2pbj, [...] quando faltarem 2 pontos para acabar a carr, 1 2pbj. 1c, vire o trabalho
> frente [13:30]
antes de começar:
• mantenha os fios da base à direita
• marque a metade do trabalho
• pegue o _fio branco_ e faça um nó, iniciando o trabalho no 6º ponto (você deve pular 5 pontos)
*1ª carr (branca):* 1 2pbj, [...] quando faltarem 2 pontos para o meio da carr, 1 2pbj e insira o _fio preto_ antes de finalizar o ponto. 1c, vire o trabalho.
*2ª carr (preta):* 1 2pbj, [...] quando faltarem 2 pontos para acabar a carr, 1 2pbj. 1c, vire o trabalho
*8ª carr:* 1 2pbj, [...], 1c, vire o trabalho
*9ª carr:* [...], 1c, vire o trabalho
*10ª carr:* 1 2pbj, [...], 1c, vire o trabalho
*11ª carr:* [...] quando faltarem 2 pontos para o fim da carr, 1 2pbj, 1c, vire o trabalho.
→ repita o padrão das carr 10 e 11 até à 17ª carr
*18ª carr:* [...], 1c, vire o trabalho
> juntando as partes [26:45]

This tutorial is really cool, thank you so much !!
I’m only on row 3 of the actual vest (finished the rib, btw I didn’t know a rib was so simple to make, I’m so happy) but I just ran out of white wool, can’t wait to buy more!!
I swear when I was doing the first black row and the houndstooth pattern appeared I SCREAMED, I thought it was going to be so much harder to make or that I’d mess it up but you made it so easy and clear 😭😭
Thank you for this tutorial! ❤ I’m working on my vest now, and I started with a chain of 71 stitches and it’s about 20 inches wide! I’m using a 4.00 mm hook and worsted weight yarn 😊
I’m usually a size small, and I think mine will end up a bit oversized and fit more like a medium/large
How do you get so clean edges mine are like ⬆️⬇️⤴️↕️↩⬆️➡️↪🔁⬅️
you have to crochet into every last stitch that can sometimes may not be visable.
@FluffyHeartsGacha Try placing a stitch marker at the start and end of the row :) this really helped me when I was struggling with keeping my edges straight.
This is what I'm choosing for my first crochetted piece of clothing. So far so good 🤩
Started making it and because i didn't watch the video all the way through i made a lot of mistakes that I'm currantly fixing... I made the first part and initially thought u were meant to make it fit around ur body, didn't think i'd have to make two. So im following like two tutorial now to fix it. But i think it'll turn out cute
English is not my mother tongue too so I find it difficult to understand other videos, but this is super easy. thank you😊❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much , as a French girl sometimes videos in English are not easy to understand but I’m glad you understand mine ❤️🥰
I'm so in love with this pattern, I've already made three vests 🤩
Dont mind this comment im just bookmarking so i can watch other videos while i crochet

don’t mind me just adding a time stamp so i can watch other videos while crocheting

Thank you Carla, I have been searching for a crochet houndstooth design and this one is the best by far. And don't worry - this tutorial was very clear and easy to follow and fun to watch, too. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for doing this video I have been looking for a really nice crochet sweater to make for so long now and this has turned out perfect. This video has been very easy to follow and I like that you’ve put written instructions rather than talking and it’s not rushed. Looking forward to watching your other videos
Thank you so much! I finally finished it, if anyone has any questions let me know, I'll be glad to help. Also I did a mattress stitch for connecting the ribbing with the body and it's honestly invisible!
Hey...how do i adjust mine to a size L...like how many extra stitches must i add for each step?...im kind of a begginer..so i dont know how to adjust.
@@smithabhat1942 im a beginner too so im not sure...but i think you shoul just hold it against your body as you go along and add more stitches or chains if needed
you could use thicker yarn or use a different sized hook
how many rows did you end up with for your arm and neck ribbing?
@@smithabhat1942 I'm veryyyyy late and you'd probably know by now lol but you can make the ribbing longer MAKE SURE THE ROW COUNT IS ODD andthe rest should be okay but if the sleeve hoes are too small I suggest doing more of the decrease rows at the end of the row 10:07 for the back panel and for the front panel do the same amount of decrease rows for the sleeve and to make the v neck bigger do more of the decrease rows where you decrease in the middle
It's perfect ❤️ Bravo from Greece
Thanks 🥰
Thank you for this great tutorial, I just made this vest to give as Christmas present to my son. 🌷😊
The pattern is great I really liked it and while I wish there was audio sometimes watching the video and reading the instructions worked Just fine. I do think this is meant to be oversized for smaller people so keep that in mind I’m someone who wears smalls and mediums and this fits me big so if you want you can probably cut the size down but still staying on the odd number scale to keep it the same count. still really cute though if you know how to style it.
i can´t believe this, i saw this swteer and i have the yarn to make it SO I NEED IT TO MAKE IT and i found your video. I´m so happy, english is my second language so don´t worry about it
You need to make it and don’t forget to send a picture when you finish it because I want to see it so bad 💗
Respect for your first video, you did well.
A houndstooth skirt and matching sweater would be REALLY NICE!!!
It’s on my list ! ☺️
Thank you so mucho for tris tutorial! Ive been trying to find a sweater vest crochet tutorial for so long!
updates mainly for me, editing when i've finished the parts!

started main part : 5:48pm on 27th june
finished main part : 2:35pm on the 14th of july
FYI i took a long break in between and started again yesterday, so it basically took about 6 hours to complete it

@@elyaramehmedova2507 yeah! i havent finished yet its in my wip projects lol, but how long roughly did it take you for the ribbing?
@@elyaramehmedova2507 thats great! im 12 lol, i started when i was 6, but it takes a lot of practice to do tiny hooks, and im really glad it came out good! :D
I FINALLY FINISHED THIS AAAAAA!!!!

@@daisyononye1825 im not lol i stayed up all night since i dont have a life :)
What size was it??
tysm for this tutorial! i thought this would fit me but it didn't, sadly. the first panel was able to wrap around my torso (i honestly should have noticed then). but i made edits and now it fits!
Omg you'r so amazing and i loved the tutorial! Thank you
For other beginners:
This is my first time ever crocheting and i have to say I underestimated how much work this is.
I had to do 3 bases because my first attempt was unusable because of the mistakes i did.
i am at 13:12.
So for everyone who is afraid to start do it .
and to the Creator AMAZING VIDEO i love how u show us how to do it and the subtitles .✪ ω ✪
My next project is going to be either your burberry inspired bag or the blue shoulder bag.
How long do you work on each of your projects.
i will try to keep you guys updated.
Thank you so much for your comment , I’ve actually made this tutorial as my first project in crochet haha and it will always be my favorite. It really depends how much time do I work on each projects but most of the time it’s 1 day , I try to find the perfect idea and don’t give up till it’s finished so I spend my entire day making it. But for this one I took a week I think ☺️ Hope you will continue your journey of crocheting and find a lot of love doing it , love u 💗
Finally im almost done , it took me several month to do this 😖 because im busy with online class and i also procastinate a lot lol . Since my size is a lot bigger than yours , the amount of rows and stiches are not the same but this tutorial is very easy to follow and understand 😁😚 Im a beginner and i made a lot of mistake, i need to open my stiches back so many time because mine look weird 😭😭 btw thank you for the tutorial 🥰🥰 it helps me a lot
Thank you so much for your comment , I hope you will like your sweater vest ☺️💗
@@cassandragonzales5479 do you mean how many rows i made for my base ?
@@_sfyyahrhmn5237 what I meant was how many cm was the base
@@cassandragonzales5479 hi sorry for the late reply , my sweater vest base is 20 cm long (for 1 base)

Ficou muito lindo vou tentar fazer 😍 🇧🇷
Heya! So this is my first time crocheting other then amigurumi. I have a lot of schoolwork to do so I know this is going to take a long time so ima be tracking my progress:
Feb 8th 2022: Started the project
Feb 11th 2022: Finished the 1st ribbing
Feb 20th 2022: Finished 1st base
Feb 21st 2022: Finished 2nd ribbing
Mar 6th 2022: Finished 2nd base
Apr 18th 2022: Finished crocheting and sewing both arm ribbings
I made this one really good pattern BUT it seems to be more of size medium/large? Or no? Haha abit too big for me. Would have been good to see it fitting onto someone in the video then one could more easily adjust the number of stitches. Thank you for sharing this pattern and very well filmed:)
Funny cause I have a felling mine is gonna be more like a xs😅 (im a S) Maybe I will change to a 5mm hook.
yeah it might've been different depending on your hook or yarn size, and maybe tension 😋
Hey thanks for your sharing. I’ve done my first vest by following your video. ❤️
(Just a little suggestion, when you knitting white yarns, it will be better not using white background.it could be confusing.)
thank you for the tutorial🥺 it's similar with my idol's vest, i'm so excited to try it >
Great idea, clear visual instructions
I want to do this!!! How much yarn would I need if I would do this in size M or L and a little bit longer ?
Ps: love it😍😍😍
I am finished making it ..it came great out for a beginner like me but i undo everything because back was bigger and front was smaller..i thought I count all the stitches but i guess I was not hehe ... thanks For the tuturiol❤️
How many balls of yarn do i actually need sorry am a bit confused anyone??
Amazing Tutorial!! I hope you keep up this amazing work of yoursss ❤️❤️🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🥳
not me taking a whole month to follow the first 10 minutes of the tutorial 😭
updates (mostly for me):
3-day-later update!! I finished the back 😭
5-day later update!! finished the front 🙏🙏
7-day later update... had to unravel and do some minor changes to the armpit area as it was too tight for me but now I have sewn my pieces together and I'm doing the finished details 😁😁😁
9-day later update... it turned out so ugly lmaooo ill unravel it and try to fix it 🥺😭 mostly its the way it fits me 😭😭😭😭
Omg I feel so bad for u😭😭I hope it turns out better in the second attempt👍
@@saadiafaraz6299 thank you ill give it another chance maybe when fall is closer 😁
LMAOOO SORRY FOR LAUGHING SO HARD BCS THIS WILL BE ME WHEN I TRIED TO DO SOMETHING NEW. anyways hope u having a lot of good luckkk on the second attempt!
Practice makes perfect! Never give up
maybe change the colors?
I love this tutorial! You did great Carla 💜
Hi, was wondering about something regarding adjusting size. If i were to adjust to a s, not so oversize, would taking 10 rows out be too much/enough?
Thanks for the guide! It's super helpful
Beautiful vest you have made!!! I have been looking for a video that shows how to crochet this exact vest, so thank you so much!!!!
Thank you so much, I love it!! I have tried making it for myself, but it turned out too tide. May I ask you your measurements in centimeters for the vest? That way I can try again, but with the measurements of myself and probably find a solution for my problem that it fits too small :)
Hi ! Sure , can you send me a dm so I will send you the pics ☺️
Me too please
@@carla.bycarla hiii kindly send them here too please thank youu !!
Is this 2 pieces, back and front, and both with 81 stitches? Can I make 71 stitches each because 81 is huge???
i am making this and i so far love it! i started a wile ago and then i never finished and today i decided to pick it up and finish it, i have almost finished it and i am so so so so happy with it! thanks
Why you stuttering so so so

I made this and it turs out soooooo cute thnk u very much for this wonderful tutorial
Hello!😊 I would like to asked How many yarns did you used in order to make this vest?? This vest is so cute
It's a wonderful pattern and so easy to make because of your explanation. thanks you
How long did this take you!! I love how it turned out
Thank you ! Now that I know how to make it around 5 days maybe
this is so lovely!!
I would love to make this. But, I really don't know what kind of acrylic yarn to buy? So that I can make it already. Thank you so much for making this tutorial I hope you'll answer my question☺
I don’t really have a specific brand because I buy mine in a little store in my town but it’s for a size 4/5mm hook ☺️
It’s a little late lol but I prefer dead heart super saver yarn. Big twist is another delightful brand. Red heart seems to have more yarn for cheaper, but big twist has a much larger selection when it comes to colors. If you live in the usa JoAnns is always a good place to look!
It looks so beautiful, I’ll definitely try!!! 🌸💕
Hi thank you for this lovely tutorial! Mine is just looking like stripes, not houndstooth pattern. What could I be doing wrong?
Sounds like maybe you are chaining dc on dc and sc on sc. the row above should alternate the row below so you get the houndstooth pattern. Hope that helps ☺️
You did a great job, thanks Carla 🙏🏼😍
Heey, first of all i gotta say for your first time doing this this is a pretty good tutorial and i love it so far. Anyways can I ask you how many cm`s you have after doing the 81 rows in the beginning?
Thank you so much ! It changes after you start the black and white part because it’s extensible but it’s around 50cm ☺️
SOO BEAUTIFULL,LOVE IT💙❤
Hiya!! I’ve been plugging away at this for weeks trying to make sure I make it to the best of my ability as a newbie. Thank you for the tutorial!! Quick question - for sewing the pieces together, did you do a single crochet or any particular technique?
i have the same question what did you do pls ?
I'm watching from Egypt . I love this vedio bravo it's perfect .I'm going to do this💓
Just one tip, 81 sc across/wide might be too wide for some.
Could you do any odd number to make it smaller or bigger?
@@keke835 Probably, yes, but remember that you would have to adjust the width of the shoulder areas. There will be less or more stitches across, so once halved, if you follow the pattern the shoulder pieces will be much shorter or longer. You may have to add no-decrease rows or make extra decreases in each row.
@@grassweird9232 thank you so much 💖
OMG I love your video from korea!!
I'll make that fabulous vest!❤❤
It might be awkward because I use a translator.k.a. translator.
I am concerned about the length of the knit vest. (Length and width)
Thank you so much! I loved it! And it was very clear!
I'm using a 4.5 mm hook and its looking pretty big... the first body part for me is about 26 inches (or 66 cm). was yours also this big or do I have to use a smaller crochet hook?
For me, with a 4.mm hook it’s more little like it’s 50 cm from left to right so maybe use a smaller hook
i loved this! if you don’t mind, could you upload more different content as it’s very helpful
hey babe! this was an awesome tutorial and I'm making it right now! I was wondering how many grams of yarn in total did you use? Thanks so much
Hi ! Every ball of yarn is 100g so around 600/700g :)
And it is written 100g = around 238 meters , I hope this could help you ☺️
GREAT tutorial!!! 😍💝(I think the best I've ever seen) Thank you Carla!! xx
Thank you so much 🥺💗
Hello, I wanted to ask you at minute 19:20, you say there is no decrease in row 9 but you don't actually do it in row 10, I am very confused.
It would help me a lot if you answered me.
I am having the same problem and am super confused. Did you ever figure it out?
The no decrease is on row 10, try to follow by color is easier that way
J’ai reconnu la laine de action 😂
Merci pour le tuto !! ❤️
How many yanrs you used ???
5 white yarn and 2 black ones
My friend wanted this as her bday present, I am still a beginner but I hope I'll be able to make this through this tutorial 😬
If you need any help you can send me a dm I will help you the best I can ☺️
@@carla.bycarla Thank you🥰
I forgot to ask can i used milk cotton yarn or it is much better to used acrylic one?
Hi so I’m using a thicker yarn/crochet needle so it looking rlly oversized. I need to start over. What are the measurements of the panels for each row and height? Thanks!
Or any suggestions so maybe I don’t have to start over?
its almost 2.2 mm for the crochet and for the yarn take the normal size not enough thicker
