Two years ago I watched your chunky cardigan video and started crocheting because of it. Two years ago I moved from my childhood house into a new city, I was still in 10th grade. Now I'm a senior in high-school and will be graduating in two moths. So much had happened in the past two years, so many bad and good things, so many big scary decisions. And now, here I am going back to what made me start crocheting, finally making my own chunky cardigan following your tutorial. And it just might be my last crochet project in my home country before I migrate and my life changes drastically. Forever. It will be hard to finish it, it will be hard to wear it. It will hold so many emotions and memories of friends and loved ones that I have to let go of and move on with my life. Nonetheless I'm eager to finish it and wear my own hand made garment :3
Just finished my second one, absolutely love this pattern, will definitely be a pattern I turn to for many years to come. Thank you again for taking the time to create this tutorial for everyone to use to create a wonderful houndstooth pattern vest
I keep watching the beginning of this video! Ribbing just like knitting! Mind blowing 💗 I love doing the crochet but looks like knitted because knitting is much more difficult for me!
Lmao “lazy b****es got to stick together when together, am I right?” 😂 love it! I’m still a crochet newbie in my eyes and I’m currently making my first clothing item, it’s taking forever, ty adhd, but definitely going to get some yarn and make this, it’s so cute! I’d love love o learn how to off the cuff make clothes, or recreate ones I’ve seen like you’ve done with this one. Thank you for sharing this with us ❤️
@@kirrilalia my problem is I want to crochet everything so have lots of started projects instead of completed projects lol I don’t remember what some of them are 🙊🤣🤣
@@kirrilalia jumper done but I may or may not have 5 projects on the go, 2 is this sweater vest in 2 different shades. I’ve the bottom parts done, super excited to start on the top part 🥰🥰🥰 thank you so much for such an amazing tutorial ❤️❤️
3:08, you really called a lot of people out there hun. I choose to make my clothing though, so I don't fall into that category. I make my clothes because I get to style it in the way I want for way cheaper than going out and buying one for double the price. :)
hi there! i have a suggestion: instead of carrying the yarn, you could float it, which is basically carrying it but leave 3-4 stitches in between them. i make tapistry crochet and that is going to give a much more cleaner look!
Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial, really ❤❤❤ I made my first ever crochet vest and i'm happy how it turned out. Still can't believe i could make a crochet vest😂
What size is this tutorial for? Also what is the yardage needed for the project? Balls of yarn are all different yardages these days. Thanks in advance for any responses.
Hello! I absolutely love this! Do you think it is possible for me to use one of your pattern and sell the finished product? (WITH CREDITS OF COURSE!!) :D TYSM
If you don't mind sharing, what size did you base your pattern off of? I'm trying to figure out how big I should make mine and I have about the same build as you.
can I follow the pattern using a 5mm hook to create something which is well fitting instead of oversized? I've never made a clothing item before so I'm a bit worried, thanks! the tutorial seems really detailed and easy to follow
On the back piece.Did you measure 8 in on backside, from the start of the 1st decrease row? Or from the start of the regular rows, after the last decrease row? I hope this makes sense.
Hi! I’m a big fan and I really want to start crochetting but I don’t know where to start, can you give me some tips or techniques that I can learn? Or some things I can do Tysm!
I'd start by going to a local yarn/craft store near you, usually they have beginner classes for pretty inexpensive. The store near me had a class, they provided everything, and it was only $10 for an hour. They teach you the basics (chaining, single crochet, half double crochet, etc) and then you can work from there. I'd also not start using patterns (bc those are confusing sometimes) but rather start off basic with youtube videos and make square-based projects (patchwork cardigan, scarf, coasters, even legwarmers are super easy!) Best of luck to you!!!
To anybody who has made this, how much yarn did you use (either yardage or weight) She says 4 total skeins in the video but doesnt mention weight or yardage of the skeins😢 Since I’m ordering the yarn online i would like to order the right amount haha
She says in the description size 4 yarn in colours tan and off white 2balls of tan and 2 balls of tan. I'd recommend checking the description for more details
You can size up yarn and the hook size but the look won't be the same. If you want to adjust the pattern add more ribbing rows (to make it wider) but make th total amount of rows and even number so the stitch count is even. Then for making your two panels ( 6:13 ) add more rows so that it goes up to the place where you want to add the v neck and sleeves (this will make the vest longer) then make the v neck and sleeves by following the pattern (bear in mind your stitch count won't be the same as hers) HOPE THIS HELPS AND IS CLEAR IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS JUST ASK. I DON'T RECOMMEND MODIFYING PATTERNS IF YOUR A BEGINNER BC YOU MIGHT GET LOST. you'll definitely need more yarn so get a bunch more to have on hand eg if your making it double the size in the pattern you'll need double the amount of yarn I can't tell you how much bc I don't know your grandma's measurements
I think it was 200g per colour bc She says in the description size 4 yarn in colours tan and off white 2balls of tan and 2 balls of tan. And considering th size of the best I think it's 2 balls of 100g

Can i creat this in one color 😢?
Love u 😘
yes you can!
How many grams of 1 color did you use? Would help me a lot☺️
Please what measurement are required for this for a guy??
4skeins of both or each🥲?and how many rows of the rip stitch
2 skeins of each and four skeins in total it's listed in description box
Girl we missed you and I'm a girl but I hope u had a good life
Sorry I couldn’t hear you said 58 or 50ish stitches from the ribbons?
And when I turn and start with a dc, do I have to chain 2 or still just one?
I've done this stitch before it's also known as the moss stitch and you chain two when you start with a dc :)
What are the color of yarn?
how long is the whole vest?
Wow omg l liket 🤗🤭❤
Can I ask how do you size up? It's for my grandma so I need a bigger size
