Might take a few tries to get the length correct but you can also put an extender between the O2 sensor and exhaust pipe and on some cars if you have a 420 but no 430 then u can jump the signal from the good bank to the bad so the ecu reads the good
Because of the way the modern ecu monitors the function of the catalyst, this will not work on newer cars. The ecu is constantly switching between rich and lean which, when graphed, looks like a high frequency sine wave. The catalyst slows down the frequency of the sine wave. This may work on old cars with slow ecus but modern cars will see the difference and you'll get an inefficiency code or a slow response code.

Take out the rear oxygen sensor and add a spark plug extender for $15. Worked for me. I'm thinking the converter only has to be plugged by 5% for the light to come on

Yes, that works on a Prius, however in California, they may ask you to get a smog test at a Star station, where they may use a mirror to visually inspect the rear oxygen sensor. They will fail the smog test if they see this 1/2 inch pipe extension on the rear O2 sensor. I didn't know someone inserted this, and my 2008 Prius recently failed because of this modification.

The same thing applies to the 'swirl flaps' on the Mercedes W221 V6 diesel, when you get an error code shows for these due to sticking flaps it is a very expensive repair (they are operated by a motor just in front of the turbo).

I have a question that would you like to say that, is there any chance that it damage the ECU.
Second question is that can we use the same formula in Toyota Hybrid Aqua or Prius.
If you disconnect the battery negative before doing this mod, you won't hurt anything.
keep your toyota stock it will work better and get better fuel economy. also note how many asian and Indian cities have filthy air these BS mods make polution and health problems worse . also quit smoking,

I think you would be better installing a 2 Meg adjustable pot you may have to start half a Meg resistor and a 1 meg pot that way you don't send too much juice to the current to the ECU. Something to think about

@pauljanssen7594 you are correct, the 1 megaohm resistor may work for a removed cat but a bad cat can still be working a little bit so it's best to start with something like a 220k(.220meg) or 470k resistor and check the live data voltage to see how it has changed from the initial reading and then adjust up or down to try to achieve a 5v nominal reading. you really have to have a scanner with live data to make this work.

did this on s4 b7, Sensor 1 reads 1.2, Sensor 2 reads 0.9, apparently its richer down the pipe :D car works excellent then in limp mode when i push too hard
try this...fix your car the right way..not the paki's way..short cut never work well and in the long turm will hurt your engine

Yes true can bus protocol Will know a continuous feed Back getting from sensor nerve .
I got an urgent question regarding how to connect the wire so the voltage won't change. I cutter new Oxygen Sensor wire because the connector was on top of the car to make it easy. Now my check engine light on. Do the voltage or transmission of electric change if you connect the two wire together since the wire function to pass the voltage. Thanks.
Take out downstream sensor then screw in a sparkplug nonfouler replace sensor.
Doesn’t work on all cars. I tried still get code after a while. Even tried to keep sensor out of cat(reading straight air) code comes back
@@seananderson4746 if it is new enough it wont work. Also if it is a Chrysler product it could be the upstream sensors that are bad.
Then when the emissions tech sees this mod the car is a automatic fail.

Not a good idea computer dont get any idea about feedback of air fuel ratio and this would be cause for series of other faults and you will get more trouble codes long term.
@@mycarmypetrol8692 Thats what i thought ....because the computer relying on the o2 sensor to supply how much fuel needed for the combustions...without guide the computer might go crazy
It should not change the fuel trim. This is the down stream O2 sensor. It only checks the cat. The upstream sensor is for fuel trim. I bypassed one on my 1999 Caravan, it ran flawlessly and I was not going to buy a cat for a car with 320K miles. Great info Sir!

Could tell me same process for Mazda CX-5 oxygen sensor please? I'm guessing 2 wire from heater should have resistance of 3-5 ohm. So other 2 wire should positive and negative? By the way those who commented this will hurt fuel efficiency , lemme tell you guys downstream oxygen sensor doesn't control anything and ecu use it to keep an eye on catalytic converter but nothing else. Thank you for your video.
The pcm uses both upstream and downstream for fuel trims. It will literally stop trimming fuel and go to a default setting

Hello, I need help since I did it on a Fiat engine but the output voltage oscillates between 0.2v and 0.3v when it should oscillate between 0.6v-0.8v
use a 1m ohm resistor and a 4.7uf 50v capacitor
