This was written by the great Marty Robbins. He got a Grammy for it. Wonderfully sung by the outstanding Dean Martin. A song for anyone who has lost a wife like me. Dean was a man of integrity, a character the like of which is difficult to find today and a great talent.

I met a couple some years ago who saw The Rat Pack at the Sands. Dino came our into the audience and kissed the wife on yhe cheek. She said she didn't wash it for three months. Her husband said that was all she talked about and she was impossible to live with.
Only Dino could do that to someone.

A little humor is never out of place in entertainment, but, this is what Dean needed to do far more often. Finally, Dean sings a song from the first bar to the last, without any schtick or comic interruption whether it was Frank's, Sammy's, Jerry's from the sideline or most often his own! The man needed to get out of his own way and do exactly what we all know he did in the recording studio, just let his own natural instrument, and talent flow through the lyrics.
