Underground still exist. Very rare but exists. Most Death Metal bands play to be famous and get money. Even Grindcore bands. You can tell by the price of their merch which is ridiculous and by the venues/ticket price at their gigs. Even pricey digital downloads on Bandcamp,... It's nothing new, it has always been like that. There's still plenty of underground bands though. F*ck corporate grind
Speaking of pricey digital downloads, there was this Mexican DM band who was charging 10 bucks for their album on their BC page, yet on the labels BC page they were only asking 5. Obviously the band holds their album in higher regard then their label does. I went with the labels BC page and got it for 5.
