Glad you will return to Baja. It is much different than other state in Mexico. I would definietely return to see the whales. There are 3 places you may see & touch them. Ojo de Liebre, San Ignacio, & Lopez Mateos. I would spend a few days in my adopted home town of Loreto. Go to the islands, San Javier, & explore the town of Loreto. It is the oldest settlement in the Californias. (1697) This year in October loreto will be 325 years young. John Steinbeck & Ray Cannon used to hangout in Loreto back in the day. Since you started surfing check out San Juanico one of the best rights in the world. Safe travels! 👍
John thanks so much for the additional info. We will pin this for our subscribers to see as well. We did enjoy Loreto, but did not give it enough time. So many reasons to come back :)
Man ya'll the damn best. I've been setting goals about buying a camper van by May 2022 to take it for a 3 month summer trip to CA and mountain towns here in CO. Truly inspiring.
Just found you guys a watched this one video! Loved it - great info and descriptions- we have lived in Baja(many years ago) and lived in Belize for - 12 years - love travelling! We are from Calgary and built out our own ProMaster did S Cali. Last year and will do Baja this summer(Hope we can stand the heat) - if you want or need Belize info or contacts we know a lot!
Yo this was awesome and super informative as we have been planning to check it out. This video helped give us the push we needed, thanks friends! Now the only debate is whether to haul ass to the Van Meetup or just take it slowww since there will still be tons of people after anyhow.
Awesome glad we could help! The van meet up was well worth it. We met three friends for life there so... We would say try to make it :) Everyone will be coming down at the same time which makes it even more fun.
We’ve taken Joceline’s car across the border a few times and it was way easier than expected! A little sketched out with border crossing the van just for the USA re-entry though. Excited for the Central America updates! (We’re planning to fly back to Nicaragua and hit Guatemala this year!) 🍻
Hi Tim! Take it down. Especially in Baja you will not be disappointed! Oh man. When are you flying out there we may be in Guatemala, but not sure if we will go much further south.
Love this video. Lots of great info for future travel to Baja. Any information on what’s needed to take pets down there or if it’s a problem traveling with pets to that destination?
Hi, I would check before going, but the good news is a lot of our friends came down with their dogs and had no issues. They all made sure to have all their paperwork and vet records in order. Very friendly place for pets :)
Cheers to another great video... Will do it! In the late 90's I traveled through with a group and the one major item that tripped me out was the traffic/security stops with soldiers with machine guns. Is that still in place, and how did that go?
Stephen, 1. We’ve been missing you and your fun comments!! Glad to see your face pop up 😁 2. Good question, we forgot to mention that. Yes they’re are some stops with security checks but all seemed official and were there for our safety. Never got hassled.
I’ve been traveling Baja for about 20 years, my biggest tip is to keep it low key. IMO heading down there in a rigged out van like that puts such a target on your back. The whole van scene is exploding and I wouldn’t be surprised to see van lifers running into unwanted trouble from criminals down there.
You definitely always need to be careful. We typically don’t go very far from our van unless it’s in a paid spot. But also took the van mainland Mexico and Central America and had no issues. But we definitely put a huge emphasis on safety and do a ton of research before going anywhere. Can’t let fear stop you from exploring! Just be smart about it
United States of "America". We say it as a short form just like someone would say "Congo" instead of Republic of the Congo or "Emirates" instead of United Arab Emirates.
Lots of great info here but why would you post the video of that young girl that was clearly so uncomfortable with you sticking a camera in her face? If you wouldn’t do that to a child in the U.S., you shouldn’t do it to a child anywhere in the world. Thanks for the great info otherwise
Clearly uncomfortable? It looks like you are someone who travels and also films. Have you never had an interaction with someone off camera? She approached us and was curious about us. This was a very innocent interaction. We asked her if it is ok to film and she said she wanted to show us her cat and other animals...
got it. just did not feel that way to me on camera. thanks for the other great info in the video. we are headed down for two weeks of SUV camping next week! @@FarisandLisa

That’s so awesome!! We can’t wait to hear about your new rig and your trip. Colorado was one of our favorite places!
So lots of great info to encourage other travelers to plan, feel comfortable and safe. And making new friends always a plus! Keep enjoying life!
Making new friends is always a plus✨🌈❤️
Thank you for doing this! Love the detailed explanation.
Glad to hear it was helpful! You gotta go! I promise it was our favorite so far
@@FarisandLisa soon my friends, soon!
Quick note on diesel. All Diesel and gasoline in Mexico is imported. We have little to no refining capacity.
I love La Baja its the best

Awesome video! Thanks! Just subscripted. 😁
Thanks for the sub!
Does your vehicle need special permit? I know when you are going deeper into mexico you do. But im not sure about baja.

Just wondering how much is your monthly budget. Will be helpful. Thank you
Hi! We plan on making a more in depth video about this to help out fellow vanlifers!
@@FarisandLisa Thank you!
You skipped shipwrecks and nine palms? Next time... Head east past San Jose and flora farms.
First
I keep seeing these people getting FMM for Baja and all of Baja is a hassle free zone you only need it if you plan to cross by ferry to mainland.
You need to get an FMM, but you do not need a TIP for Baja.
You were in Central America as soon as you ended Mexico and this includes Baja. Lol
Not sure what you mean?
Hi
Thanks, Emmett ♥️

I rather you guys think this is an unsafe and dark ugly place.
