- Here is a quick video of our NEW Xtension 40" Vertical Arcade Machine in action.
VERTICAL MAME (With Manipulated Custom Graphic Lay Files)
Similar to the 3/4 Alpha-Cade Vertical Arcade Machine we announced earlier this week, (now shown on a larger 40" TV) we modified a version of the popular MAME software with a manipulated “Lay” file. Then we created custom unique bezels and marquee graphics to correspond to each loaded game. This allows the top portion of the vertically placed TV to display a custom marquee graphic, that changes with each game loaded. Similar to the concept of a 2nd screen for marquee graphics (dynamic marquee), with out the need for adding a 2nd monitor.
We discovered that a modified MAME version can play not only vertical games, but horizontal games in it’s true native 4:3 or 3:4 ratio format. We also programmed 3 different screen sizes for both horizontal and vertical MAME formats that can be selected from the "Video Options" in the MAME menu. One can easily create their own "Lay" files for the games you want your bezels and marquees to be customized to, similar to the examples we have shown.
THIS IS A REAL INNOVATIVE GAME CHANGER FOR MAME! Like always, our goal is to stay innovative in retro arcade game emulation and provide a great arcade experienced to our customers.

This arcade machine also features an optional easy to install virtual pinball side button upgrade Kit, with Sanwa Buttons!
MODULAR ARCADE PEDESTAL
Also, features a traditional arcade pedestal option with a modular enclosed vertical top. Remove the top section for arcade pedestal use! With the top section mounted, this is now the tallest Xtension Arcade Machine yet, at 74.5" high!

The Digital Marquee is definitely the stand out feature, and vertical games like Galaga 1:58 are awesome.
For 4:3, the sizes you picked align nicely to traditional arcade monitor sizes.
40" 16:9 monitor = 25" 4:3 monitor equivalent (vertical)
32" 16:9 monitor = 20" 4:3 monitor equivalent (vertical)
Please bring back! I missed the opportunity to purchase one last time...Now that Coin Ops has made several Vertical packages be nice to play on this machine now..
The brightness and vibrancy of the colors so much better in the higher end displays.

This is brilliant they just made a 1 setup for all good for vertical / pinball and 4:3 fix for 16:9 monitors

Know that would be cool isxa foldable flat-screen for the pinball. So,you just fold the screen back wit legs,than its a pinball table,bring back up fold legs up,back to arcade. Lol

What version of modified mane are you using and where can I get those cool layout files with the marquees?
You and achieve this with MAME version 0.197 or newer, and we hope to have tutorials available soon.
There's some one that can sell me an "x-tension 8 buttons arcade stick"?? I need one for my x tension arcade cabinet, also I need a replacement bezel, someone that can sell me this 2 item on eBay
You have to have pretty wide wingspan to do the pinball I would think. Great idea in theory though just gonna have to be taller individual to make it comfortable
Hi so is this available for a retro pi now? I saw on your website that it says pi on there now just want to verify this before purchase. And will the marquee work the same with the retro pie?thanks
To our current knowledge, the MAME "Lay File" manipulation is not currently possible with raspberry pi and is only possible with PC. There are many vertical options and images for retro pie however we are not currently aware of any that offer digital marquees. Again, this works great on the PC.

This looks amazing - can you post instructions on how to achieve this using Retropie, which uses a much older version of MAME?
Also, will you offer a version of this with the trackball controller as an option?

What brand TV's are you using? I like this one it jumps right into the game with no HDMI 1 on the screen lime The alpha cade does.

@@Thevinylhouse The cabinet most 40" standard VESA mount flat screen monitors / TV's measuring no wider than 36" wide (horizontal left to right width, in normal horizontal orientation) and measuring no wider than 20.6" wide (vertical up and down height, in normal horizontal orientation). As long as you source a VESA mount ready flat scree TV that fits in the dimensional requirements, you TV should fit just fine.

Sorry, we do not have any discounts available. We manufacture our products domestically (not overseas), and employee many hard-working Americans. US domestic manufacturing is becoming more more difficult everyday and we are trying very hard not to raise our retail prices as a result.
What do you do for the speakers?
You can use the speakers that come with your 3rd party TV as most modern TV's have a more than adequate built in speaker system. HDMI from your PC or raspberry pi transmits sound very nicely to your TV, and you can then use the TV's remote controller to control the volume. An additional 3rd party speaker system is not necessary, however you can certainly add any third-party components you like once you've assembled your cabinet.
I work in the tv industry. You really can’t get a premium display until you get to 43 inch
This is by far the tallest product we offer. Any TV or display larger than a 40" would exceed the average ceiling hight (in some homes), and therefore not be practical as an in-home arcade product.
Going to buy this system as soon as I can.

Problem is you can’t get a premium tv until you get to the 49 - 55 inch range.
