I want to you to build one for me how much cost and deliver to Ohio plz let me know
@@zachhammam1302 hi these take a lot of time and work, email david@diy.engineering if interested
This is probably one of the coolest retropie projects I have seen.
If you have issues with dowels swelling, and they're small enough, I just put them in the freezer for a day. That will dry them out pretty quickly.
Only concern I have with 3D printed parts is if they absorb and swell later they could expand and crack the plastic. Suppose you could seal them straight out of the freezer to prevent it.
This is AMAZING! The only thing I would add is like a 2-3 minute delay when you select the game, that would bring the memories of gaming in the 80-90s :D
hahaha, nooooo!
These are arcade games, not C64.
2-3 minute DELAY? No arcade machine made you wait 2-3 minutes to play after putting your quarter(s) in.
A piece of art design. I would be your first buyer if it was for sale on your website 👍👍👍
This is being auctioned at www.ebay.com/itm/114965133386
@@DIYEngineering Too bad. I have missed this message. Not available anymore 😭
@@DIYEngineering how much did it go for? This is really cool.
Awesome! A little above my pay grade but definitely a sight to behold
That's a beautiful build there - thanks for sharing the work that went into this in such detail
this is amazing, the acrylic inserts and the bending of the plexi really stole the show for me. I've always wanted to try bending some plexi for an arcade project I got on the back burner. Old Bosconian Cabaret has a marquee that is acrylic shaped so I need to do something like what you did to bend it with. If I could say one tiny thing, I would have just 4 buttons, even the most modern vertical game is just 4 buttons and it would look so much classier with less buttons. Maybe add them to the side if needed. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic work...how did you create a "custom game layout" in emulationstation where the marquee is part of the gaming image? Please provide a link for instructions or post a tutorial on how to accomplish such a cool feature.
Thanks,
Brent
Great design, flawless execution. Your attention to design and detail is appreciated. Very professional. I was wondering how you were going to pull off those bends!
Thank you, me too! Haha
The form factor and orientation look like it would be great for virtual pinball.
Congratulations, that is a gorgeous build, well done.
This is AMAZING. Please take some high quality photos (white background, good camera) and submit this to some blog websites. I’m sure it would get a lot of attention. This is work of art. Great job, just subscribed!
This is absolutely biblical. Jr pac looked absolutely beautiful when you had the lights off with the led lighting.
Thank you, i did it! The next version has a monitor double the curve so that one I think is gonna rock!
Wow that is one of the cleanest builds I have ever seen! Good work!
This thing is legit! Hands down the coolest arcade build ever! Nice work!!!
Yeah ok
This is the most innovative arcade build I've ever seen. And I'm always on the lookout for a minimalist build. Fantastic work!
Beautiful. I already made my version of the tabletop (suitcase), to my liking, so I'm not thinking of making another one... but this one is really beautiful...
congratulations.
that is wonderfully engineered and aesthetically fantastic...well done!
My god David you have out done yourself ... again! I love the overview of the assembly and the narration of it all. I really like the night view too. The only thing I can add is one day I hope I can hang out with you and talk tech and design over some Blue Moon drafted from the Jedi Dispenser and maybe play a few games on this or the new sweet unit. There are other channels doing similar things on YT but yours I find is the best. Maybe because I feel you are not just putting thought into it but a little heart and soul. More like a labor of love than work. As always David you are the man and I continue to look forward to each new episode to create sir. I would say keep up the good work but that seems small considering the great work you put out. I will be dropping you some cash on the next check to help with the cost of things. But if we do get to hangout I cover the cost of the pony of Blue Moon, you supply the games. ;)
Thanks for supporting the channel, It helps bring these things to life!
@@DIYEngineering You are more than welcome David. As long as you keep making these feast for my eyes and mind you will have my support sir.
Great build. Really cute arcade.👍 I thought you were cool, up until you said iPhone.🤣 Thank you for showing this video.
What a lovely bit of workmanship there!! Love it. Brilliant work.
As an electromechanical engineering student and a part-time artist with a great interest in videogames, your videos are about the greatest thing I've found on RUclips and on the internet in general. You are as great an artist as you are an engineer; I hope the gaming hardware industry eventually catches up to the amazing designs you upload regularly in this channel.
It is hard for me to comprehend how such an incredibly thorough and impressive video only has about 5k views; it seems the RUclips algorithm has not been fair on you. I have subscribed, ringed that notification bell, and liked the video to help it reach as many people as possible. Keep up the amazing work, and I hope that eventually I'll be able to purchase one of these bad boys!
Thank you for the words of encouragement! It’s definitely driven by my passion over the results! I’m working on a new and improved curvecade and hope to incorporate a lot of improvements.
Strongly agree , this guy bring it beyond the edges

This is really amazing, and have given me a whole new look at the possibilities of designing a slim and modern looking arcade.
I will probably adopt alot of the design choices, but would opt for tilting the control a little to make it wall mountable and kids friendly. I will also be looking at how to make it a 2P arcade. But this is SO awesome. Beautiful work !
thank you and good luck! come back and share a link to your design once you finish!
Damn, that's a work of art!
Thanks, working on a new version soon!
@@DIYEngineering Excellent, can't wait to see it!
that is really good work
Absolutely magnificent! The only thing I would have done differently, and it's very minor, is the decals on the buttons. Instead of having them on top of the buttons, I would have popped the tops off, and stuck the decals inside (a method I did for my Arcade1Up mod). That way the don't rub off :) Other than that, this is perfect!
I would buy one for sure!
it looks absolutely fantastic! really nicely done! i do think the steeper curve will improve it quite dramatically and aluminium sides could be even more to my liking so i can't wait to see how that turns out, but wow, its really really beautiful!
Very impressive build and awesome video!
Very nice, as all your designs! 🔥🔥🔥
beautiful work!
Awesome design !
Amazing work!
Thanks
Looks like you did not took any shortcut to really accomplish this amazing design.
Absolutely impressive!
No shortcuts! Lol
Great job, on the video and the masterpiece
That’s some brilliant craftsmanship and design!
Looks amazing with the marquee at the top to for each game!
The only thing I’d change is the wood sides… But then I wouldn’t even know where to start on making something that is this cool…
Thanks, what would you change about the wood sides?
@@DIYEngineering Something darker and not necessarily black either
I think it looked a bit odd with everything else black and the sides being a bright wood colour.
Absolutely love this!!❤
amazing and innovative
Thanks! Mission accomplished!

I love it! amazing work!
ty!
Bravo c'est magnifique 😍😍😍
Wow.great wrk
God Lord, this is amazing.
Very nice video and very instructive.

One word: Outstanding.

Sick build dude 😎
Gorgeous job. Looks like it could do with a wider stand, to make it more stable when moving the joystick a lot? The larger 900R screen in your next version will look even more impressive and have better ergonomics, but fantastic job all round.
Thanks, yep already designing a better stand. This is a23”, next version is 27”
The tighter curve is nice
Awesome design and execution!
If you haven't already written an article for MAKE magazine, or other similar DIY publications, it could help get out the word for your channel.
Top Draw
Brilliant
The build is absolutely FANTASTIC! But I must add games doesn't run well, especially dodonpachi... It would be a shame to ruin such fantastic build with performance issues.
True, while it runs good in my opinion, the frame rate was hit a little by running the scanline shader on a 3a+. This build is just a prototype to see if i could do it, there is always v2! ;)
Hola quedo genial
No tenes las plantillas pero en pdf?
High art friend. Wow.
Awesome!!!!
When you mentioned the buttons on the side I realised what an amazing digital pinball table that would make . I
Wonder if you could install rumble packs from a game pad?. I wish I could just buy this in the UK as I don’t have the skills and tools and patience.
Bravissimo, dove posso trovare i file? È possibile stampare tutti i pezzi con una stampante 3d?
Does it have a chance teeter totter left to right or back and forth?
AMAZING!!!
GREAT WORK MAN!!!
Ty!
Cool.
How do you get the marquee at the top and the play area at the bottom? Also where can one find the marquee art?
Thanks.
The Design episode for this cab, is what made me insta-subscribe to your channel, and this build video exceeded all my expectations. You are a master at your craft and I can't wait to see the upgraded version of this....Congratulations and keep up the excellent work.
EDIT AFTER REWATCH: That vertical arcade theme is gorgeous and hoped that you would've demoed a bit of pinball, but maybe next time. Am curious if you're going to upgrade HW on the system to a Raspi4 or another more powerfull SBC or NUC type system to handle more demanding games and/or virtual pinball. Thanks!
thank you!
edit: yes, the v2 model will include all of those things mentioned... it's always a stuggle to use as many materials as I have vs. going into debt to pay for top notch! ;)
@@DIYEngineering Absolutely! Also glad to see the prototype unit was already sold! Can't wait to see V2.0 come out!
Alcohol can cause cracks and small fractures in the surface of the acrylic, you should absolutely use a different solvent on it. Look carefully, especially around stress areas, you may see the cracking and it may get worse over time.
thanks for the info, fortunately, ive never experienced this phenomena, perhaps as I exclusively use chemcast acrylic? maybe but I will avoid it in the future.
E' meraviglioso e andrebbe messo in scala per la vendita...complimenti io sarei interessato ad acquistarlo

I didnt understand the advantage to be a curved monitorn but it came out great!
This is a tremendous project. The bent acrylic is just exquisite. I wonder if the technique that you used might be possible to use for more complex 3d geometries, like how stamped metal parts are made, or like what can be done on a vacuum table. The organic curves on yours here look amazing.
Yes, this technique can be used for 3d shapes. The hard part is uniformly heating large areas of acrylic. And the surface finish of your forming bucks are critical.
@@DIYEngineering Do you think it would work better if the forming bucks were metal, say aluminum, so they could also be heated?
its called vacuum moulding
Wonderfull ❤
I can’t find the design files on the website, anyone know where to find them please
😮 Wow fantastik work 👏👏👏👏❤️🇹🇷
Nice idea and work, here. Could I ask what theme you're using to achieve the marquee?
im using the vertical theme in Emulation Station, but then created custom overlays for each rom to include the marquee above the play area.
I love this curvecade build!! Have you considered making them and selling them? If so, how much would you charge for one and could we play a part in picking the type of gaming board and program that goes into it? God Bless!
Wow! This is so beautiful and well made! Thanks for the detailed build video, it was so entertaining to watch. Do you think it would be possible to build something like this without a CNC and a 3D printer?
It could be done, it’s designed for the specific fab techniques, so would require rework …
@@DIYEngineering I think many of us would love to see a version of it without using a CNC and a 3D printer so the mortals like us can dream to build something like this :D
Do you sell the frame so I can build this?
Only 9k views? RUclips has failed you.
#shadowbanned
Molto bello!Che cnc usi?
I'd love to buy it from you. Are you selling it? It looks so cool.
Are you going to make the design files available on your patreon or for sale on your website?
Will be available to patrons
That’s great,. I will keep an eye out for it.
man most be nice having over $100k in tools but anyway you did a awesome job
it's taken 20 years to build the shop... it is nice :)
Do you sell them I need one for my brother that's battling brain cancer and he can't come outside at all how much for one of these?
l'idee est bonne mais l'ecran verticale l'ai beaucoup moins!
i bet people would buy it if you made a lot of them i can see people spending as much what atgames and arcade1up asking for there machines $500 or more just saying
