This video is showing what I love about crochet over knitting. Knitting is so structured that it locks you into what that pattern says. Crochet has the freedom to experiment with how you work the stitches to create the texture you like. Thank you for taking me on my new adventure called crochet.
After the first row, the first "cluster" stitches go "around the chain, and not through the stitch, it looks like. It also looks like the work 'was' turned. I know some paterns have you work 'backwards' down a row, but the photo links like the work was turned, as eachcrow leans the opposite direction from the last row. Someone may have written this already, but this is what I see, before you start the project with 'the correct colors'. Also...after the first row...I would use the next color on the next 'Two Rows'. Changing colors every third Row, after changing to the last color. Gotta give it to those women 😉❤
I made a thing based on sizing up one of the corner bookmark patterns you did forever ago. -- I sized it up to make a corner cover for a pillow that my puppy had chewed lol. It worked out great although I am trying to make an edging to go around the rest of the pillow so it blends better. It was the first full project I have made off of one of your videos. I love watching your channels and this series especially! ❤
All I keep seeing is a fab cardigan.!! Ruana, whatever.! The stitch pattern really is incredible - VERY versatile.! Love it.!! 😍 As always, thank you for sharing. 😁
That is just so beautiful now I have to make one for my husband and me. I'm so glad I found your video's. God bless you and your family ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I give this one 40 hearts
Start it over! I don’t know if you are aware of this, but double crochet is the most economical stitch of crochet. It uses the least amount of yarn. Great job on starting over!
Yup, it's better than the original! I'm definitely going to be making *your* scarf pattern very soon. I recently got a couple of "mystery boxes" from JOANNS and some of the yarns aren't really colors I use often, but perfectly nice ones for making donations and gifts with. I can see several lovely scarves and shawls made (perhaps with some neutral color added) using that yarn and this improved pattern here. The original pattern might be better with a more bulky and fuzzy yarn, perhaps one with less spring or stretch? It's always about getting the stitch and the yarn to play nicely together, isn't it? You continue to be a delight, Corinna. Keep on keepin' on!
1) Another great vid! 2) I was trying to figure out a crochet pattern where the instructions say something like: Row 98 - make as row 80. Row 80 - make as row 63. Row 63 - make as row 45........... all the way back to row 8 being like row 5. OMG 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
I love that scarf! I’m going to make one in the same colors for my daughter for Christmas. She loves anything vintage, so this is right up her alley. You did a wonderful job, the instructions you followed were nebulous at best. They only made sense once you revealed the picture. Lol
Go for it! Make it yours. I really your rendering . I enjoy these so much, whether I'm working with you or just watching you. If your son is like mine, he really enjoys blacking out all things that would give us a clue as to what we're worIking. Im glad you have the gumption to figure these patterns out. I'd have given up on a bunch of them. Thank you for doing them. Please tell yourr son I thank him for getting it "mystery crochet" ready.
I need to try the way you did it ad the first try, I kind of liked it an would like to see how the next rows look. I like the "new" way as well...just another on the list.
This is actually a pattern that I could do. Bigger yarn is what I'm stuck with. Two surgeries on my left hand/wrist and I have to heal first, but I'm doing this one. I love it too. Arthritic hands are just awful!!
I think it's so much nicer how you decided to do it in the end , I really think that as your re writing these patterns you could sell your patterns on a website or store , they are great .
I'm loving watching you trying to figure this out. You have the patience of a saint corrina. But I am working on a blanket while watching this and I found myself following you instead of doing what I was supposed to do. I have learned I can't crochet and watch you at the same time as I tend to follow you. 😂
Beautiful colour scheme. The nice thing about these mystery patterns/tutorials is that the sense of style of many of these items is timeless and could be used or worn today.
Wow! You nailed this one very quickly! Absolutely love your color choices and how you changed the stitches to make them bulkier! A girlfriend in New Jersey wants a rectangular stole and this pattern will be perfect for that! I'll be "stealing" your colors for it - she loves purple! Thank you for sharing another high quality tutorial with us! I really appreciate how clearly you show where and how to make each stitch. You rock lady! 😊
Delicious pattern, I would call it stacked, linked, pairs of half double crochets in rows with 3 chain spaces between. I see it in a jumper/sweater. There are so many variations to try, like a 2 chain space between instead of 3 chains.
I love how your scarf turned out. I really want to make it. Even though we only crochet from the right side which willl make a lot of threads to sew in. Love yyour vintage channel Corinna your fabulous hunni...
I've been crocheting a project using a Sheepje's whirl, I started at the center because that was the color I wanted at the center of my round lotus flower table topper, and the yarn barf😁 situation has repeatedly happened, lol. Glad I'm almost finished!
Thank you so much for watching! Please hit the " Like" button above if you did like the pattern and Subscribe for Tutorials like this and more! :)
I really enjoy these mystery vids. It's like you are a crochet archeologist uncovering the past. You have the patience of a saint, thx!
Yes like living history. We need more living history.
I totally agree
Agreed

SO well said! :)
Exactly.

The second way makes it thicker for a scarf.
Do you know that something in your house sounds like an old fashioned typewriter?
I would have done black, purple, black, gray, black, repeat. But I do like your revised pattern better and it would look good for a sweater.
I made a thing based on sizing up one of the corner bookmark patterns you did forever ago. -- I sized it up to make a corner cover for a pillow that my puppy had chewed lol. that's so cool

I love it doubled up as well. It's so squishy that way.
This would be a great stitch to use with a thicker yarn for a plush baby blanket. Would work up in no time flat!
Great idea!
That would be pretty in so many different colors too. For the holidays red, green and white or silver. I really like this pattern.
I totally agree!
Cute!
Love you decided to go with 3 separate colors vs 1 variegated yarn!🤗❤️👍
I just love morning coffee and mystery patterns!!'thank you so much! You make my day

I think that would also make a beautiful throw Afghan.
As I looked at it, I thought the beginning black stitches were too long (large?) but you fixed that. Must have read my mind! Love the redo!
Luv your changes. I think the the spaces were to large at first like you said. I think it came out great. Thanks for another fun video.
Thanks so much! 😊

I dont know how you do it XD i would have thrown that out the window. LOVE the second version with the doubled stitch
So funny! I regularly feel like throwing work out the window!! 😁

Scarf looks brilliant
A Picture is worth its weight in Gold!
I like the scarf. Love the mystery vintage crochet as well
I love how the new stitch u come up with looks like hearts 💛 soo cute. You amaze me with these vintage patterns. 😊 ❤
I like the double double crochets. It looks like crow's feet. Just making little changes to a stitch pattern can really pay dividends.

Looks great with the double stitches👍
I'm excited!! Ready, Set, Go!!
Instead of weaving in the ends, they're used to create the fringe. I've seen modern patterns where this was done.
You and I have the same likes in our styles because I always agree with what you want to change and how you change it. Great job
This was a fun mystery. I'm very happy that you decided to make the scarf.😊 Thank you for sharing ✌️🫶✌️
❤❤love the color choices beautiful scarf
Wow!! I love it.
I need to try the way you did it ad the first try, I kind of liked it an would like to see how the next rows look. I like the "new" way as well...just another on the list.
LOVE the re-write!!!
That black fringe really accents the color motif. Very nice.

It's great!!! Lol!
It really did turn out great. I love happy accidents.

Oh my, you are the master ( mistress?) Of crochet!! Fabulous 💜🖤
Oh thank you!

Looks fantastic, a must do for me! Thanks.

Thank you so much for that Rosemary :), this one is fun and it works up pretty fast too :)
The colors you chose are absolutely stunning together. And I love making scarves myself along with blankets.
That turned out lovely. x
This is a really simple but attractive scarf. It would make a lovely evening shawl if worked in something like a brushed mohair. So pretty.
Oh I love what you did with this pattern… just lovely .. thank you Corina ❤

Recreating vintage patterns is very enjoyable. Very nice video, thanks for sharing.😊
Mother freaked when you said "hell". 😳
Another fantastic mystery ❤. Absolutely loved your version!
Thank you so much!
Oh wow! That is so awesome! ❤ this series! Water lily is coming along slowly but surely... 😅
I’m working on the water lily too!
Glad to have someone working along with me!
I love how your scarf turned out. I really want to make it. Even though we only crochet from the right side which willl make a lot of threads to sew in.
Love yyour vintage channel Corinna your fabulous hunni...
Hi Corinna- I have no clue…
Oh wow- a guy’s scarf!
I like the blk, Amythest, and gray.
I like it! Lol
Love these!❤
Cute. God bless
Love your version, It's like rows of hearts.
Love your version!
Your pattern would look awesome in a shawl with a lighter weight yarn. I love crocheting along with you on my projects.
Excellent improvement on the original pattern!
Just started the vid, but I’m overly excited for this! Your whole channel is a joy!
Yay! Thank you!
I really like your modifications better.

This pattern is really cool! I will save it for trying it myself. Thank you for turning this into a tutorial!
I like your thoughts on the updated version. You're so incredibly talented figuring out these patterns!
Thank you so much!
You're right, it is great. I like the change of the stitches, it gives it a nice chunky look. Thank you for this Twistery video 😉🧶🧶🧶
The temptation to scroll through to the end and find out the result is so strong!
You are so wonderful how you figure these out. 💜
I figured it had to be a scarf or wrap if it went by your measurements. Nice! ❤
I love this channel!!!
You have a great eye for pattern adjustment! Love this twist of the vintage pattern. ❤
Thank you! 😊
Love it...and the colour combo. Would take me alot longer than cpl days
I love these videos! So glad I discovered your channel!
I liked the changed up stitches. Also I like that you ended with the same row you started with. I'm OCD like that with my projects. Lol
Great job! Enjoyed watching you make it even with a peek of the photo. Great colors.
Beautiful work! I like the adjustments you made better than the pattern. I'm definitely making this. Thank you ❤
Hi Corinna! I made the snood and wanted to send a picture of it but didn't know where to! I hope you are well and feeling great.
I've been crocheting a project using a Sheepje's whirl, I started at the center because that was the color I wanted at the center of my round lotus flower table topper, and the yarn barf😁 situation has repeatedly happened, lol. Glad I'm almost finished!
You are very funny you enjoyed!!!!cro chet I like it
