Douglas is just unbelievable. When I first heard him on Beat The Champ, I knew he had to be a permanent member. The fact that he stands out in a band full of double and triple-threats is just amazing.

you mean to tell me i've been searching for golden boy peanuts in every pan-asian supermarket i've ever seen and they don't even make them anymore? i need to sit down
Matt is incredible as always on the sax, but I really want to pay special attention to Peter Hughes with that THICC bass on Foreign Object. The song wouldn't be near as good without it.
Also: Southwood Plantation Road, Lakeside View Aparment Suite, Up the Wolves. He brings baselines that elevate these songs to another level. He will really be missed....
fuckin' nice, we raised $2.7k for NAHA and $1.8k for Next Door Solutions already!!!! i had a great time, hope to see you all again in future streams! 🍇
although a mountain goats rock album would rock I feel like there's something magical about those single songs on albums that are just John losing it and a whole album of them wouldn't have the same kick to it
They're doing themed albums these days, a lovecraft themed album would be great - on the evidence of lovecraft in brooklyn, JD seems to know his stuff as far as lovecraft is concerned
Where's the part when the Guitarist men's he was playing the last few songs with the wrong settings and John says something along the lines of "In Jazz there are no mistakes, only errors"‽
Does anyone know if this is livestream-only, or if it will be available to view online for awhile afterwards for those of us in time zones where it may be more difficult to watch the stream?
Is it bad that I love this way more than seeing them live in a shitty venue in Melbourne? Being shoved around and farted on by drunk dudes is not my idea of a good time.... >.>"
You say that like it's a bad thing. Moms and dads are shaping the future quite literally. it's probably one of the most important roles a person can take on.
As a person with a diagnosed mental illness. Listening to the mountain goats is more of a salve than any mental health professional. All Hail West Texas's first song is quite relatable. So I find the previous comment, questionable. Mental health professional? don't insult the guy. Sounds like you're championing the latest trendy cause and attaching the mountain goats name to their propaganda. I believe your form of praise would be different if you'd seen the mental health system up close. P.S. great performance, some of my favourite songs. Story of the pigs, Lovecraft in Brooklyn. I'm glad there's a cover album that explains my dilemma...... All I listen to is the mountain goats. No harm intended. Peace
John, I think you know this, but when you switched to music full-time you never stopped being a mental health professional. Thank you.
Completely. Well said.
Agree 100%
Oh my gosh, how well-put, thank you for that
I love every single time that I come across this YT feed & see your comment... It makes me smile every damn time. ♡
I fully agree, both as a psychology student and as someone who's brought up Mountain Goats songs in therapy more than once
No one's going to talk abut how John is straight up barefoot? This session is amazing and it's the most COVID thing ever
Peter's bass playing and especially tone are criminally underrated
This stream is for the people who tell their families that they're sorry for things they can't and won't feel sorry for
This entire group is a dream team, but having Matt Douglas in your band is like winning the lottery. Dude is amazing.
No kidding. Dude is a swiss army knife.
Douglas is just unbelievable. When I first heard him on Beat The Champ, I knew he had to be a permanent member. The fact that he stands out in a band full of double and triple-threats is just amazing.

Thank you
Can I get some love for Damn These Vampires? One of my favourite TMG songs and I think their rendition of it is beautiful here
proud to be a lifetime member of the Matt Massive
true statement!!!!
Just the best band around!

Spitting beer on my keyboard on my birthday. You have won the day.

The little “Woo!” for Tallahassee was blessed~
Some bands will never know that they got you through some hard times. Sending love from my far away island location ~
first song G O E S
Tollund Man is a good follow up.
Jon's drumming is next level. Mighty chops
That rendition of International Small Arms Traffic Blues made me cry
John, you look like an ancient, wise, wizard. In other words you look great.
Reminder is set. Night 1 was INCREDIBLE
what a blast both nights were in chat, excited to see the band and the people who love them in person some day 🍇🔪🎷
WOW! This is one of those times when I RUclips finds an obscure, precious gem! WTGoat!
im so excited!! im gathering a bunch of friends to watch it together via discord
Great set! Donated as requested. Thanks everyone for so many years of amazing music.

they should do an album of lovecraft in brooklyn type songs
well dont have too high hopes, the next ones going to be jazz based and entirely about Magic The Gathering
although a mountain goats rock album would rock I feel like there's something magical about those single songs on albums that are just John losing it and a whole album of them wouldn't have the same kick to it

My reminder didn't go off... still happy so to see this, missing the chat though :(
You can access the live chat still I think, but sadly you can’t type in it.
This is such a fun, beautiful and quality session. Outstanding!
wow . did not expect night 2 to be soo different. i missed both earlier for health issues.
what a blast this was
lovely show, had a great time 😊🍇
Thanks tMG. I love your music.
👍👀😁 very catchy tuneage , how cool.
Man, I love ya John
He's locking her out with the new key. She can't come back = way to "leave" (not literally) your lover.
@sam yes north Florida!
Awesome as Xx
Congrats on 2k!
So GOOD! Yeeeeee!
Where's the part when the Guitarist men's he was playing the last few songs with the wrong settings and John says something along the lines of "In Jazz there are no mistakes, only errors"‽
Oh no, we're in hell...no Golden Boy...the math checks out.
🖤🖤🖤
thank you @johngreen for talking too much about the Mountain Goats in your lastest book
and here I am
how many times have i watched this and only now noticed matt's shirt? love y'all.
Does anyone know if this is livestream-only, or if it will be available to view online for awhile afterwards for those of us in time zones where it may be more difficult to watch the stream?
I asked the label on Twitter, if I get an answer, I'll let you know :)
@@Gablork thank you!
Available through the weekend per tmg management
It's online now
I want to hear more about those infotapes John. Lmfao
There's going to be a V 2?!?
there already was, these originally aired a few months back
But they are taking requests for volume 3 and 4, so make sure to send yours in!
