@jonovankirk the miracle...I have 15 years, yet you worked much harder to stay clean during that time than I did. It gets easier with practice and you're well on your way! Lol I detoxed at home with my 1 year old who recently discovered eyes. I was in hell and he'd come running up with his finger out yelling "EEEEYEEEE!!" ---as he poked my eyeball out 🤣🤣🤣 I kept telling myself I never had to go through that again if I just stayed the eff away from that 💩! That saved my ass a couple times when I was tempted
I literally went to a tattoo studio today to arrange getting "I am gonna make it through this year if it kills me" on my arm! I think this is the universe telling me that it was the correct choice. Thank you!!!!!

My mom had a massive stroke last summer, and my grandfather passed away ten days before Christmas. The year before that I was struggling with the death of a friend who was murdered and set on fire in his apartment. I keep telling myself that I am going to make it through this year, every year. I hope that I can make it through this one.
This was one of the first songs from this band I heard and I've sung it multiple times every year as kind of an anthem to keep going. I love that they posted it on this day. I was sitting in my room playing guitar and singing various songs I felt fit the mood and just sang my heart out. The Mountain Goats is probably my favorite band in general now and this makes me love them even more. Thank you guys for making such amazing music! I hope to see a concert someday. Please come to northern Ohio sometime so I can go to a show.
