On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

There was a podcast with Gero Finke, lead dev of True Grit and former Eurofighter Pilot, where he said when the German Airforce introduced the Eurofighter they trained with the Dutch Air Force dogfighting against the F16, he said that they made the Dutch pilots sweat quite a bit. And that it was kind off payback time because the years before they trained with F4's against the Dutch F16's
and the dutch f16's are better than the american ones (C versions) since netherlands are flying the A version, A LOT more light

I think it would be super cool to have a video explaining the different dogfight scenarios, and maybe some high-level strategy videos when fighting with missiles. Having a visualization of the difference between one circle, two circle, vertical, etc. would be really neat. So would some explanations of how to defend missiles, why that works, etc.
Maybe it would be old news for a lot of viewers, but I would really enjoy that kind of explanation video.
I'm pretty sure he's got something like that but it's old and isn't the same quality of his videos now but I totally agree, he should remake it in 2023 quality tho!
Or do a full comparison in different environments. BVR. Dogfighting. Night fighting....and in different terrain without SAMs or AWACS in support.
Keep watching his videos, he does a really good job of explaining and showing what all the nomenclature means and how to understand and use it quite often in his videos. Even specifics such as certain missile types, how different radars work and how to work with and against them.

Just another reinforcement of the mantra that if you steer the fight to your plane’s strength that you always have a chance of flying away the victor.
The 2nd round was a prime example, GS was put in the position of allowing Toxic to fight to his plane’s strength and was rewarded with a head shot.
Sometimes I think some of us forget that DCS is still a simulation and only a facsimile of real word training and plane capabilities.

There is just something in the F16 shape that is very pleasing to my eyes...amazing how something that was only designed by function can come out with such a beautiful form.
Man I would still like to see a submarine hunting video if that's even a thing in dcs. I've always wanted to see how pilots go about that kind of mission.
Don't know about DCS but it was a ton of fun to hunt subs in Dangerous Waters flying the P3 Orion. Dropping a pattern of sonar bouys, plotting the track, finalizing the location via magnetic anomaly detector, and finally programming and dropping the torpedo for the kill shot.

They just added WORKING submarines and anti-submarine assets recently so yes there is the ability to do ASW,ASUW and AAW
I can tell you how we do it from the Submariner's side. Use layer depths haha. Hell we have to surface often enough during EX to let them know where we are. Fun times training with our airborne brethren. What isn't fun is being 6'7" on subs haha. 12 major surgeries later and a few more needed to say the least and now I am 6'6" =). 3 separate spinal fusion surgeries alone. I am messed up to say the least. Chief Electronics Technician Submarines (SS/IDW) Hooyah!
Maybe a bit of an idea for content: I'd be interested in seeing "profiles" of your usual crew of OPFOR guys and wingmen. What their strengths are, what aircraft they know, etc. Maybe a mini-interview as well. How did they get into DCS? What are their rigs like? That sort of thing.
Man those fight were very impressive. The EF2000 turning around, changing the aspect of the fight this fast, watching GS trying to keep-up, taking all that he have to get around and win was very nice to watch. To be honest, I'm a little bit bored of watching 2-circle fighter gameplay, but this one was hell of a fight.

It’s amazing that the F-16, that was built about 15 years earlier than the Typhoon, can still go toe to toe with it. That’s like a Boeing F2B trying to go up against a Spitfire Mk1. 👍

It's actually 25 years. The F16 was introduced in 1978 and the Eurofighter in 2003. I worked on the block 42 F16 from 2001. It is amazing that it can still hang in there. I'll give you that.
This dogfights are only entertaining. A real air to air fight with a Eurofighter would be they see you from 250 Km and shoot a Meteror at you. You would be shoot down end never ever see the Eurofighter. Same with a F35. F35 is a horrible dogfighter but it doesnt matter they would kill you way befor.

Given how the USA has spent decades screaming the virtues of the F16, it's almost gratifying to see how outclassed the F16 would have been if the Typhoon had a proper pilot. To paraphrase Jaghatai Khan to Fulgrim, "Everyone knows what you can do because you tell them, no-one knows what I can do, advantage mine"

This was one hell of a dogfight, that EF2000 is a very well designed fighter.
You should try to bring in ex-Navy and Air Force pilots who flew Phantoms, Tomcats or maybe even early version Falcons to discuss tactics and learn from people who knew these planes inside and out. Every once in a while you could discuss the tactics of fighting with the plane against old Soviet, French and Swedish planes. How they were taught or would fight the Saab 35 and 37, Mirrage F1, IIIC, 2000C, MiG-21, 23 and 29, as well as the SU 24 and 27. I assume that the US Air Force and Navy aren't as worried about revealing tactics using planes that are no longer flown vs other planes that are no longer really flown. Might be fun and I assume there are some ex-pilots out of your 504,000 subscribers.

The Typhoon got the Mauser MK-27 with 27mm rounds. This gun also used on German warships called LMG-27

i still think the performance of the eurofighter flight model is extremely questionable especially in a vertical fight considering the 40.000lbs of afterburner thrust. The eurofighter is noted to be MUCH better than an f16 at altitude and on the deck be the same or a bit better than an f16. Hell an f22 can outrate it by only 1 degree per second

It's crazy just how much of an advantage did Eurofighter have in this fight. Expected it to be much easier for F-16. Would be great to see pilots swapped in these videos and see how they handle in the opposite seats.

The F-16 is a still a very capable fighter. It's almost 50 years old and can still make very hard work for modern fighters.. Its dogfighting abilities are still top notch.

When 2 aircraft are similarly matched it comes down to the skill of the pilots and sometimes a little luck, but dont forget, depending on the ROE, you might have to do a lot of work just to get to the merge.

At loaded weight, the Eurofighter has a slight advantage, but in a nearly clean configuration like this it's remarkably close, with the Viper weighing significantly less overall.

To answer your question: The Eurofighter shoots with a Mauser BK 27mm.
27mm revolver cannon. Kind of like a rotary cannon but only one barrel that is stationary and the revolver mechanism rotates.

You are correct, EF2000 using BK-27 and it shoot mine shell. IIRC this gun have very good ballistic and high muzzle velocity.
