- Here at the workshop we are passionate about up cycling and reusing old materials to show you that a small budget can stretch a long way.
Today Ted makes a four panelled door for the first time out of left over floor boards. Don't forget to join us on the Chateau channel to see the full renovation @chateaudemontmagner

In March 2020 we purchased an abandoned historical monument in France, with a small medieval chateau, farm buildings, acres of land, a lake and the old Relais De Poste.
With no previous experience in renovation and just a small budget of €80,000 , We want to show you how we were able to transform the chateau into a thriving business and save a historical building from crumbling to the ground. By using as many old materials as we could find around the estate, up cycling furniture we found in antique shops and learning the skills we required along the way, you will see it is possible to turn a dream into a reality.
Here at the workshop, you will see the projects we take on to help us reach our goal. If you would like to see the full renovation from day one when we collected the keys, you can join us on our other channel at @ChateauDeMontmagner Please subscribe to our channel and help us save a piece of world history. Very sturdy looking door. Put a link up in the vlog to the chateau channel . Advertise your greatness !😊
You and Lisa are so much fun. 😊
Nice job Ted. I am more convinced that you could make a silk purse out of a sows ear! Sky is the limit if you had the proper materials and specific tools for the projects you do!
I agree, how does he do it?
Now that’s what I call a sturdy door! You’ve made a fantastic job Ted, you’ve every right to be proud of your achievements, you are both so talented. I’m loving this Channel very much too 👍🏻 🤗❤xx
Wow. That's a beautiful door! Well done, Ted. You've become quite a woodworker.
Well done! Good solid door.
That door is brilliant Ted, well done!
Your shop is looking good Ted. Great video.
Now that will keep them out, lol. Great job, Ted. It's great when you up a skill a level to master class. See, I had no doubt you could do it.
Give Ted some wood, and Ted could 😅
Well done Ted! Like the new channel 👍
It’s so satisfying to make something out of materials you have then buying new. I love reusing materials that I have on hand and you do a great job of the same thing.
The door is great well done. Watched your wedding on channel 4 today ❤
Fabulous job with the door. It looks really good.
Beautiful work! I really appreciate both your attitudes towards continuing to learn new things. That's how I roll too.
Great video. Thank you. Next time you make a panelled door, think of NOT gluing the panels into their rebates to allow for wood movement (my victorian doors of that design have cracked panels because they could not expand and contract within the frame). Also, if you are going to paint the door, consider painting the panels before assembly so that if they do shrink, you see no raw wood at the edges
Nice, solid door brilliant job , Well done.
Ted, that door is bloody brilliant. Well done, you! Awesome video. I was still worried about your fingers, though. Everything you make is impressive. You two are perfect for one another. ❤
Awesome job on the panel door. You are upcycling materials on hand and your woodworking skills too. 😊
Wow Ted do your skills show no bounds, brilliant and very well explained.👍👏

Great job on the door .Love it
Well done Ted, and great teaching too!
You are very kind, the teaching thing does not come naturally as I only ever consider myself an amateur. The more we do it though, the better it will become, and there is plenty more to do 👍
Good job Ted. With the will you can do anything❤
Well done Ted. Looks fabulous K🇬🇧❤️
Fabulous work. Quality and skill plus.
you have a lot of talent.. bravo for this creation
Lovely door Ted worth 100 pounds or more ;) a transom above that door would be lovely with a painted glass design by Lesa :) could use some of the colours from her fabric. I don't know if you watch 'Escape to Rural France' Dan Preston does similar stuff with his roof frames. Carpentry is such a fascinating process I can't even imagine where it started from back in the 15th or early century. I did a workshop for woodworking a little mostly used a router and cut wood and sand and stain. I liked it but didn't follow as back then girls weren't encouraged to do woodwork. So I can appreciate those like you who can do these things.
I do watch @escapetoruralfrance, and Dan is very talented, I wish I had his workshop though. Je suis jaloux.
Brilliant Ted.😊
Fantastic job! Well done
Brilliant video xx
Well done!
Lovely work!
Absolutely brilliant Ted. At last I have got my wish. To watch you in detail on how you use your skills to make things. 👍👍

Well done nice job
This channel is fantastic ❤❤what a brilliant job ❤
Oh that beautiful.
Brilliant!
So very clever ❤🎉xxx
Sweet!
Hey Ted. Nice door. It might not be proper but I noticed that if you hang the door with the short panels on the top...it will look like a cross...maybe a nice tie in to the Templar room?
I love doors like this ❤ my house had a few similar but with 6 panels that I'm working on stripping & refinishing ❤😊
!!
Just a thought because I'm weird. You rent suites. Is it really a good idea to have an impenetrable door for a bathroom? Ted, you created a beauty that should be displayed as an outer door within view of visitors.
If you have seen the style of the other doors to the property it wouldn't suit the period of the style they are done in.
PPE ?
excellent job ! Like you say you could buy one but making one is far better you do it exactly how you want and to fit perfectly.Well done Ted it cheers the heart to watch you make it,you should be proud of your acheivement all the very best, look forward to seeing your projects
