    i have lived and grew up in Colorado Springs ever since i have been 2 years old (approx. 28 years) I am seeing all of these videos of people coming to Colorado Springs and loving it - it just makes me proud of my city for all it has for what i have considered to be a small city but now it is becoming known as something special. The only downfall is the traffic is getting worse and a few undesirable developments but you take the good from the bad...I am glad you enjoyed the city

      I’ve been here for 2 years now,
      I do have an update!
      Food is gross, weather is perfect,altitude will kick your butt for the first few months. There are NO black people. If you do see one in the grocery store they are always in interracial relationships. The wealth disparity is pretty large it’s basically RICH and poor. I have decided to move back to the south but I would recommend Colorado Springs for families who are looking for a beautiful safe place to live. I also have not experienced any racially charged situations. I do live north, in a predominantly white area that is less policed than the south. The people are nice, and I’ve honestly never had bad service here. I absolutely recommend living north in the Palmer lake area, interquest,manitou.

      The Springs & Denver can both get pretty hot. Triple digits aren’t uncommon in late Summer, but usually 90s. However, it can drop 30 degrees or more at night, and the heat is very dry. So if the sun is out at the higher elevation, even 85-90 can feel intense. But if there’s cloud coverage, it feels nicer since Colorado has low humidity.

  • @Daniyoyo

    • @TheCityandBeyond

      That's a little tough because both have plenty of mountains. Best guess is you're not as high as Denver though.

    • @Chat-GPTRecipes
      @Chat-GPTRecipes 2 года назад +4

      Colorado springs is in the foothills of the Rockies just like Boulder, CO. It is a higher elevation than denver sitting at around 6,000-6,500 ft depending on where you are at. Denver is a little bit further away from the mountains in the plains, not sure what you mean by driving up in the mountains unless you are coming from the west side of the Rockies. Colorado Springs is nestled right underneath the 14k Pikes Peak. To answer your question, if you are on the east side of the rockies then no you do not have to drive in the mountains to get here. Once you are here, you are a short 10 minute drive from being in the mountains.
