  • Rebuild an abandoned wrecked track bike back into an original sportbike. Gave this wrecked motorcycle another chance, and did everything from changing the spark plugs and oil all the way to sandblasting and painting the rims. This Gixxer overhaul was a site to see. Watch till the end!

    I think I have liked this video multiple times I just found a 2005 gsxr 600 and it’s really bad, needing multiple parts and bolts/screws, you sir are amazing! This video deserves a lot more views, I hope you continue to post and do more rebuilds and continue to treat these bikes like gold, I know that bike is so happy you got a hold of it it needed almost a full recovery, and you got it just right 🔥🔥

      Wow thanks! And the 05 models a good one too you have a little more room to work on things inside the frame and part are a little easier to get. Remember all it needs to run is clean fuel, fresh air and a happy spark and the rest is just topping on the cake lol stay tuned just got a s1000rr to rebuild and will have the first videos of that up soon!

      @@mendingmotos 🤜🏾🤛🏽 i just started ordering replacement parts, where’s a good place to buy oem parts and how did the quantum fuel pump work for you?

    • @mendingmotos
      @mendingmotos  7 дней назад +1

      @@jaelinsmith3421 I like motorsport the best (typically cheaper) but partzilla is also a good site. But also also just find the part number and enter the part number into Google and sometimes you’ll find random sites that aren’t scams but have the best price that is much lower than the other two. That quantum fuel pump is really great because it comes with all the types of fittings and connectors you would need no matter the fuel pump so I’m sure it would fit and I had no issues. Just make sure to replace the pick up screen. You should make your own build video to help out any other guys wanting to rebuild their K5’s.

      @@mendingmotoseveryone says partzilla, so I will use that site but I will try motosport as well, and I’m thinking of trying the quantum fuel pump as I seen many people use it. I would make a RUclips video dedicated to rebuilding K5 but I am not nearly as confident to do it on camera first try.

    Since I have watched videos regarding Suzuki GSX'R the algorithm took me here...
    Am old school and am wondering nowadays which gsxr with better technology, with a gas gauge...lol and better mechanicals would be worth to get?
    Doing some research, from 2017 on, has better equipment but now which years are good years that's dependable and easy to work on.
    The color combination are beautiful from the older models...dope!
    By watching this build it takes a lot of knowledge of every screw and much patience.
    Love the thumbnail 👌
    Happy rebuilding and have fun with each project.
    Much blessings 🙌
    Safe riding.
    Thank you

      Hey thanks glad you were brought to the channel! And I honestly think if your doing a 600 or 750 the 2011 onward have not really change at all but for the 1000 yea I would got with the newer model but again Suzuki hasn’t changed anything really other than a few tweaks to the electronic. Since it is a gsxr parts will be plentiful and not a big worry and more often than not the issue you run into are minor such as a spark plug went bad or a rectifier went out, nothing major like on European bike where most of the Faults can lead to catastrophic failure lol bmw *cough *cough. ** lol but yea the 2011+ for 600&750 and 2017+ for 1000 and your golden just find a good condition used one and do the maintenance your self to get to know the bike more. And yes some jobs are tedious but it is fun and worth it in the end.

    I'm missing a lot of hardware for my rebuild. Where do you get all of the nuts and bolts for your fairings? I pretty much had my bike sitting in the elements for a few years. Going to need to replace a lot of stuff including stuff after the wreck (wiring harness shorted, left side damage to clutch, handlebar, and front HUD is absolutely destroyed with a lot of electrical components XD).

    • @mendingmotos
      @mendingmotos  2 дня назад +1

      You can find bolt kits online that have all the thread clips and bolts you need just be aware some are made of really light aluminum so they snap easy. If you want quality go with the company probolt.all the hard parts can be found for cheap used or Chinese part (not that bad) also remember to dump the old gas clean your injectors, swap old fuel lines especially the one connecting the top injectors fuel rail to the bottom one. Also prob need a fuel pump kit. Then some new spark plugs, oil, and coolant and you’re golden. Good luck with the build !!

    I have a problem with this exact bike model, the front brakes are juddering my bike back and forth when braking and makes a train horn noise when coming to a stop. I just bought new rotors so no way they are bent. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    • @mendingmotos
      @mendingmotos  3 месяца назад

      I would start with pulling out your brake pads and cleaning your brake caliper pistons with some soapy water. Typically, when you buy new rotors, you’ll buy new brake pads and “bed them in“ but it also could be air in your brake lines Where one caliper isn’t clamping enough, and just barely which is making the jutter

    Cylinder 1 header primary is dented badly. Definitely needs to be addressed.

      Yeah I noticed that too, but I wanted to get out riding and didn't have the money for a new set just then. But for some of the upcoming builds I'll def replace anything that's not right. Thanks for the heads up! Cheers
