- This is my review of all the tees in my wardrobe: Warehouse, Merz Schwanen, Viberg, Dehen, Freenote Cloth.
Warehouse Sinker Weave Tube Knit - 1:18
Made in Japan
This might be my favorite tee if I sized correctly (TTS feels too small)
I recommend sizing up 1 if you don't like the slightly cropped fit
Merz Schwanen Loopwheel Tube Knit - 4:49
Made in Germany
My favorite specialty tee
I recommend sizing up 2 if you want a regular relaxed fit
If you like the slightly cropped slim fit, size up 1 from your normal size
Dehen - 7:43
My favorite workhorse tee
Made in USA
I recommend TTS unless you have exceptional shoulder or chest volume
Viberg - 11:51
Made in Canada
My beater tee
I recommend TTS unless you have exceptional shoulder or chest volume
Freenote Cloth - 13:23
Made in USA
I recommend TTS unless you have exceptional shoulder or chest volume
The 9oz is a good tee all around
The 13oz is incredible but has weak seams - not good for a workhorse tee - better as a specialty tee only
All my tees are washed by machine on a cold delicate cycle and hang dried

I love the length and the neck hole size and structure of the dehen
Tees are something I don’t spend a lot on. Generally, I prefer undershirts with a deep vee that won’t show under a shirt and that is long enough to stay tucked in. Tommy John has worked for me. When it comes to crew neck tees, I like Uniqlo. I also own Lady White, but it’s on the pricey side.
Good approach! Not everything on our person needs to be a showstopper haha…I do love Uniqlo products.
Others: *TRMC much like Wearhouse but more interesting, almost spongy breathable texture. Good for white tees because somehow The Real McCoys doesn't give you that worry about the (potential) stain feeling.. *The Flat Head much like the denser weaves, say Dehen, costly but bulletproof, more vintage less formal look because of the weight. *Sunspel makes the best "formal" tee that upgrades the Merz.
Any comment from you immediately becomes the best thing the video has going for it 😂🙏🏽
This is definitely where I should delve next, once some of these tees I have wear out. I know TRMC for their leather jackets and TFH for their jeans, yet forget they make other fantastic things too. Their tees sound phenomenal. Thanks for the tip- we’ll talk soon 🙌🏽🍻
Very helpful video. My fav is the 9 ounce Freenote Cloth.
I love the look and feel of the 13 oz Freenote shirts too and have had the same problems with the fabric coming apart like you on at least two that I can recall. The difference is that I'm that guy you described who wears it and then puts it away for weeks and lightly washes them occasionally. I don't do any type of labor in them either, whether around the house or for work.
Wow, crazy that you’ve had the same problem! Hopefully they know about this. I think I’m going to tell Freenote.
I really like my Old but Gold loop wheel t-shirt that I had natural indigo dyed by Wild Frontier Goods. Most loop wheel shirts are a bit too boxy but this one isn’t. I also like my WonderLooper heavy weight tee. 3Sixteen is pretty decent too but I wish it was more tapered.
The OBG sounds incredible. Especially dyed by WFG!
@@thevintagefuture6567 Mike from WFG actually lives pretty close to me here in Japan so he's working on a few things for me.
Nice!! I’ve seen so many outstanding pieces he has made on IG; rad that you get to see some of that up close.
I hate when my shirts stick out below my jacket. I thought I was the only one 😂 I’m not a tucked in guy either. I wanna try Dehen some day, and maybe freenote.
Hey!! There’s more of us hahaha
I wear Dehen, Freenote, and Indigofera. All seamed shirts, all great. My freenote’s are the 8oz and they are perfect. I like the Indigofera the best. It’s a dense, thick fabric with a good stretch and an even better design to it. Mine is the ECRU color but I can’t remember what they call it. I’ll probably get some more in some other colors. Been wanting to try the Merz B as well with the loop wheel.
I was surprised how much I love the Merz…Indigofera sounds really cool. So many good brands to try. I’ve literally never even researched any products by Indigofera.
Hey David, Kenny here again. Cool to see your take on these brands, I’ve always wondered about the sizing on the Merz tees so this helps a lot. Another one I personally enjoy is the Bronson tubular knit. It’s probably the best value for money that I’ve found.
Hey Kenny! That Bronson sounds cool! Jeff denimdentist likes Bronson a lot. I’ll have to take a look!
I use uniqlo U crew T-shirt. That’s the closest i can get to a warehouse & co t-shirt. But will soon buy a warehouse t-shirt
Nice! Uniqlo is great. My favorite button up is from Uniqlo.
Have a bit of a T-shirt addiction myself. I was quite disappointed by the Merz B Schwannen 215 and the basic one. Even one of them at discounted price I thought was not worth it.
Haven't tried some of these that you speak about
What did you not like about Merz? Interested to hear your perspective. I like this one I have, but it’s the only Merz product I’ve had any experience with.
So I did not like the finish. When ironing the tees you can see how well they have been sewn and cut, and the ones I have are just not good.
Far from straight back and front panels, weird twist in the sleeves. Also the original one is a very thin fabric, and very expensive for the price.
Other Japanese made tees in a similar price range are much better finished.
This is very good to know, thank you! I think I’ll try some more Japanese brands next. Maybe Flat Head and RMC. Or Iron Heart.
other great ones are:
Ironheart
Studio D‘Artisan
The Real Mccoys
Merz B. 215 (big big difference to the one you got)
Those sound cool, thanks! What’s the other Merz? I suppose I should look it up
@@thevintagefuture6567 Its much heavier compared to the one you have (245gr vs 155gr) and also has a much more structured collar (however still not a tight as Warehouse). And a two thread construction.
@@duethe6929 That sounds awesome! I'll go check their website
