  • John Fogerty - Fortunate Son - live - November 7, 2009. One of the great songs from the Vietnam "era" with an intro/dedication to a Vietnam vet. Great energy, and the rage is still here with John's voice as strong as ever.
A BIG "thank you" to all who served or are serving our country, and a BIG "f *** you" to the politicians who used their power and influence to get out of serving.

I also listen to CCR alot to remind me of my dad and uncles who served in Vietnam. My dad did 3 tours with the 198th Infantry, and my uncles Charles who was a Huey machine gunner was killed in action in 68,and my other uncle Jeff was in the 101st Airbourne in 69 did 1 tour.

It seems to me that whenever there's a "winding-down" of a song Kenny Aronoff does drums on, it ends with a combination snare/cymbal crash.

@mothulicka quite energetic while he plays, but Kenny Aronoff is far from a metal drummer. besides his work w/JF he is best known for being John Mellancamps drummer for 17 yrs and recording with numerous other artists, not one metal band in the bunch. lol!!

Not really. You can be against the war (the politicians who ordered it, the generals, commanders, and admirals who will never face battle), and be in support for the young men/women who went over there just doing their job. In the case of Vietnam, the young men who were forced, with no choice of their own, to go fight a war we were never going to win.

You can most surly have a song against the war and be for all those men that died. Most of the 50,000 plus that lost there lives were drafted in the army and did there duty, giving there lives for us! Mad about it GOOD! You should be,no rich kids ended up in the jungle with little or no training for the type of war they had to fight. With a government ( left or right,Dem or Rep). They all keep there kids out of harms way. And called it a police action,ha ha that's so there supporters ie.big defense contractors could sell billions of shit for years $ years. Sound familiar? The Middle East! Same shit. I am all for defending our own! Just if we are going to fight, fight with every thing we got and I'm sorry about collateral damage but it's WAR,us against them, blow the enemy off the face of the earth.Do this and countries will not want crazy's holed up in there land if they know the next step is getting smoked. God bless all the men and women that do and have fought for this great country, died, physical wounds, mental wounds, family's that take care of there loved ones that make it back but are damaged.Ya this song means a lot! Good Bless the U.S.A.,and God bless this tune and thank you John for it during nam.And more importantly now. With no draft just kids that are true patriots,or kids that have no other choice. Now we don't get a cross section of the U.S.A.I like other nato friends way of doing it. Everyone goes 2 years. The super rich, rich, well to do,middle class, the just making it,and the poor.Every 18 year old no exceptions.then maybe the thought off everyone's kid might go to war we will think before we say,yes boots on the ground is the way to go!

He is good , but he is "Running " a little , he plays half a note faster then the others so they have to compensate :)

Dude that is called "pushing" if it were a different song he might play back of the note to emphasise a part or "pulling", this drummer is one of the most in demand artists for live and recordings
