Harry’s best quality as a manager was how uncomplicated he was. His plan when he was Spurs manager was always “give it to Luka” and Luka would be told to “do something with it” so they did and he did 🤷‍♂️ Joe Cole said when Harry was about to bring him on for his debut he asked Cole who his favourite player was and Cole said Zola. So then Harry said “okay go play like him.” He just trusts that his good players will know what to do and he doesn’t fill their head with a tonne of instructions.

If you listen carefully, he said when he came to Tottenham Modric was playing left wing. Probably because he wasn’t the typical physical midfielder expected to play in the prem at the time.
It wasn’t Harry who put Modric LW it was the coaches at spurs before Harry got there…… Harry said he thought he was better in the middle and had confidence that he could play there in the prem.
He didn’t claim he ‘made’ modric as some in this comment section are jumping on.

This is just name dropping. Bale was thought of so highly by Arry he couldn't get in the Southampton side at one point, but of course, other managers improved Bale and now Arry wants the credit.

Not a huge Redknapp fan but what has him not getting in the Southampton side got to do with Redknapp? He was 16 years old when Redknapp was there, he didn't make his debut until late that season months and months after Redknapp had left.
Bale's best season at Spurs may have come under Villas-Boas but he had two fantastic seasons under Redknapp, one of which he won PFA Player of the Year for, how many other players he managed won an award like that under him? Before Redknapp Bale was being written off, Redknapp moved him from LB and he was exceptional under his management, clearly one of the best players he coached and would obviously be one of his favourites.
      Awful shout all round.

@IrishFootballFanTV I can't help but feel that if the whole GOAT discussion and/or the Ballon d'Or awards weren't so focused on forwards and goals, Modric would rightly feature a lot more prominently.
He's widely held as one of the best players ever, but even so, he's criminally under-appreciated, by my eye.
