Not a huge Redknapp fan but what has him not getting in the Southampton side got to do with Redknapp? He was 16 years old when Redknapp was there, he didn't make his debut until late that season months and months after Redknapp had left. Bale's best season at Spurs may have come under Villas-Boas but he had two fantastic seasons under Redknapp, one of which he won PFA Player of the Year for, how many other players he managed won an award like that under him? Before Redknapp Bale was being written off, Redknapp moved him from LB and he was exceptional under his management, clearly one of the best players he coached and would obviously be one of his favourites. Awful shout all round.
