Is this tool the larger one in the video
......Lisle 53700 for small and 53250 for large filters. About $13.00 each, and it covers all the auto/light truck sizes. They have swivel handles that allow access to hard to reach filters. This demonstrated wrench can ONLY be used perpendicular to the filter, making it unusable in tight spots.
Exactly my thoughts, it can't be the greatest if it ain't got a swivel handle, because who wants to buy a whole socket set just to get to a hard to reach filter.
I have this wrench - its fantastic.
I've had one for 20 years and never failed to remove an oil filter on cars, vans or tractors yet. I've even used it on hot water cylinder heating elements, it's a great tool. Might not suit every situation but that's why I have more than one type in the shed.
Glad to hear this feedback. I still use this tool and it has worked on the most stuck filters, like hydrualic and heating oil ones I have ever encountered. Won't work for everything but when you can use it I love it!
$99 for a Marvelous oil wrench that will not fit under my truck. No thanks, I'll keep my oil filter nut.
Excellent tool and great video!
Thank you, I am still using this tool today, when I can use it, its always the best
The concept of this is great! The downside, how often do you have enough room to use this? It could be used for lawnmowers and other smaller engines but not vehicles. Maybe in Europe, the oil filter is all by itself with very little other parts around. All the times I’ve changed oil, getting that much clearance is unlikely
really !! $103.39 + $16.85 shipping ..it's too great to have one for this job ..
I didn’t know Christopher’s Watkins was a mechanic😂
expensife but awesome tool i use one 4 quite some time.
So expensive ... I think it changes the filter by itself ...
Super Awesome tool who cares about cost - nothing like it - ordered one due to tight space situation - GREAT VIDEO DUDE.
good when u have space for the handle
Looks cool and maybe worth trying but what about price? What about showing us where to get it?
Great point! I paid $99 for the wrench when I bought it. The part number from Facom is U.48 and its currently $92 from www.ultimategarage.com/shop/part.php?products_id=3409&osCsid=r9cd76m9krv0ovq1tu0c6ppn37
only problem u can't easy get an angle to spinning some oil filter u can't using straight when it's the cars or truck
The noise when it catches 😂😂
I bought a Facom 20 years ago from Griot's Garage!
As long as ya got the 10 inches to lay it up on the filter. Not likely found under most motors another case of design guys not really familiar with the job, just the task.
Definitely can't replace them all, I use it for a lot of ATV's and mowers and also home heating oil cartridges which can be a nightmare to remove. This works great when you can use it
I work in hvac and plumbers always over tighten those spin on filters needed to get a pipe wrench, extension and another guy. I’ll try this though looks good. Is the grip capable of supporting leverage.
I just used this a few weeks ago for diesel filters, it is worth every penny. One of the best tools I ever bought to save a lot of frustration.
www.mactools.com/products/macu48?_pos=2&_sid=cf4109d54&_ss=r
I want one.
good concept incorporating pipe wrench mechanics but impractical around most cars due to lack of swing space. Probably useful around farm equipment but i've seen those guys just just cheap old channellocks pliers.
Where can you buy that? I’d like to buy one I am a service tech.
So sick of breaking filter wrenches on the job and having 5 different sizes. Ill have to give this a try!
Tight clearance on all my cars. I don't think I could use this.
The back of it looks like hello kitty.
$130 ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY LOL
I only said the best not the cheapest 😎
Where can I purchase one? I like mechanical advantage gadgets.
Thank you kindly. You can purchase it often on ebay and also www.ultimategarage.com sells them as well. I have no affiliation to either I just love the tool. Best wishes.
Cool 🤠
How to order?
Seems nice but for $100 it’s not worth it. Channellock will sell you a 2 pack 9” and 12” for $30. Amazon sells one for $13 and harbor freight has a good one I use for $8.
How much?
Use chalk in your toolbox to keep the rust away.
I'll tell you though, those Gar- Ber Filters are a pain in the butt to get off. One of the reasons is because some of the knuckleheads install them wrong. Thank you so much for the video though
I have noticed it's not just the installers doing it wrong, I put them on and they were soooo tight the next time. I think its the way the heating oil reacts withe the rubber oring. This filter wrench makes a big difference when removing them. Totally overpriced but just the way it is for this one.
@@SilverCymbal You're absolutely right! But some of these guys support them just with the copper line, I don't know what they're thinking. I went to a new customers house the other night for the first time, I saw that Garber filter and I said, oh no! I'm glad that wasn't the problem. But whoever installed this did it really nice, it's supported by a nice sturdy steel plate.
how can this be the best ever when many filters are situated in a tight place, making such a tool unable to get into position, let alone be able to move the handle?
Because the grip is beyond belief. For Hydro filters and extremely tight ones this is a dream when it can be used. Works for about 75% of them that I work on. All these years later this tool is still my favorite
$108? Holy cow!
$116 bucks when a cheaper $20 one does just as good a job.
I can grab an oil filter on the bench any day.
Beautiful! But $100USD kills the deal for me:(
It isn't cheap for sure. Took me two years before I worked up the nerve to buy it. For very stubborn filters this one can't be beat.Thank you for watching and please consider subscribing to my channel for other cool videos with tools and mechanical fun. Best wishes.
No point in using this if the oil filter in under a tight spot without much room since it is no different then using an Oil Filter Wrench. It clamp and open horizontal only render it useless if there is no room to turn it and put it in. There are better option out there especially how pricey this one, even a regular oil wrench is better.
Try out my new filter wrench , plus I’m offering a VALENTINES DAY SPECIAL. The best on the market! ruclips.net/video/L4qGt4xUqrc/видео.html
In your video you say that you can get more of a grip by putting the wrench at the base of the filter, the problem is most of the filters your taking off of a vehicle , you don't have the clearance for this! You would be lucky to have enough room to grab that strap around the end of the filter and turn it off!
Very cool but too expensive and space limitations for most oil filters in the car.
I love this one for hydraulic filters that can stay on for years, sometimes and are stuck. You have access to them but they usually crush before coming off, it's great for those but I fully agree that it cant get to some spots and is not cheap
I don't want to lose my finger using this tool in a very tight space under my car. I wonder why this guy yells woohoo when the thing snaps. It actually sounds scary
Sounds scary? What??? Seriously???
Channellock Oil Filters are the best, Made In USA
Believe me I always love the made in USA part but I have tried those and they don't match the 100% grip these give since they only hold at 3 points. For most applications they will work but I have some heating filters that are terrible to remove and this was the only wrench that could ever remove them without breaking the container.
@@SilverCymbal nope, Channellocks better
Silver Cymbal USA!!! USA!!! USA!!!
110 for oil filter removal tool. good luck
Won’t work on a recessed filter though.
If the filter has no protrusion than this wouldn't work but even in a tight space this can still work for many situations.
...Without a pivoting head there's a LOT of places it can't be used - thanks anyway - !
Wow this is awesome. However, at $116.63 NO WAY.
They are 78 dollars + Free Shipping on ebay guys. Probably less if you keep searching.
Great deal at that price! Still enjoying mine regularly.
Silver Cymbal How long have you had them?
The tool in the video is now 7 years old
Use a wooden tool box tools will never rust
$100???
It was great while it worked but after a couple of weeks of light work on tractors it lost its grip. A bit of a waste of money
Wow, I am very surprised to hear that. I am still using mine all these years later.
$100 mother fippin dollars?
Wrong! Its obvious flaw is that it will not fit in tight spaces, which is most vehicles. The JM3 oil filter wrenches are the best design today. Check them out.
The JM3 won't be a used by a pro. They are on to something with it, but its miserable to use, needs a tool to opoen up, They need to make a real version of it, not just cnc stamping it. I agree this Facom wont work for recessed spaces but is the best for open areas which there are plenty.
If people would would tighten the filter properly,we wouldn't need any wrench.
Very true
127 Bucks for a oil filter wrench. No Thank you . My 7 bucks Harbor Freight works great for me.
If you buy this wrench you will have to fight the ladies off. That's what they extra $100 is for.
Nope! I don't think would work on any of my five cars... And at $100, no way!!!
lets find a chinese version on alibaba/ aliexpress, must be under $ 10.. :)
That would be great. It is really an amazing tool
@@SilverCymbal No doubt. Its amazing
OMG! Extremely overpriced. Paying that kind of money, I should be able to take out any size oil filter. No thanks I am not grabbing my ankles today.
No it’s not . The best is the JM3 oil filter wrench
Unless your filter is sitting on the bench or it’s completely exposed, this tool is absolutely useless. It will not fit in majority of newer trucks and many cars. Most filters are located between subframe and oil pan. This tool is about 10X longer then the space around most oil filters.
I use it on Heating oil cartridges as shown and for both John Deere and Kubota hydraulic oil filters. Not wrench will fit every situation but this gets off some of the worst filters I ever encounter
Won't fit in tight spaces.
👎
Nope. Not enough room.
How can it be the best oil filter wrench ever made when it won't even work on the majority of cars with limited space to swing the handle around?? Probably designed by stupid engineers who have never changed the oil filter on their cars. Please consult with good car mechanics before you design useless tools. They would have just laughed at this $100 design. Please say: Best Oil Filter Wrench Ever Made If You Have Space To Swing The Handle Around. I have three cars and this won't work on any of them.
