Broker should only be allowed a certain percentage point blank period, been ripping truckers off 4 years !
Maybe but then trucks wouldn’t have any chance to negotiate. I know sometimes I’ll take sub 5% to help a truck out if the load is paying well. If brokers are stuck to a flat rate then good brokers who keep rates high for truckers will get beat out by people who don’t care about the total rate and just want their percentage.
Did you have a paccar engine?
No Cummins ISX 15
Your follow through game is weak lol just messing with you do whatever os best for you
Lol for real though
You are a smart, driven, hard worker! You will bounce back. I’m semi retired and struggling to stay in the game! I have enjoyed following you, take care!
Thanks brother! Hang in there
Just sold my truck and going local with Love’s.
Good luck brother!
I didn’t watch the whole video, but I’m the same boat. I might end up going back to my factory job working 40-50 hours a week max. I miss being home everyday having a set schedule and actually having a life. I’m trying to hang in the truck for 3 more months so I can complete a year of experience that way if I do decide to get into it within the next 3 years again I don’t need to go with a trainer. Cheers buddy.
It’s a tough time in the market, I understand why so many O/Os are parked
Why don't you all just go into hauling fuel? I'm home every day, work 5 days a week. 2 consecutive days off. Guys starting off make 85k after 3 years over 100. Life is good
@@Ginx-pe4si I’m tired of the long hours man, I never know when I’m getting off. I keep on changing my mind, sometimes I wanna quit trucking for good and sometimes I don’t. I was making $27 an hour at the factory job I was at time and a half after 40.
@jc9876 you do fuel amd your load up about 15 mins, drive 4 1/2 hours to your drop, 20 minutes to unload and 4 hours back. Day is done at home. Fuel aint dry goods or reefer
I think fuel is awesome and if I wanted to be a company driver I’d definitely go that route. Plenty of good opportunities similar to what your saying for company drivers to make good money and be home every night.
i never seen worst time like this on trucking industries
Idling on a emissions engine is a killer, buy a truck with a apu.
No go to a motel and better write off. But agree I don't idle pain is gain.
Yea I agree
@@gingerhotshot I do motels a good write off,I dislike aps and idling trucks. In the old days was open sleeper and a fan.
I have a non emissions glider with an apu, idlingnwill kill an engine wuick
Oh yea
even the dog knew that Burg someone taking the truck away
Its all about the choices that y'all make, patient and not in rush to scale up too fast....u was doing great with ur little hatshot rig, GMC and ur custom build trailer. U was great about it and doing freight is even harder too.
Yes you are completely right, 100%
Trucking by its sekfbus not vad .its the people that make it bad
If you can figure it out and work with the right people it’s great!
Seems to me that your overhead was too high
That would be about right
I just started watching your videos, as an older guy that's lived a lot of life (mistakes) I think you're a smart young man and you've learned some hard but valuable lessons already.
Keep pushing through and keep your good attitude, nobody can take that away from you unless you let them.
I like your style and thats worth a lot more than "stuff".
I subscribed to your channel, keep making videos.
Not worth trucking for the current rates, Brokers to greedy an DOT in the hair all the time
There is a lot of obstacles in the industry right now
You pulled the plug early, it’s better to pay the price early than be pummeled by regret and lost time, i saw one guy that spent 30 years in a truck and he was super sad about the time lost, another driver i saw retiring with an oxygen cylinder in hand, not to mention the amount of risk and sacrifice that is required to do this job. I’m thinking of going home for good one last time. I have seen all the guys who have been doing this for 20-30 years and their is a pattern, I believe in patterns.
I miss it a lot but I’ve seen a similar pattern. Every old school owner I know that has had multiple trucks has also had multiple hard attacks.
Like I said before if your going to drive a truck or start a trucking company you gotta do it cuz you love doing it and can see yourself doing it for life.
Thanks for your input stay safe out there
Hate to hear it… your in decent shape/ a veteran right? Go be firefighter; best job out there; 10 days a month & get a side hustle… trade futures or forex. Keep hustling… I have houses, cows, run CDL hotshot! You need multiple streams. Btw; I was a fireman for 2 decades a broker for 2 in ATL…. Best of luck
I agree with everything your saying, I’ll look into it! Thank you!
Firefighters save the foundations.... lol
Im not sure how I stumbled on your page or whatever you call it but, I am a owner operator of a semi with a 48' flatbed and work with brokers on the day to day basis. If you are wanting to become a broker, don't fuck the owner operators over, you have been one yourself and you know what it is like... DON'T TAKE 50% OF THE PAY!!!!
I am for 10% but average probably closer to 8
you found where the money is
Still waiting to find it haha
Tax time will be your best friend..thank you for your honesty. It takes a solid human to reconcile ones poor choices
Hopefully some other people learn from my mistakes, I sure have! Wouldn’t change a thing though
Tried growing to fast.
That’s its
Gesh you should have leased to landstar, but it's a gamble buying a truck most salesman are gules but I've put 50ty grand under hood and still have old injectors. Next most truck shops are pretty sorry as well. But that's all I've been netting is 10 grand or so a month, last March I netted 7 grand in 1 week, but that's long gone days.
My schedule was tough too because I had to be back every month for guard drill. Too late now lol your right
Congrats logistics in N.America is fuked time to re-jigger the industry to "last miles" smaller ops.
Yea we need a revamp
Welcome back 😂
lol thanks
Toronto convention center..I ran my clock completely out
Wait did you say take a month off ? Yeah that’s not trucking that’s vacation
Yea unfortunately I have other commitments in life, one of the reasons it was hard to make it work
Best time to be in trucking is when Trump in office... watch how things goes then....📈
😂😂😂 actually that’s not true👍 the best time on Trucking OTR was late October 2020 to September of 2022
@@ulisesfernandez3739 🤣 enn wrong will see let put money on it
I am owner operator, and Trump took away most of our write offs
So you are the reason we are F
That was why the industry was so hot and we got in
YOU'RE FULL OF CRAP. TRUCKING IS CYCLICAL AND MIMICS THE ECONOMY....WHICH STARTED TO COLLAPSED UNDER TRUMP
Lol i love it , all the best brother
Thank you!
Another one throws in the towel . Lol
I got 35 years in, retired with my truck n trailer, and I’m only 54. Working 3 days a week. I feel for you guys n gals that are just stepping in to the industry.
Lol, I'm studying accounting trying to get out. This industry is so adversarial towards it's workers it's ridiculous!
I think it depends on who you work with. Good people and good culture is a must. I think the same in any industry
Just out here fucking up the industry lol
@@gingerhotshot , you mean taking up truck parking at truck stops. Lol. I’ve seen you lil pricks there. Lil billy big riggers 🤣
By the time you are out of the industry market hopefully become as used to be a couple years ago
It’ll probably will, hopefully soon
Sounds like McDonald's pays more.
Pretty much lol
Teach us how to be a freight broker please
Okay 👍🏻
Being a broker is way harder than being a truck driver. Im a truck driver saying that
Each side has it difficulties. Even though there is a lot of animosity between the two, they are both vital
I broker some freight on the side and I drive a truck full time for a few direct customers. Being a broker is wayyyyyyy easier, 5 minute phone calls, check carrier 411's, send rate cons, BOOM stupid easy money. Just not enough to go full time with it.
Lol brokers make money off the backs of truckers biggest thieves ever they lie and steal it’s their job description
How would truth you to pay them
Huh?
Our trucking sucks
Just bad economy and too many people
U not going no where.
🤣🤣🤣 maybe not lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
