      yes Taurus works great .. sometimes I will use a dust (sevin) with a hand duster or Triazicide granules all around the perimeter of the structure .. very helpful for up to a year! (it will say 90 days on the bag .. but the granules break down gradually, and the dust is effective for easily a year ..)

      @jsb7546 2 года назад

      @@BEAUTYnIQ fr tho dust lasts forever especially if undisturbed I use it in walls for cockroach jobs all the time last like a decade in the wall voids. Granular is great I also spray my lawn with growth regulator on top of that gets a different mode of action out and it soaks the granules in the soil labels will tell you to water it in so always make sure to at least water them in if anything.

    Spiders are very hard to control with chemicals unless you hit them directly because among other reasons Spiders have long legs that keep their bodies off surfaces, and they use specialized appendages to touch their food, so they're unlikely to absorb pesticides from surfaces. They also often spend time in webs, away from areas where they could pick up pesticides. Better to keep areas clean from cobwebs and clutter.

I must say, it worked. My trees stopped dying and, unfortunately, all my neighbors trees continued to die. I simply sprayed the base of my trees with 2 gallon sprayer. Took a while, but worked. ☆Witch Hazel - about 1 cup in spray bottle.
    ☆Essential oil(peppermint/spearmint) are the most effective especially for spiders - i usually put about half the bottle(small small bottle) in the spray bottle.
    ☆ HOT WATER (when first mixing) filling rest of spray bottle up.
    Leave a little room at top of bottle. Close lid. Shake well and spray around windows, door frames/jams, stairs to basement etc.

      I just picked up the Ryobi backpack sprayer with the upgraded One+ battery (included with charger). So far it performs well for homeowner use and is really well built. I think my only cons are the gallon marks are pretty inaccurate (liters are not however), so it needs calibrated by the owner, and the lack of tips- both of which are very easily correctable for little to no extra cost. The sprayer wand also could be better built, but it functions as good as a well built wand.
      I am bought into the Dewalt 20V tool system (and older 18V system), but there is no Dewalt battery sprayer yet..and if there was, the bare tool alone would cost at least $150. The Ryobi is a very fine sprayer for the price and can recommend it.

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  4 года назад

      I take the approach of trying to use less of everything, meaning that I would spray once but there is a good chance you may get even longer control so I would spray once, see how it is working and if bugs are not an issue try to stretch it to 6 months or longer. Good for the $ and less work. I wold worry about resistance, most of these products like this one have been around for 20+ years and are still mainstream because they continue to work.

      It is labelled for stink bugs but they are a little different than most of the typical hous pests becuase they will fly but also crawl. So you can treat the way I showed here and I am sure it will give you some control but I find those stink bugs like to be high up and may get in by eaves and roof lines. In that case you may want to do a similar treatment but do so around house eve cracks and spaces to stop them there as well. But you can apply just as I show to start and see if that helps.

      Rather than chemicals, I boil old coffee grounds in about a quart of water, then pour it into the center of the anthill. Boiling water is the old-school trick, but it's not reliable because some ants have multiple queens or quickly recolonize. The coffee smell seems to keep them away for 1-2 years.
      If your problem is REALLY bad, and you have dozens of anthills spread out over a large area, chemicals are probably the way to go.

    This is what I've done for the invasive species Argentine ants. First when I extended my kitchen 30 years ago I sealed everything up. The ants finally came in through the electrical conduit, so I silicone caulked where these enter the boxes (first puffing in some Roach powder Boric Acid -- pretty safe stuff.) The last way in was the back door. A little roach powder under the sill and problem solved. Then I moved to what is essentially a shack, lots of ways in.
    To kill ants in your house. The ants love the Terro traps, but come on at $7 each it's just an elaborate scam to continually feed them and pay Terro. So I put some sugar syrup (very thick sugar and water mixture) in small cups, I mix in a tiny amount of Boric Acid (Roach and Ant powder Home Depot $8-10 will last you twenty years I've only just bought my second bottle) then as the ants begin feeding I just add more and more boric acid, that's it. They get hooked, they don't notice that the concentration of boric acid has increased or that their colony is dying. Only downside, you spill a cup, the cup dries out. I once wiped out three entire colonies in a couple of weeks. They didn't come back for two years. (None of my neighbors sprayed I asked them.) The thing about the Argentine ants is they're all so genetically similar they see other colonies as sisters so there's no competition. I've been using this method for 30 years.

    Man I thought we were going to be shown how to make something diy style with coke! And it was going to basically be free oh well....

      Sorry, it was to show how small the bottle is. Many are less likely to use professional products, usually because they only come in huge bottles so this is such a dramatic difference and I love that you can do a full treatment for $10

    Is this poisonous to pets? People?

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  4 года назад

      Technically yes, but if you read the science this is safer than many competing products. It isa rated as safe for inside and outside the home, but the real key to keeping it safe is how I applied it here, you are gettng it away from the areas kids and pets go, so even though it is safe and safer than others, this method makes it even safer. For me this is the way to go. Hope this helps.

    No more..let the bugs alone. Im not a tree hugger..but stop with the " chemicals for better living" buy a fly swatter. Option two caulk your where your floor meets the wall

      This method applies the least amount of chemical, in the right place that isn't just broadcast spraying everything in site. You are targeting bugs that are heading in the house and whether you use a swatter or spray if they are gone they are gone. This leaves the bugs outside alone, which gives you some balance.

      Invaders must be stopped or they will infiltrate your food stuffs, bedding, etc. Take action or else you will be overwhelmed, additionally you got to do maintenance around your house too, like cleaning all food preparation areas entryways and where you sleep. Hey Silver - you are the man, using demand for 20 years! Every time I find something to use they the EPA bans it! Great 👍 VIDEO!

      That doesn't work with carpenter ants, that eat your wood structure. Nor, a distant neighbor's problem with recluse spiders.. glue strips on the window sills, and they would be full every morning.. They ended up tenting the entire house, and a fumigation process. All cabinets had to be removed, etc They had to move out, for quite a while. A fly swatter doesn't always work.

    You know this is insecticide that is harmful to you and your children also? I don't recommend to use toxic stuff only to stop a few bugs, just learn to live on this planet with the rest of Gods' creatures.

    What is the difference between Demand Duo and Demand CS, they are both insecticides and made by Syngenta?
    Looking for something for The Canadian market

      @SilverCymbal  4 года назад +5

      The Demand CS was awesome by itself but it didn't provide immediate kill, it created the barrier but could take a few days to work. They added a second ingredient, making it the Duo that now has a fast kill feature but still keeps the barrier power of the original Demand.

      I online chatting with Sygenta yesterday - no plans for them to bring it here, so I guess I have to go down to the States to pick it up when the border re-opens

    Is it pet safe?

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  4 года назад +1

      When used as directed yes, this product is rotuinely used indoors which gives you an idea of its safety. I don't to ensure complete safety indoors and I like applying it how I showed in the video since it's basically out of reach but still gives great control of the bugs.

      This product is extremely toxic to cats, if they come in contact with it, they most likely will die. Dogs and most other pets are ok to have around this product.
