It’s nice to see you and your dad working together. You are truly blessed to have him close to you to be able to help you out. Thanks for taking us along!
It was fun to watch Pete and re-Pete working together.
Re pete......nice...i feel pete the son would get a laugh from that
I was also going to mention that - or perhaps Pre-Pete and Re-Pete? Ha ha!
😂😂😂 Good one!
I never cease to be amazed at the strength of the bond that rust makes. Sure glad your Dad was there to help.
Definitely got there work out for the day.
Their bond as stronger, lol ❤
Yes!
@@LittleJohnFish yes . I have a typo.
The strength of the bond that rust makes is nearly as strong as the bond between Pete Sr. and Pete Jr.
Your Dad is looking well, everything and everyone is peeking out after the long winter!
Great seeing son and farther having some prime time together, bless ☺️
Pete picks his tractor for the day like the rest of us pick a shirt, lol
Pete, just want to say that we (Jerry and I ) have been watching your blog on utube for several years. Each show is a learning experience, and we mean that in a positive way. I have been inspired by your philosophy and your hard work. Maurine is a retired nurse executive and I am retired from Ford Motor. Being in our late seventies we are no strangers to hard work and the enjoyment of doing something that you truly enjoy. Please continue to produce your blog, it is the source of enjoyment for many. Thanks and have a wonderful week.
Always great to have Dad included. And your number one helper.
Pete, I really enjoyed watching you and your dad working together - it’s such a pleasure to see the amicable way you two interact. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you’re able to get the gilts from the breeders. And I can’t wait to see you turn the cows out to pasture - it’s the high point of the spring❣️
Reminds me of a time I worked with an older mechanic. In situations like this, he would say “don’t force it, just get a bigger hammer!”
I love your Dad. He’s very special and wise to have raised you to become the man you are. Be proud of yourself, Hillary and your children and your honest way of life. ❤
Now all we need is Henry in the lineup Father, Son and grandson, Henry seems like a nice young man!
Sorry to hear about Brownie's piglets loss! I understand both the issue with the performance of an animal and from the fact that sometimes I miss those things. I let our cows out on new grass about 3 days ago, grass is looking good out here in the midwest. Wow, that wagon spindle was a real job to get off, but you and your dad got it. I thank you for sharing your video with us, and I hope your Sunday and week goes well.
Your Father has that quite wisdom one always admires. Nice quite humble true talented man!
Too bad about Brownies litter and loss. That too is a big part of keeping animals. Hoping the breeder gets back in touch because it seems Brownie will be going to freezer camp with the feeder group. As always, working with your dad was an example of long term experience and pleasure at knowing each other so well. A good day well spent.
I'm here early....That dang wheel pin was a little stubborn. I can tell that your dad has the patience of Jobe.
I would say we know what Pete going to look like, when he gets older. Pete going to look 👀 like Pete!😂😂
That's unfortunate about the piggies Pete. But is sounds like you've got a good plan moving forward. Keep up the good work
Your Dad is looking good! Nice to have your wagon fixed.
Sorry to hear of your lose of piglets. It does happen to all breeds, some more than others. Hope you find and get your replacements you are looking for.
Hi Pete, you, your father, Hillary and your son make a great team. That's what farming is about. Your videos are great and up lifting as usual. Keep up the great work and have a great day. Summer is on the way. See you next time!
I'm consistently impressed that there is nothing that you or your father can't or won't fix. The knowledge and amount of tools you both have accumulated over the years is staggering. Love your videos, especially the tractor overhauls or "Benny Hill" renditions. Been following a long time and look forward to them. Thank you sir
Always great to see your dad on the channel. You should include him more often. Thanks for the videos, Pete.
Pete! Your dad needs his own channel too! He does fantastic work also. Great job!
Very realistic and practical… 90% “support” and “logistics”, 10% pride and proud.
Reminds me of the story of the blacksmith & his apprentice. Blacksmith, with tongs holding a red hot piece of iron on the anvil. He nodded his apprentice and said "when I nod my head you hit it with the hammer!"
Pete, I love watching you show how people can fix problems them selves and how each generation can pass down such useful information.
Wow Pete you and your dad Pete could pass for brothers! It's great seeing dads and sons helping each other.
Man I'd love to see more of your dad's shop he has some awesome stuff that press is amazing!
Dad's are a blessing! Next door! You blessed Guy!
To fix that feed storage trailer only took four hours. You are getting better at managing your time😂. That was a productive day. Enjoyed something new. Thanks for sharing. Hillary's work is starting up in addition to ALL her other daily chores.
A great video. It is an excellent example of getting things done when a problem arises. You didn't worry about it, you fixed it. It is nice to have your dad for help. Mine has always been there for me too. This is what we need more of. Thanks again for the great channel.
It's ideal to be physically close as in next-door neighbors. Many children are close to their parents emotionally and spiritually, but in the next town, state or country. Makes it harder for the kind of interaction we're honored to see here.
My hopes surged when Pa introduced "Rosie" (the rosebud) to the struggle. Was dismayed when even "she" was denied. Well, there's always the angle-grinder. Again, "no dice" until the (tandem!) "cold chisels" were brought to bear. Where there's a will, there's a way. And with TWO iron-clad "wills" operating, that spindle had no "choice" but to relent. Always enjoy your videos. Thank Pa!
You are very fortunate to have your father next door for those great moments. I chased success and now lives 4 states away raising my own family.
Pig Pazazz: 1. Dazzling style; flamboyance; flair. 2. Vigorous spirit; energy or excitement. That's the phrase you were looking for.
It was nice seeing you work with your Dad. My Dad is also a fan of heating/cutting/welding. He is a retired welder. One weekend I was visiting him in WV when I took the turn into their gravel road a little to tight and ripped the rear shock hanger off of my 93 F150 on the edge of a metal culvert. I thought it was a disaster as I needed to drive back to TN later in the day. We sent my wife after a new pair of shocks and I helped Dad. In a couple of hours he had cut the old hanger off, straightened and welded it, and welded it back to the rear end. We installed new shocks and it was good as new. Never underestimate the value of a good welder.
a bird watching Pete and Pete Jr. work…
“I don’t know what that thing did to get them so mad, but wow, they’re giving it a terrible beating”
Glad you and your father get along well! Would be neat to see his power king tractors and the story on them. (That is if he is ok with it.)
Good to see the other Pete😊
Dad told of my Grandfather buying a Registered Duroc gilt. He said she had a single pig. He saw humor in that story.
Things happen. Thank you Pete.
How fortunate you are to have your parents so close and in good health! Great that your Dad is so helpful! Hope the kids enjoy them too, or did when they were younger! Glad you are tapering off and have time to take it easy!
I think it is awesome that you and your dad are still able to work together. I miss my Dad.
I love when you get you Dad in with you, great to see him loves his wisdom.
Glad you and your father have such a good working relationship. You get a lot done.
Pigs are productive EVERY day. They are making bacon, pork chops and pork roasts.
Looks like you are toeing out a tad there son.
Looks like you two work good together.
Makes me miss my Dad even more, watching this 😢
Love your Channel Pete
I miss my dad .you can’t put a price on time spent with your parents .Well done Pete and Pete .
Nice seeing Dad again the spindle was a Bear 🐻 😮have a good day guy's 😊😊😊 SPRING IS A FUN TIME ON THE FARM
Love workin on stuff with dad.....talk trash make each other laugh....its a good time...even if we dont get it done
I like watching you and your dad work just like how my dad and I were rest his soul your a lucky man pete to have that bond with your dad
Cigarettes and dirty work took my old man when he was 48, I was 26. I love seeing videos like these and vicariously imagining how my father and I would have been having fun tinkering on things together now. Can only be described as feelings like saudade and anemoia.
Hi Pete! Ken here from Nova Scotia. 2 piglets, guess that’s the luck of farming. I agree, you do need good breeding stock to have reliable results from the breeding stock. Good strong healthy animals from proven good jean pool will help you a great deal. I like seeing you and your dad working on projects. He’d be a wealth of knowledge, teacher to the tricks to the trade.
Good genes are hard to find, or when you do, they are costly! At least in terms of breeding animals!
You for sharing your video on the joy to see your dad’s working with you it’s always a pleasure watching your video and keeping us updated with brownie and her piggy
If Pete can't do it, Peter can. Be well.
You don't know how lucky you are to have such a nice dad. My dad would have yelled and screamed at me then cussed me out for breaking the wagon.
“So, he’s imitating a donkey.” 🤣🤣
I have a pig sounds dead-on a donkey when she’s excited. Never fails to tickle me.
Sounds like Brownie’s heading to freezer camp! Office pool time. I say 6 weeks!
That fly press is amazing, I have only ever seen one other like that one. I have wanted one for quite awhile for my shop. Those antiques if cared for never die. Great video Pete.
Nice to see your old man still looking so spry would love to see him more on the channel your combined wisdom has value that needs to be shared
It's great having dad nearby! Some days are pretty strenuous!
Hey Pete, love your dad's press!! No motors, no hoses, just good old mechanical advantage!:) Just before you slit the tube I was thinking the same thing. As Issac says, " it's only steel"! ( ICWeld) In our family we have people that don't understand the benefits of making their own repairs. "We have a guy to do that". The tremendous cost savings and the satisfaction of completing a difficult task seem to have gotten lost. Thanks Pete!
I can see the writing on the wall. Brownie is on the end of her time on the farm
Beautiful, Bringa memories of my own father helping me with some chores back in the '60's. You are a lucky man, Peter Junior!
Watching you fix stuff makes me braver to do some repairs myself. I’ve installed a faucet, a floor, with the slip in laminate in a bathroom, multiple car batteries, one headlight on a
car with the flip up type(7 screws, don’t drop any), and my latest accomplishment, a dishwasher. Determination is definitely a requirement. I enjoyed seeing you work with your dad.
I can’t wait to see the cattle go out to pasture ,! 🎉
Vigour is the word I think you are looking for.
Seeing you and your dad working together is a special treat. thanks.
When you have a farms that were completely self sufficient, you spend your time equally back in the day.
Those of us who grew up in the sustainable era understand Brownies next job on your farm. Of course you care for your livestock. Stress doesn't raise good meat and yes, that is their job. Every animal on the farm has a job, even Ezrah. Bon appetite Brownie, thank you!
Love your life Pete. Hard work. Its the good life. Thanks for the memories of my dad.
Father and son, great teamwork!
Had to laugh, Pete the elder, says “you got her scared now” hahaha. That spindle was stubborn. Perseverance and experience gotter done…☮️
Glad to see Mr.Pete ,you know Miss.Hilirary always has her knife on her lol , sorry to hear Brownie is not doing well in the reproduction area but I know your family and farm will get back on track, GOD BLESS and have a great day
Good morning Pete
So awesome, Mr. Larson. Busted knuckles+hard work+Dad= A Great Day
Always great to see Pete, Sr at work and lending a hand. An extra set of hands helping out on this big, old equipment is definitely a plus.
Great to see a true project... showing that it is not always easy to fix a mechanical problem with broken equipment... reminds me of projects we encountered with my dad, when I was younger... sometimes it just takes enough brute force get things apart, even if you have all the proper tools. This case shows what I was always told, "grease is cheap"....
I really liked your dads shop with the different signs and everything on the walls!
Back years ago when my father was a rural carrier. When chicks arrived in mail, he would call family to make sure somebody home to deliver later in the day.
Great to see your dad! I can remember heating and beating equipment apart like that ! Best part is working together with my dad! Always Love watching and listening to you Pete!
pete you are blessed to still have your dad, i miss my dad every day. god bless you and your family.
Happy Sunday Pete. Friday down here in South Texas we had a bad thunderstorm and horrible hail storm, sounded like a bucket full of golf balls were dropped on our roof. Aww, sorry Brownie lost so many piglets.
Pete + Pete = excellent video content.
It's great seeing you work with you Dad. Keep taking advantage of the special bond.
Awesome video Pete. Good times with dad. My dad passed 13 years ago. We used to work on stuff together. I miss that.
I know the feeling. My Dad died 13 years ago as well. He was handy with his hands and he taught me a lot, so much so that he thought I became a hot-shot mechanic and would ask me to fix stuff for him!
Very nice job on the gravity wagon. Those times with Dad are priceless and timeless.
Pete, I watched your video last night and I couldn't agree with you more. Knowing what is behind your breeding stock is incredibly important. I've bred AKC Champion Shiba Inu quite successfully for the past 17 yeas and I have learned there is no substitute for knowing your pedigrees and breeding the best to the best. Hybrid vigor is a myth and typically doesn't last beyond the first generation. I know how difficult it is to have still borns, and weak new borns they can happen but ive never had more than one. I wish you all the best in your search for a new boar and imagine the folks you contacted were either overwhelmed, didn't have anything or your email went to spam. 🤞 all works out for you!
This is excellent info. Farmer life: 101. Know or learn how to haul stuff, fix stuff, drive stuff, plow stuff, store stuff, wean and off to market your stuff. Feed and water lots of stuff, sell stuff, plan stuff. Moral of story...you better know lots of stuff. And be a hard worker. Great vid.
I wish my father were alive to do things like this… sadly… he didn’t know which end of the Hammer was the Business end! Haha!
Love seeing you and your dad working together on equipment. He’s quite a man and a great dad! You’re blessed!
I’ve learned so much from your videos and appreciate the effort that goes into providing food (and these videos) for your community. Thank you for sharing your farm life, the good and not so good, with us.
I’m not one to be a nosy neb, but it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up when I see someone working on a vehicle that’s up on a hydro Jack instead of a Jack stand. Big fan of the channel and I watch every video.
Glad to see your dad again. Enjoy your videos.
Thank you for all the show and your Dad he is good be there for you prayers to you all , Lucky in Candler NC
Pete, great seeing you and Pete Sr. working together. My father was a master mechanic and welder taught me many things
You could do an entire episode on just your Dad's shop press. Love that old equipment.
You made that gravity wagon an offer it couldn't refuse. Nothing quite like a rosebud head on the torch, cutoff wheel and sledge hammer to "persuade" it into a working condition. In re your observation of the amount of work that goes into the equipment - the other farm channels I watch show the truth of that. Fixing the tractor, updating / adjusting / prepping the planter, maintaining the combine, replacing busted components on the hay baler, fresh teeth on the tedder, changing filters on the skid steer, prepping the bins....it never seems to end. Field work seems to be only a fraction of what they do.
4 hours working with your dad. Awesome!
Hi Pete, sorry for the bad news with Brownie. It must be so disappointing, waiting for all the new piggies to arrive and then ending up with two. Great work you and your Dad on repairing the wagon.
Well Brownie will make a lot of good whole hog sausage once she weans this litter and eats finisher feed for a month or two.
My father always said you market the farm’s grain and hay through your livestock. Do a great job of raising crops and then you’ll have more opportunity to raise the livestock that pays the bills.
Love to see you and your dad working together my dad passed ten years ago and miss doing things with hen
Awesome to see your Dad. Getting good breeding stock is a challenge these days. It is exciting to follow your pig plans!
We are building a breding flock of White Dorper Sheep and it is a work in progress.
